Welcome back. I've been very observational this week as I'm about to demonstrate. Who else saw during the HBK/HHH backstage confrontation on Raw part of the Heat roster looking on. Lance Cade was talking with Charlie Haas. What with Cade being a vicious heel and Haas a face Heat kayfabe has been broken and I no longer look forward to a potential Haas/Cade match that will surely happen in the not too distant future LOL. OK that was a bit sad of me but speaking of Charlie Haas he's in action in our first matchup so let's get to it.

Rob Conway vs Charlie Haas
Haas begins with a schoolboy for one. A Lockup leads to a jostle in the ropes and corner, Conway backs off, shoves Haas who responds by shoving Conway down. Conway gets up and applies a side headlock. Haas sends off the ropes, Conway shoulder tackles, Haas kicks Conway down before following up with an armdrag and wristlock. Haas switches to an armbar as Conway tries and fails to reach the ropes resulting in a Conway elbow to the face of Haas. Conway with a forearm and boot sends Haas off the ropes, Haas with a hiptoss counter then hits an armdrag and dropkick which sends Conway rolling to the outside. Haas hooks the hair, Conway breaks Haas' grip and opts for a breather. Haas steps out giving chase back inside where Conway ducks a clothesline then telegraphs a dropkick by hanging on to the ropes. Conway kicks Haas in the back. Conway gets Haas up, Haas with a high knee charges into an elbow. Conway forearms Haas down before back suplexing Haas' neck/back against the corner. The crowd get behind Haas with a Charlie chant as Conway kicks the back again and gets a nearfall. Conway kicks the back as he gets Haas up into the corner. Conway Irish whips Haas who falls to the canvas upon impact in the corner. Conway with a rear naked choke. Haas fights back with elbows, a headbutt to the chest and a forearm. Conway off the ropes ducks a clothesline, Conway boots Haas before delivering a swinging neckbreaker for a nearfall. Conway kicks the back again, chokes Haas on the mat with his hands and applies a chinlock with his knee wedged into Haas' back. Haas and Conway exchange shots as Haas gets up taking Conway down with a big boot. Haas hits a clothesline, backelbow and backbodydrop off the ropes. Haas gives Conway a receipt from earlier in the bout with three kicks to the back and one to the chest. The crowd eat this up. Haas lifts Conway for a slam no Haas turns it into a reverse DDT for the 1-2-3. Good opener. Conway focused on a body part and the crowd were into Charlie. Here is Your Winner: CHARLIE HAAS.

Victoria vs Melissa Anderson
Both Divas are looking hot. Melissa is currently doing a cheerleader gimmick on the independent scene but not today. Lockup, Victoria shoves Melissa away. Victoria backs Melissa to the corner offers a clean break then slaps Melissa in the face. Melissa charges into another lockup and applies an armwringer taking Victoria down before driving her arm into the mat. Melissa runs the ropes into a powerslam which gets Victoria a nearfall. Victoria with a kick to the head grabs Melissa by the hair yanking her up onto her back. Victoria swats Melissa down with her boot before delivering a delayed vertical suplex. Victoria rolls back into a cover for a nearfall before applying a rear naked choke on the mat while hooking Melissa in a bodyscissors. Melissa starts to backelbow free so Victoria throws her down by the hair. Victoria gets Melissa up, Melissa nails some punches to the gut while trying to get up but Victoria kicks her back down before getting her up and finishing her off with the Widow's Peak. 1-2-3. A short but solid women's match. I won't say a standard Women's match as Mickie James matches on Raw/PPV are full of errors and blown spots. Victoria will probably get fed to Beth Phoenix for her debut match tomorrow night on Raw. Here is Your Winner: VICTORIA.

Eugene vs Devon Nicholson
Nicholson looks a bit like Snitsky but without the goatee. Eugene shakes hands with and hugs the referee to begin but Nicholson turns down a handshake. Nicholson begins with a wristlock as a Eugene chant starts. Eugene reverses, Nicholson takes him to the corner by the hair but Eugene ducks, crawls under a lunge and goes into a ball. Nicholson misses an elbowdrop, Eugene gets on his knees giving us a tribute to the late JYD with the headbutts and fake urination on Nicholson. Eugene drop toeholds a charging Nicholson before riding him round the ring like a horsie. Eugene breaks out his customary dance/wiggle combo to anger Nicholson. Nicholson suckers Eugene in with the your shoelace is untied line before levelling him with a clothesline to get some crowd heat. Nicholson chokes Eugene in the middle rope with his knee then his hands. Eugene goes to the corner, Nicholson punches him down, chokes him with his boot then slams for a nearfall. Nicholson traps Eugene's head/neck in a vice, Eugene gets up, Nicholson rakes the face before ramming Eugene's head into the corner. Obviously Nicholson hasn't scouted Eugene that well as Eugene Eugene's up and knocks Nicholson down after a series of punches. Eugene with an aeroplane spin sends Nicholson off the ropes but puts his head down allowing Nicholson to boot. Nicholson runs the ropes, Eugene boots the gut before clinching the win with a Stone Cold Stunner. 1-2-3. The usual Eugene shenanigans but the crowd were very much into Eugene who is still over with a lot of people. Here is Your Winner: EUGENE.

Lance Cade vs Carlito
Main event time. Second consecutive Heat appearance for the rising Superstar Carlito who needs to get his teeth into a new feud or resurrect the one he had with the Masterpiece. Lots of pro Carlito signs and shirts being sported in the crowd. Cade throws his jacket at announcer Justin Roberts. Huge Carlito chant to begin. Carlito with a side headlock, Cade sends off the ropes into a backelbow. Carlito backs off a little, comes back to lockup, Cade knees the gut, lifts for a back suplex, Carlito rolls back goes for a rollup off the ropes but Cade holds onto the ropes. Carlito rolls back, charges ducks a Cade clothesline but runs into a backbodydrop. Carlito crawls to the corner and pleads for mercy. Cade obliges and backs off a little, Carlito advances and slaps Cade in the face. Carlito bails as Cade gives chase outside and back in where Carlito meets him with a dropkick to the face which keeps Cade on the outside. Carlito goes for a pescado but Cade catches and drives Carlito's back into the ringpost. Cade puts Carlito back inside where Cade delivers a backbreaker for two consecutive nearfalls. Carlito tries to punch back as another Carlito chant starts. Cade knees the gut, sends Carlito off the ropes but Cade puts his head down allowing Carlito to boot. Carlito punches at Cade who suddenly pulls out a vicious lariat clothesline 1-2-kickout. Cade gets Carlito up trapping him in an abdominal stretch. Carlito manages to turn around enough to punch his way free. Carlito ducks a punch attempt, boots the gut, staggers Cade with a high knee off the ropes before clotheslining him down. Carlito with a second clothesline, Cade reverses off the ropes, Carlito ducks a clothesline and hits a springboard backelbow after leaping from the second rope. Carlito covers 1-2-no. Carlito sends Cade off the ropes, Carlito puts his head down, Cade boots then shoves Carlito into the corner where Cade unloads with knees, clubs and a boot. As the referee reprimands Cade, Cade walks off to jawjack with him so Carlito reaches out and takes a bite from his apple which he placed on the ringsteps before the bout. Carlito plays dead as Cade re-focuses on the match and pulls Carlito up. Carlito rolls the apple past the referee who turns to dispose of it allowing Carlito to spit the contents of his mouth in Cade's face. Carlito quickly follows up with the backcracker for the 1-2-3 in an entertaining, well worked main event. I'm glad Carlito isn't a total face. His display of cowardly heel tactics along with clever cunning works out fine for him. Here is Your Winner: CARLITO.

Grisham quickly plugs Raw this week saying what a week it should be before signing off to end the show. Thumbs up for this week's Heat for the first and last matches. The Diva match was short but solid and Eugene provided the usual comedy. I'll be back next weekend as we move ever closer to the rebirth of ECW after One Night Stand. Until our paths next meet take care. Shaun. Comments/praise/feedback/criticism please direct to shaunmb1@hotmail.com.
