RAW Opening: LIVE from Lafayette, Louisiana, six days before SummerSlam, the
WWF presents RAW is WAR! We are first treated to replays of SmackDown's
everyone vs. the Rock developments, including Kurt Angle helping Triple H pin
the Champ. Pyros flare, welcomes are issued, and RAW officially begins. JR
announces that Jerry Lawler has not yet arrived. The People's Champ enters
the Cajun Dome, flashing his belt to everyone who cares to see it. Rock says
he is in the home of the Bayou, of the Cajuns, and the state shaped like a
boot. Speaking of boots, Rock has a boot that he wishes to spread jambalaya,
gumbo, and Louisiana hot sauce on, then proceed to shove up Triple H's ass so
far it comes out his mouth, and then with a new batch on hot sauce on it,
shoved up Kurt Angle's ass. He says both want to take Rock's title, and both
want to win the heart of "$2 worth of rancid meat." He says he won't wait
until SummerSlam to get some revenge; he wants it tonight. The sounds of
cars crashing can only mean the entrance of the Commissioner, Mick Foley.
Foley says he knows how Rock feels, because he once was WWF Champ, consumed
with hatred. He says that with SummerSlam less than a week away, that hatred
can cause titles to be lost. He says he considers himself popular, but he
must make an unpopular decision, that of giving the Rock the night off. This
prompts King Kurt Angle, with Shane along side, to enter. Kurt says Foley
tried to question Kurt's integrity by turning Angle against his friends. He
says he bashed Rock with a chair, helping Triple H, and proving his
integrity. He says Rock may have lost a match, but Angle gained a friend.
Triple H and Steph now enter, and the two full-time wrestlers shake hands.
Trips says Kurt showed integrity, and he admits it made him proud. Kurt
stood by his side, and nothing will make people his friends quicker than them
bashing Rock with a chair. He says Rock must be upset, after having lost on
Thursday. He says that with family problems behind him, he can get back to
beating the Rock's ass. He says if Rock is so upset, he can put the title on
the line in a match tonight, and we will see a new Champ. Rock begins to
speak, but Mick intervenes. Mick, citing the fact that Trips' ears are
smaller than his nose, says he gave Rock the night off. He says he decided
to pit Triple H and Angle against the Acolytes, and to remember that there
are two title matches tonight. Shane says he didn't think Foley was serious,
but Foley says he was. He says if Shane is able to stand after the Hardcore
title match, he can root on Stephanie in her title match against Lita. Steph
says it is fine with her, because when all is said and done, she will pin
Lita for the third time. Foley says that he can tell Steph has the fortitude
to make this match into a brawl, which is why he has to appoint a referee to
maintain law and order, someone who has no ill-feelings towards the McMahons,
someone like...The Rock! Everyone begins yelling. In the back, Tazz arrives
and immediately knocks down an attendant. As Tazz walks to his dressing
room, a pile of boxes, cans, and poles are knocked onto him. Jerry Lawler
appears from where the pile fell, and jumps onto the fallen Tazz and starts
punching away. Commercial. The Hardy Boys vs. The Dudley Boys: Jerry Lawler makes his royal entrance to
the ring. Replay of Lawler's attack. King takes his seat at the announce
table, saying he gave Tazz a free sample of SummerSlam. JR says he heard
Foley is telling Tazz to leave the arena. The Hardys enter, as we see a
replay of Steph beating on Lita on HeAT. The D-Bombs drop, and the Dudleys
enter. Replay of Jeff and D-Von miscommunication during their tag match on
SmackDown! Just as the two sets of "brothers" are about to go at it, Edge
and Christian come down ringside. The bell rings, and Matt starts off with
D-Von. E&C sit at the announce table, as D-Von takes control of Matt and
tags BuhBuh. Matt pokes BuhBuh in the eye and tags Jeff. Jeff hits a flying
crossbody on BuhBuh 1-2-kickout. Jeff goes for a springboard head scissors,
but BuhBuh catches him and slams him. Edge and Christian say that rather
than Tables, Ladders, and Chairs, TLC really means This Lacks Coolness.
BuhBuh and Jeff battle, with Jeff hitting a corkscrew moonsault on BuhBuh.
Tag to Matt, who gets double teamed by the Dudleys, with D-Von diving into
Matt's groin. As the Dudleys go out to get a table, Matt hits a suicide dive
onto both men. Poetry in Motion to D-Von 1-2-kickout. Both tag, and Jeff
dropkicks BuhBuh. Powerslam by BuhBuh 1-2-kickout. Jeff flips out of a Full
Nelson slam, but can't escape BuhBuh, who does hit the Full Nelson slam. All
four go outside, where they yell at Edge. Edge spears Matt. In the ring,
Jeff misses a Swanton Bomb, but gets hit with a 3-D. Christian distracts the
ref, while Edge runs in with a chair and cracks it across BuhBuh's skull.
Jeff rolls on top for the 1-2-3! E&C run out, celebrating. In the back,
Trish is complaining to Val Venis about a mixed tag match tonight. Val says
he set it up because Eddie Guerrero has experience, as does Chyna, but Trish
does not. So to get ready for SummerSlam, this is Trish's lesson.
Commercial.Val Venis & Trish Stratus vs. Crash Holly & Ivory: Triple H is telling his
three friends that will all stay together, but the biggest thing for them is
the Acolytes, which Kurt agrees with. Shane says that his Hardcore Title
match is the biggest thing, but Steph says her title defense is the biggest.
Trips and Kurt discuss their match, while Shane and Steph argue. Val and
Trish enter, with Trish looking reluctant. In the back, Eddie and Chyna are
watching. Chyna goes to attack, but Eddie holds her back, saying they are
creampuffs, and they have nothing to worry about. Ivory and Crash enter.
Val and Crash start. Val takes it to Crash, whipping him into the
turnbuckles. Crash floats out of a suplex and starts to take control. In
the back, Chyna tries to attack again, but Eddie holds her back again. Tag
to Trish, who hits a bulldog on Crash 1-pushed off. Trish runs back to Val
and tags out. Val takes it to Crash again, until both men hit clotheslines
on each other. Both women reach for tags, but only Ivory gets one. Ivory
runs over and flips Trish into the ring. She hits a scoop slam on Trish, but
Val powerbombs Ivory. Trish gets on top (get your mind out of the gutter)
for the 1-2-3! In the back, Eddie is praising Chyna, but not watching her,
as she runs to the ring. Chyna knocks Val outside, and sets Trish up for a
powerbomb, but Val rolls in and knocks Chyna in the back, and then the front.
Eddie runs down and chases Val and Trish off. Commercial.Rikishi vs. Kane: Replay of Val helping Trish get the win, followed by
Chyna's interference. In the back, Chyna is telling Foley that she wants a
match with Trish now, and Eddie wants one with Val. Foley says he can't give
them their matches, but he will make their tag match at SummerSlam an
Intercontinental match, meaning whoever pins becomes IC Champ. Rikishi comes
down for his match against Kane, which prompts a replay of Kane turning on
Taker. The stage lights up, and the monster enters. They immediately brawl,
with Rikishi getting the upper hand, until a huge clothesline by Kane. Big
boot by Kane, but a Samoan Drop by Rikishi. They roll outside, where Kane
slams Rikishi into the steps, then grabs a chair. He rolls Rikishi in the
chair, and then enters with the chair. The ref simply points at the chair,
while Kane cracks Rikishi with it. DQ bell is rung, but Rikishi gets up,
only to be cracked with the chair again. Rikishi pops back up and is finally
knocked to the ground with a third chair shot. Too Cool run down to help,
but the RTC do as well. Eventually Too Cool makes it into the ring, but they
get nailed with Kane's chair. The RTC enters after Kane leaves. Bull and
Goodfather pick Scotty and GrandMaster up, and they get hit with two
StevieKicks. Bull hits a flying ax kick on the fallen Rikishi. In the back,
we see the Acolytes leave their office, and Triple H and Angle walking
through the halls as well. Commercial.Triple H & Kurt Angle vs. The Acolytes: Kurt comes out first, followed by
his new friend Triple H. We see Rock watching from the back. Noticeably
absent are both wrestlers' McMahons. The Acolytes enter and immediately
brawl. Bradshaw clotheslines Triple H to the outside, so the aPa double team
on Kurt. Faarooq hits a spinebuster, and both men tag. Triple H tries to
reason with Bradshaw, only to fool him. Fallaway slam by Bradshaw. Tag to
Angle. Big boot by Bradshaw, followed by two elbow drops 1-2-kickout. Tag
to Faarooq, and we see Rock in the back, now joined by Foley. Faarooq misses
an ax handle smash, and Angle hits a suplex on him. Tag to Bradshaw, who
knocks Triple H off the apron, so the Acolytes can double on Angle 1-2-broken
by Triple H. Bradshaw hits a double clothesline on the men, and then cleans
house. Eventually the two heels are able to take out Bradshaw's knee, and
Angle keeps going at it. Tag to Triple H, who goes at the knee. Bradshaw
kicks Trips into the corner, which allows the Texan to fight back, until
Trips hits a big knee 1-2-shoulder up. Shoulder block by Bradshaw, and both
men go down. Both tag, and Faarooq cleans house. Powerslam by Faarooq
1-2-broken by Trips. Bradshaw takes Triple H outside, but Bradshaw meets the
steps. Faarooq has Angle set for a Dominator, but Triple H runs in and kicks
him in the stomach. Dropping Angle, Faarooq is beaten into prime Pedigree
position, and Triple H takes advantage. The two celebrate, but Triple H
leaves, with Angle still celebrating. The Acolytes get up, give Angle a
Clothesline from Hell, and then a double powerbomb. Triple H begins to come
back, but then thinks better of it, and leaves Angle in the middle of the
ring. Commercial.Right To Censor & Mick Foley Interview: Triple H is focusing his attention
of Stephanie's match, when Angle enters, screaming at Triple H. Trips says
the unit is focusing of Steph now, and Angle shouldn't be selfish. The RTC
enter the ring. Steven says that whether we approve or disapprove of the RTC
is irrelevant, as is their actions. All that matters is the outcome. He
says they will fight the good fight against anyone who is inappropriate, like
Rikishi, who "set a bad example." He asks if we would live in a world with
our children's rear ends sticking out, rubbing their behinds in others'
faces. He shows a replay of Kane hitting Rikishi with the chair. Steven
says that if the WWF won't censor itself, they will. The cars crash, and
Mick Foley enters. He says he was in the back trying to eat his shrimp, and
lost his appetite listening to these guys. He says these people worked hard
to get that shrimp ("Shrimpin' ain't easy!"), and that they deserve to see
whatever they want. He says the RTC is keeping the WWF from being fun, but
what will be fun will be Bull and Goodfather facing Too Cool and Rikishi at
SummerSlam. He then says that he appreciates good sportsmanship as much as
Steven, so to even it up, Steven will join his minions in the match. In the
back, Shane brings Pete Gas and Rodney out and says that they have both been
Hardcore Champ already, and pumps them up to attack Blackman. They get
pumped and run at Blackman, who takes them out with ease. Blackman spots
Shane and chases him around. Commercial.Chris Jericho vs. Perry Saturn (European Title): Kurt is leaving, but Steph
tries to keep him around. Kurt basically pulls the same "they don't want
me," stuff from SmackDown! and Steph says to forget about Triple H, and that
she needs Angle's support for her match. Kurt agrees to stay. In the arena,
the Y2J Countdown hits 00 and the Ayatollah makes his entrance. Perry
enters, without Terri, who is at WWF New York right now (well, while I'm
typing this, probably not while you're reading it). Perry takes it to
Jericho in the corner, but Jericho hits a clothesline. Odd flapjack-type
move by Perry. Jericho hits a bulldog 1-2-shoulder up. Back elbow by
Jericho. Jericho goes for a Lionsault, but Perry grabs him off the ropes and
hits a suplex. Perry slams Jericho into the corner, but Jericho knocks
Saturn off when he tries to climb the turnbuckle. Flying back elbow by
Jericho 1-2-broken by Benoit! Ref calls for a DQ, and Saturn walks away
while Jericho and Benoit go nuts on each other. The refs had separated the
two, but Jericho dives over the ropes onto Benoit and the refs holding him
back. They continue this brawl for minutes on end. In the back, Trish is
getting a drink, when Shane enters the room. He says he has something to ask
Trish in private, and the two walk off. Commercial.Shane McMahon vs. Steve Blackman (Hardcore Title): In the back, Triple H is
showing Steph moves, but Angle says he is showing her wrong. They compare
accolades, with Steph telling Triple H to let Angle show her some moves to
make him feel included. Triple H reluctantly agrees, but says he'll be right
outside the door. Steve Blackman is walking to the ring, when he gets jumped
by Test. Test works Blackman over through the sound area and the fans. Test
has a ref, so he is apparently ready to win the title. Test gets trashcan
lids and nails Blackman with them. Test throws the trashcan in the ring.
Test boots the lid into Blackman's face. Test puts the trashcan on
Blackman's midsection, and Test goes up top. Blackman gets up and throws the
can into Test, knocking him off the turnbuckle. Blackman nails Test in the
back of the head with the lid and goes for the pin, when Albert makes his way
out. T&A double team Blackman. Test gets a fire extinguisher, but when he
goes to spray Blackman, Steve kicks the nozzle into Albert's face, and Albert
gets blinded. Blackman nails Test with his sticks. Albert goes for an
Albert Bomb, but Blackman hits him with his sticks. Edge and Christian come
down and take it to Blackman, who does fight back. With his focus on Edge
and Christian, Blackman doesn't see Shane run in with a kendo stick, which he
nails into Blackman's skull 1-2-3! Shane McMahon is your new Hardcore Champ!
He celebrates with Edge and Christian. Commercial.Foley & Shane Segment; Triple H, Steph & Angle Segment: In the back, Shane
is celebrating with Edge and Christian, when Foley comes to congratulate
Shane, and says he is booking a rematch at SummerSlam. Shane lays down and
tells Edge and Christian to pin him. The two decide that double gold would
be cool, so Foley says they can both pin him and be co-champs. They pin him
and Foley drops down 1-2-no, no, he can't do that. He says he is waiving the
24/7 rule so that Shane will keep the title, and that he is booking an
impromptu tag match with Edge and Christian against DX. We see that the Kat
is at WWF New York, and replays run of Kat getting Rikishi to StinkFace
Terri. In the dressing room, Angle is showing Steph a submission move, that
she says really hurts. He then shows her a move from behind, which causes
Triple H to enter and push Angle around. He says they've been going at it
for 30 minutes. Steph says it hasn't been 30 minutes, and Angle says he has
only shown 3 moves. Triple H says Angle is the slowest teacher in the world,
but walks off. Commercial.Edge & Christian vs. Road Dogg & X-Pac (Tag Titles): Tape is shown of Kat
speaking at WWF New York, when Terri tackles her from behind, and gives her a
StinkFace! JR says Foley told Shane to leave, even though there is no 24/7
defense until SummerSlam. The tag champs come out first. Replay of E&C's
involvement earlier tonight. Road Dogg and X-Pac enter together, with their
problems seemingly behind them. Road Dogg welcomes us to the Dogg House. He
tells Edge and Christian that they should use flash photography to take
pictures of their belts because it is the last time they'll see them. X-Pac
controls Edge with a spinning heel kick. Tag to Christian who takes control
until X-Pac hits a lariat. Tag to Road Dogg, who gets a two count. Edge
pulls Road Dogg outside, where he gets baseball slid by Edge. JR says he has
just been told X-Pac will face Road Dogg, and that Foley just thought of it.
In the ring, Christian has Dogg in a sleeper, which Dogg dances out of, and
both men hit cross bodies on each other. Dogg hits Shake, Rattle and Roll on
Edge and Christian 1-2-broken by Edge. X-Pac takes out Edge, and Road Dogg
sets Christian up for a pumphandle slam, but X-Pac pulls him out for a
X-Factor. The DXers fight, and Edge spears X-Pac. The Dudleys run down with
a table, and they chase Edge and Christian off through the crowd. In the
ring, X-Pac and Dogg are arguing still. Road Dogg shoves X-Pac, who head
butts Road Dogg off the apron, through the Dudleys' table. In the halls,
Lita is walking to the ring for her title shot. Commercial.Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley vs. Lita (Women's Title) with Special Guest
Referee The Rock: Lita (or "mmmmmmmmm...Lita...mmmmmmmm..." to
rajah.com's The Commissioner). Stephanie enters with Triple H and Kurt
Angle at her side. Rock's music hits, and the unbiased People's Champ enters
the ring, telling Triple H and Angle that they need to leave. Angle and
Triple H calm Steph and get out of the ring, but stay at ringside. Lita
takes quick advantage, tackling Steph. Hairtoss by Lita. Steph hits a big
boot, but takes a hiptoss from Lita. Hurricanrana by Lita 1-2-kickout. Yes,
Steph kicked out. While Angle distracts Rock, Triple H trips Lita. The
Hardys run down and beat on Triple H, to even the score. Steph kicks Lita in
the corner. Monkey flip from the corner by Steph, followed by a DDT
1-2-kickout. Yes, Steph hit some nice moves. Steph complains to Rock about
his counting, but Rock hears none of it. Slaps by Steph. Twisting
head-scissors by Lita. Clothesline by Lita. Lita hits a springboard bulldog
1-2-kickout. Suplex by Lita. Lita calls for the moonsault, but Kurt Angle
pushes her off the turnbuckle. The Hardys go after Angle, but Triple H helps
his Olympic friend. Angle then shows Steph the title, but Rock sees him and
pulls him in. Rock beats on Angle, but Triple H comes in and gets some of
Rock. Angle tries to hit Rock with the belt, but hits Triple H. Rock Bottom
on Angle, Rock Bottom on Stephanie. Rock tells Lita to go up top, and she
does. Moonsault by Lita 1-2-3! Lita wins the WWF Women's Title belt! The
Hardys run in and pick Lita up on their shoulders. The trio celebrates as we
go off air. End Show.
