WWE MAIN EVENT REPORT (11/20/2013) by Nicholas Sebastian
Josh Matthews and the Miz are on commentary. They hype up a few matches that will be on the Survivor Series pay-per-view in Boston, Massachusetts this Sunday the 24th of November.
Main Event opens with the Funkadactyl's music playing and seven divas making their way to the ring. They call themselves the "Total Divas" and they'll be one of the teams competing in a traditional seven on seven elimination tag match at this Sunday's pay-per-view, Survivor Series.
MATCH 1: NAOMI (OF THE FUNKADACTYLS) VS TAMINA SNUKA
While Naomi of the Funkadactyls awaits her opponent, the six "Total Divas" gather around the corner on the outside of the ring. They are Cameron who is Naomi's partner in the Funkadactyls, Brie & Nikki Bella, Eva Marie, Natalya and JoJo, all stars of the E! Series "Total Divas".
Tamina Snuka walks towards the ring with six other females, the so-called "Real Divas" that will be taking on the "Total Divas" at Survivor Series. They are A.J. Lee, Kaitlyn, Aksana, Rosa Mendes, Alicia Fox & Summer Rae.
We're told that this match was originally scheduled to be A.J. Lee vs Naomi, but that an ankle injury sidelined the Divas Champion and she went to the Authority, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, to have Naomi's opponent changed to her friend and bodyguard Tamina Snuka. A.J.'s taped-up ankle is prominently shown as she hobbles towards the ring with her "Real Divas" team.
The bell sounds and Naomi and Tamina circle each other, then go for a collar and elbow type lock-up. Tamina easily pushes Naomi off with authority sending her rolling onto her back. Same lock-up again and this time, Tamina knees Naomi twice in the gut and throws her into the corner. Anticipating this, Naomi avoids the turnbuckles and makes her way through the middle ropes onto the apron. Tamina follows her but is met with a swift kick and an acrobatic sunset flip over the top rope into the ring from the outside. Naomi follows with a a quick one and a half count on the pin attempt but is countered with Tamina's raw power. A punch to Naomi's midsection and a ferocious takedown by Tamina leaves the Total Diva stunned and lying prone on the mat.
Tamina pulls the hair to get Naomi up and another huge takedown, followed by another hair pull and some knees to the gut by Tamina. Naomi tries to mount some offense but is met with a clothesline as she comes off the ropes. Two count on Naomi who just barely gets a shoulder up. Pulling her up by the hair once again, Tamina throws her opponent into the ropes, only to be met with a flying clothesline from Naomi. Quick cover by Naomi but only manages a one count. Naomi grabs Tamina in a front face lock and tries wearing her down with both women on their knees.
The long rest hold is countered by Tamina picking up Naomi and bringing her all the way to the corner, smashing her back against the turnbuckles. A couple of kicks to the gut by Tamina are followed up by throwing Naomi into the opposite corner. Naomi manages to jump behind Tamina who is following her and hits her with a dropkick to the chin. A near fall gets just a two count for Naomi as she grabs Tamina in another front face lock.
Naomi follows this up with an arm bar, twisting Tamina's arm into a type of fireman's carry, bringing Tamina onto the mat. Quick pinfall by Naomi results in just as quick a kick out by Tamina.
Tamina stays on her knees, crawling to the corner and is met by Naomi. A kick to Tamina and a forearm smash seems to ignite Tamina and she reverses her position and puts Naomi in the corner. A ton of offense by Tamina with lots of kicks and punches and a huge clothesline that sends Naomi all the way over the top rope and to the outside.
All fourteen divas converge to where Naomi had fallen and have a few words but it only ends in a stare-down type standoff as both competitors make their way back to the ring.

We return from commercial with Tamina having a sitting Naomi in a rear chin lock. Naomi is thrown off the ropes and met with an elbow to the head and is followed by a another rear chin lock on her. Naomi struggles to fight out of the hold, but another couple of kicks to the left leg is leaves her crawling around the ring. Tamina continues to punish the leg as Naomi hobbles around, trying to make her way to the corner of the "Total Divas".
Naomi finds an opening by giving Tamina a monkey flip but is only met with more punishment from Tamina, including kicks to the leg, torso & head. As Tamina tries for a side suplex, Naomi lands on her feet and gives Tamina a kick to the side of the head. Big legdrop on Tamina by Naomi but only a two count for the Total Diva. Tamina tries throwing Naomi to the ropes but Naomi baseball slides underneath and jumps onto the apron, promptly giving Tamina a forearm to the gut and a kick to the head.
Suddenly all the divas who were on the outside converge to where Naomi was and a brawl breaks out amongst almost all of them. Tamina is thrown into the ring and Naomi comes off the top rope with a high cross body. Because of the momentum on her jump, Naomi rolls through and off Tamina so there was no pin attempt. Tamina gets up, hits a big kick to Naomi's chin and easily covers her for the 1-2-3.
WINNER: TAMINA SNUKA

A bunch of kicks by Del Rio and he throws Santino into the corner. Del Rio smartly moves away from an arm drag takedown attempt, following it up with two boots to the face of a kneeling Santino.

Santino makes it to his feet and punches Del Rio to the gut a few times to break the hold, then puts him in the corner. Santino is stunned in the corner as he's hit with a fluid enziguri kick from Del Rio. Quick pin attempt and another two count, although Santino is spending more and more time on the mat and struggling with all of Del Rio's offense.

Summer Rae comes out in a black dress with thigh high boots, all accessorized with fringes. Fandango follows her and they dance to ring, interspersed by shots of the crowd reacting to them and "fandango-ing" to his theme song "Cha-Cha La-La". During this extended entrance, Miz explained his actions from Monday, basically saying Kofi blind tagged himself into the match and due to that, he decided on a course of action to give both of them the spotlight. He credits himself with getting them a match at Survivor Series.
Fandango starts by grabbing Kofi from behind, reversed by Kingston. Elbow and punch to Kofi's head by Fandango followed by him throwing Kofi into the corner. Fandango runs in after Kofi only to be met with a neck scissors and be thrown across the ring. Fandango scurries outside under the ropes and outside to the safety of his valet Summer Rae. As Kofi goes towards the ropes to meet Fandango coming into the ring, his neck is grabbed and is met with the top rope. Stunned, Kofi crawls away as Fandango starts his offense with kicks and knees to the head. Headlock by Fandango is countered by him being thrown to the ropes, only to smash into Kofi and bring the high-flyer from Ghana down to the mat.
Fandango runs the ropes again but this time, Kofi Kingston jumps over him twice, grabs Fandango's leg to stop his momentum, then clocks him with a boot right to the face, sending the ballroom dancer reeling. Pinfall attempt by Kofi has Fandango kicking out at two. A couple of kicks by Kofi to Fandango are countered with a side suplex given to Kofi as he comes off the ropes. Fandango stacks up Kofi for a pin attempt that barely gets one and a half. Kofi is still down as Fandango climbs up the top rope, but wisely rolls out of the squared circle and makes way underneath the ring on the announcer's side.
Fandango climbs down to follow him, but Kofi's nowhere to be found. Another camera shot reveals that Kofi has made his way underneath the ring to come outside diagonally from Fandango on the hard camera side. Kofi jumps over the ring steps and delivers a big clothesline to a surprised Fandango. Miz on commentary applauds Kingston, telling him to bring that on Sunday so they can have a great match.

Back inside the ring, quarter-nelson on the right arm of Fandango by Kofi, with Fandango countering with a pull of the Kofi's locks and a knee to the midsection. Irish whip attempt by Fandango is reversed by Kofi, but as he ran into the corner, Fandango bent forward, caught Kingston and just lited him up, over the top rope and sent him all the way to the arena floor, landing with his arm onto the metal ring steps. Kofi is thrashing about in pain holding on to the left elbow he smashed on the steel. Fandango goes outside and begins working on the hurt elbow. He throws Kofi back into the ring and continues working on the arm, immobilizing the elbow while they're both on the mat. Kofi fights out and gets back to his feet but is stymied by Fandango working on that same elbow. Arm bar to the left elbow and a one-armed fireman's carry sends Kingston to the mat again.
Relentless pressure on the left elbow by Fandango. Kingston makes his way to his feet again then suddenly goes down to a sitting position, smashing Fandango's chin against his shoulder. An elbow to Fandango's head out of the corner then kicks to the left and right leg. Fandango attempts another one-armed back-body drop but Kofi Kingston lands on his feet and manages a few forearms to Fandango followed by a drop kick. Kofi comes off the ropes and jumps quite high to deliver a powerful forearm smash to Fandango, putting the ballroom dancer on the mat. Kofi screams out loud to get the crowd behind him, and runs the ropes to deliver the "Boo Drop", a bit of theatrics followed by a double leg drop across his opponent's chest. Fandango screams in agony and rolls towards the ropes. Kofi is in obvious pain as he prepares for his finisher, "Trouble in Paradise". Fandango ducks under the roundhouse kick, but his clothesline counter is avoided by Kofi Kingston. Kingston climbs to the top rope facing away from the ring then jumps and turns in mid air to catch Fandango with the high cross-body. Intense near fall as Kofi's pin attempt results in quite the effort for a kick out by Fandango.
Kofi keeps grabbing his elbow, and is met with a kick to the head as he makes his way towards a sprawling Fandango. The ballroom dancer tries to work on the elbow again but is given his own medicine with a kick to the head from Kofi. Fandango is thrown over the top rope onto the floor. Kofi attempts to go over the ropes to dive onto Fandango, but is only met with the arena floor as his opponent moved out of the way. Fandango grabs Kofi to throw him into a wall near the announcer's desk, only to have Kofi reverse it and throw Fandango right into the Miz who was on commentary. Both Fandango and Miz are down as Kofi grabs Fandango and throws him back into the ring. Miz is crawling around on the outside but makes his way towards the ring to give a piece of his mind to Kofi Kingston who is now on the apron. Kofi, facing the ring, jumps over the top rope and in one motion, does a one-eighty, comes back through the middle rope and kicks Miz in the gut with both feet. This brings Kofi back into the ring, where Fandango is able to take advantage of the distraction and use Kofi's momentum for a school-boy type roll-up and the three count. Kofi is stunned but realizes too late what had happened.
WINNER: FANDANGO
AFTER THE MATCH: The Miz from the announcer's desk has words with Kofi who is pointing at him from inside the ring, in order to hype up and bring meaning to their match on Sunday at Survivor Series.
