WWE Begins Tournament To Crown New U.S. Champion, Roode & Mahal Advance

On Tuesday night's episode of WWE SmackDown Live, the final blue brand show of 2017, a tournament was announced and started to crown a new WWE United States Champion.

After leaving the U.S. Championship in the ring on last week's show, Dolph Ziggler vacated the title, according to SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan.

Because of this, a tournament kicked off on Tuesday night's show designed to determine the next title holder.

Thus far, Bobby Roode defeated Baron Corbin and Jinder Mahal beat Tye Dillinger in first round matches to advance in the eight man tournament.
