WWE CEO Vince McMahon stated in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times that he turned down an offer for a commercial cable network and a pay channel model, similar to HBO.

WWE apparently had a deal on the table with major distributors that would have generated a reported 20 cents per month, per subscriber, had they gone that route. "I said, much to the chagrin of my staff, I'm not going to sign it," said McMahon in the L.A. Times interview.

McMahon added that the terms pay-television distributors wanted were "too restrictive."
