Bobby Lashley On CM Punk's UFC Debut: "Everybody's Going To Be Mad"

Bellator MMA Heavyweight contender Bobby Lashley, fresh off of his TKO victory over Dan Charles at Bellator 138 this past Friday night, recently made some interesting comments about his fellow former WWE Superstars' foray into the world of MMA fighting.

In speaking with The Last Word On Sports website, Lashley made a bold claim in terms of how he feels Punk will be received in the MMA community when he finally enters the Octagon prepared for battle.

"I think [CM] Punk’s going to go to the UFC and kick somebody’s ass, and everybody’s going to be mad [but will have to] give him the respect that he deserves," said Lashley. "There’s so many guys that come into mixed martial arts without any kind of background."

Lashley continued, "I think right now, it is kind of hard just because he’s coming in with zero fights in the UFC, so they’re going have to bring in somebody who is 0-0 or he’s going to have to fight somebody that’s been in there and it’s going to be a little difficult."

Currently, there is no specific time frame regarding when Punk will finally step into the Octagon to do battle, although Punk himself recently alluded to the fact that despite previous claims, his UFC fighting debut could be pushed back to 2016, something Punk says he is "super OK" with.
