One of the main events for the first WWE pay-per-view of 2018 was made official during the first episode of WWE SmackDown Live of the new year.

On Tuesday night's edition of WWE SmackDown Live, A.J. Styles challenged both Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to a handicap match at the upcoming WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view, with his WWE Championship on-the-line.

SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan went on to confirm the match, which would presumably see either Owens or Zayn claim the WWE Championship with a pinfall or submission over Styles.

WWE Royal Rumble 2018 is scheduled to take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sunday, January 28th, airing live via pay-per-view and on the WWE Network. Join us here at Rajah.com on 1/28 for live play-by-play results coverage of the show.
