WWE House Show Results (6/30/05) - Seoul, South Korea

Report by: MSG Tim Johnson, rajah.com reader Attended last nights WWE Super Show here at the Jamsil Gymnasium (30 Jun 05) and here is the matches and results. Edge (w/Lita) vs. Kane Winner: Edge gets the pin following some interference from Lita and the Edgecution (I think that is what he calls it). The along with Lita scurries to the back with Kane in hot pursuit. Lots of Matt chants too. Triple Threat Match for the Cruiserweight Title: Paul London (Champion) vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Funaki Winner: Paul London following his version of the Shooting Star Press on Funaki. Nice reaction to Funaki from the appreciative crowd along with a handshake from London. Shelton Benjamin vs. Chris Jerico Winner: Jerico applies the Walls of Jerico and get Shelton to tap out. Jerico received quite an ovation following and though he tried to be the heal he walked out a face. Jerico offered Shelton his hand and after a moment they both shook hands. Big Show vs. Carlito (w/Matt Morgan) Winner: A little interference from Morgan but not enough to phase the Big Show. Big Show gets the choke slam and covers Carlito for the victory. Muhammid Hassan & Davari vs. Chris Benoit & Shawn Michaels Winners: Benoit and Michaels as Benoit gets Divari to tap out to the Crippler Crossface. Alot of heat from the crowd on Hassan and Davari. Tajiri vs. Orlando Jordan (US Champion) in a Non-Title Match Winner: A mild upset here as Tajiri use a roll up reversal to score the win which the fans really loved. No green mist used though. Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio Winner: See saw match with Rey picking up the victory with the 619 and a springboard leg drop off the top rope. Many Eddie chants during and after the match. Following the match Eddie makes an obscene gesture and departs the arena. Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle Winner: After enduring the Angle slam and ankle lock (twice), Undertaker finally gets the Tombstone Piledriver and picks up the win. Undertaker is immensely popular and his ring entrance, for a House Show, was probably the best of all since none of the wrestlers had their normal TV pyro. MAIN EVENT: Triple H (w/Ric Flair) & JBL vs. Batista (World Champ) and John Cena (WWE Champ) Winners: After both Batista and Cena simultaneously execute their finishers, Batista Bomb and FU, both get simultaneous covers for the win. A little usual interference from Flair but it was quickly subdued by either Batista or Cena or both. Funny segment when JBL attempted a pose down with Batista in the ring. Triple H stood on the apron and shook his head towards JBL and finally had to enter the ring and tell him to stop as he was being made a fool of by Batista. JBL’s microphone skills have really come a long way. He called the Korean crowd “Japanesse Wanna Bees” and himself of course “A Wrestling God.” He also made a reference to Nuclear Weapons and North Korea along with telling the Korean crowd (in English) that they probably didn’t understand a word he was saying anyway. Nice acknowledgement to the fans by Batista and Cena after the match was over and Cena was the last to depart after strutting around the ring in JBL’s hat. Torrie and Stacey came out about mid-show to throw free T’Shirts to the crowd. Sitting too far away for the shirts but the view of them from where I was sitting was pretty nice indeed. Christy Hemme also made an appearance in the ring and opened the show by speaking to the audience. All and all a decent show and a pretty good crowd on hand to watch. BIGGEST POPS: 1) Undertaker 2) Cena 3) HBK 4) Jerico 5) Big Show BIGGEST HEAT (This is difficult because the Korean crowd really cheered just about everyone). 1) Definitely Hassan and Davari – No cheers for these guys at all. 2) Eddie 3) Chavo 4) Everyone else pretty much was cheered with some boos mixed in. I am just an occasional visitor to your site and figure that none of your reporters ever get over to Korea. Don't know the Edge(w/Lita) defeated Kane (Just like in the States, You screwed Matt Paul London defeated Funaki and Chavo Guerrero in a Triple Threat Match, Chris Jericho defeated Shelton Benjamin Big Show defeated Carlito(w/Matt Morgan) in a non-title match Torrie and Stacy do the T-shirt thing Chris Benoit & Shawn Michales defeated Muhammad Hassan & Daivari Tajiri defeated Orlando Jordan Rey Mysterio defeated Eddie Guerrero in a No Disqualification Match Undertaker defeated Kurt Angle JBL comes out and says that he's the wrestling god John Cena & Batista defeated Triple H(w/Ric Flair) & JBL Pops Undertaker Heats Edge(w/Lita) |
