Rey Mysterio soared in his SmackDown return last week, winning a Championship Competition to become the No. 1 Contender for The Great Khali’s World Heavyweight Title at Unforgiven. Then why is he jeopardizing his championship opportunity on SmackDown this Friday night, by accepting Chavo Guerrero’s challenge to an “I Quit” Match? The Sultan of the 619 already defeated Guerrero at SummerSlam, so what more does he have to prove? One has to wonder if Mysterio has truly considered the added pressure a contest like this may produce on his surgically repaired knee, which resulted when his last “I Quit” Match with Chavo put him out of action for 10 months. If painful history repeats itself Friday night, will Rey find himself out of the World Title hunt?

United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter & Matt Hardy were Ballin’ last Friday when they won their ultimate challenge together, defeating Deuce & Domino for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Though Hardy set them up for the win, MVP shoved him out of the ring to score the three-count and celebrate with both the U.S. and tag team gold. Will Matt have anything to say to his biggest rival and unlikely partner next week? How long can this odd couple put their personal differences aside to retain their new bling?

Also next Friday on SmackDown, Mr. McMahon and Jonathan Coachman continue their search for the Chairman’s bastard Superstar son. As the most talked-about sex scandal in sports-entertainment continues to unfold, what other clues will shed some light into Mr. McMahon’s sticky situation?

Find out the answers to these questions and more on SmackDown this Friday night, 8/7 CT, only on The CW Network.
