Batista MMA Update: Details On When His First Fight Will Take Place

We've got an update on former WWE superstar Batista's Mixed Martial Arts debut, courtesy of Fanhouse.com's MMA Hour talk show.

After stating in a recent interview that he wanted to have his first fight by March, it appears fight fans will have to just a bit longer to see "The Animal" inside a cage.

In an interview with Ariel Hawani, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said that Batista is training hard for his first professional fight, which will take place for the Strikeforce promotion in the second quarter of 2011.

Coker said "there's still dialogue" with Batista and they are hoping to have him fight on one of their shows between April and June of 2011.

There have been reports that Batista's negotiations have taken longer than expected due to money issues. Batista is looking for a 3-fight deal from the promotion.
