sources: PWInsider.com, www.f4wonline.com -- James Storm had problems breathing after catching a stiff clothesline from The Motor City Machine Guns during their tag match at last night's TNA house show at the Labatt Centre in London, Ontario. Storm was rushed to a local hospital following the match, but was soon released. He appears to be okay enough to work tonight's No Surrender pay-per-view. Initially, there was fear that the injury could be similar to Scott Steiner's severe trachea injury last year. Storm's manager Jacqueline also had some of her teeth knocked out during the match, and her status for tonight's pay-per-view remains unknown. -- Akira Raijin collapsed during his match with Kohei Suwama for the All Japan Pro Wrestling promotion yesterday. He collapses following a hard chop. Raijin regained consciousness backstage after being stretchered out of the ring. His injuries are said to be serious and some are fearing that he suffered a Subdural hematoma - a form of traumatic brain injury. It was announced a few weeks ago that Raijin had signed a two-year deal with TNA. -- TNA referee Earl Hebner doesn't seem to mind getting "You Screwed Bret" taunts from fans anymore. "I used to hate it, but now I love it because it keeps me alive," Hebner told SLAM! Wrestling. "Name a football referee. Name a baseball umpire. Now name a wrestling ref. If you ask anybody who watches our business, my name will come up. That's just the way the business is." He talks about his career in an article at this link |
