WWE Officially Releases Rikishi, Notes on Japan Shows, Injury Updates

- WWE officially released Rikishi this past week, mainly because officials felt that he was milking his latest injury and was not working hard at coming back. Rikishi was also told to lose some weight while recovering, but he didn't do that and the company just opted to cut ties instead of bringing him back. Reportedly, he is already accepting indy bookings.

- It is believed that both WWE house shows in Japan this week did not sell out due to high ticket prices but they nontheless grossed a very hefty amount, likely a combined $2 million.

- Rob Van Dam and Jamie Noble both suffered back injuries during the second house show in Japan. Meanwhile, Eddie Guerrero ended up working despite his bad hamstring, but he was heavily protected during the tag team match that also included Undertaker, Kurt Angle and John Bradshaw Layfield.
