- Live from Richmond, Virginia and with Jonathan Coachman and Jerry Lawler for commentary, it's WWE Raw!
Kevin Nash Interview
- Kevin Nash is introduced by Lilian Garcia and Nash comes down and takes a mic. He says that he's glad to be back after nine long months but at the same time, he's not so glad to be back. While he was rehabbing his injury, he saw Triple H and Shawn Michaels trying to kill each other. They're buddies, they shouldn't be doing that so he's back to be with his friends. When he came back last week, they were at each others' throats again and he was right in the middle. Nash says Eric Bischoff can make all the matches he wants but he can't decide who he will be friends with and all three of him, Triple H and Shawn Michaels are friends. Triple H's music hits and he comes out to meet Nash in the ring. They embrace in the ring and shake hands. Triple H says it's glad to see him back. Last week they had a misunderstanding and he appreciates where he's coming from but let's get one thing straight - it will never be over between him and Shawn Michaels. They won't bury the hatchet, things will never be the same. Even if Shawn came down to the ring and kissed his ass, it wouldn't make a difference. This prompts Shawn Michaels to come running down. He goes face to face with Triple H but Nash intervenes. Michaels says Triple H is right, they are never going to bury the hatchet. Nash breaks them up and asks: "can't we all just get along?". Triple H says no and Nash has to make a choice - it's either Shawn Michaels or it's me, Triple H. You go one way or the other. Triple H says if Nash goes with him, you will know where you stand - one step behind me. Trips says he's the man around here, he's the leader, he's the General, he calls all the shots and that's the way it works. But at least he shoots straight, he will look you straight in the eye and tell it like a man. But with Shawn Michaels, behind your back, he will be undercutting you, stealing your spotlight, stealing your thunder. That's what he does. Triple H asks him again to make his decision and says if he comes with him, it will be "us against the world. But if you go with Shawn, you become part of the world that I am against." Triple H leaves and tells Nash to think long and hard about one thing: the most success that both he and Nash ever had were when they walked away from Shawn Michaels. As Triple H walks away, Nash and Michaels engage in a long stare.
- Backstage, Stacy Keibler is looking through a gym bag. She finally gets to Torrie Wilson's Playboy when Test comes up and asks her why she's going through his stuff. An angered Stacy asks him why he has the Playboy and then storms off before Test can explain himself.- We come back to see Jerry Lawler talking about what an emotional week it's been for him. He misses JR and Coach wishes Ross the best and says we have to move on. They then talk about the ultimatum issued to Kevin Nash by Triple H.
Test vs. Chris Jericho
- Test comes out with Stacy Keibler. Jericho comes out next and immediately attacks Test with kicks in the corner. Test fights back with chops and then a clothesline. He starts slamming Jericho's head on the mat before Gorilla-pressing him and throwing him to the ground. Test then misses a charge in the corner and Jericho regains the advantage by shoving Test's shoulder in the steel post. While Test is getting beat up in the ring, Keibler ignores the action and starts signing autographs at ringside. Stacy continues to play to the crowd and Lawler speculates that she's not showing Test any attention because Test isn't showing her any. Inside the ring, Jericho works over Test's arm but is caught in a sidewalk slam. Match progresses until Jericho hits a reversal and tries to use the ropes for leverage but only gets two. As Test recovers, Stacy once again distracts the fans by teasing taking off her bottom but then stops as Jericho gains back the advantage. Tests finally hits the Pump Handle slam but Jericho gets his foot on the ropes as Stacy once again shakes her ass at the fans. Test gets distracted allowing Jericho to get up and hit the Lionsault for the 1-2-3. After the match, Test screams at Stacy but she just turns around and walks away. Meanwhile, Test approaches the fan that got the autograph and pulls him over the ramp and beats him up and then tosses him back over.
- Backstage, Eric Bischoff says that ever since he fired Steve Austin, he's been bombarded with phone calls, faxes and emails from fans of Stone Cold Steve Austin who want him back. So he's been forced to listen to the people and tonight he will do what's best for Austin's fans.- Backstage, Stacy and Test argue over what just happened. Test opens up the Playboy and starts comparing Torrie to Stacy. He says Torrie's legs are worse than Stacy's and her face is as well. He then gets to Torrie's breasts and says "well they're big" which cause Stacy to storm off angrily. Test yells out "two out of three isn't bad baby!".
Ivory & Trish Stratus vs. Victoria & Jazz
- Back in the arena, Ivory (who I guess is a face now?) and Trish Stratus come out for their tag team match. Their opponents, Victoria and Jazz (along with Theodore Long) come out next. Long joins Coach and King for commentary during the match. Ivory and Victoria start but soon tag out to Trish and Jazz. The match disintegrates as all hell breaks loose leaving Trish and Jazz in the ring. Jazz puts a half Boston-crab on and then turns it into the STF for the submission victory. After the match, Jazz refuses to let go. [Sidenote from Rajah: Jonathan Coachman is probably the worst PBP guy around.]
- Backstage, Goldberg is on the phone when Goldust enters his lockerroom. He welcomes Goldberg to WWE to which Goldberg says he appreciates it. Goldust says he has a gift and presents him with a blond wig. Goldberg asks him what he's going to do with that? Goldust puts it on Goldberg and says they can be twins. Goldberg thanks him for the gesture but says it looks better on him so he hands it back. Goldberg then says don't ever put that on my head again and leaves. Goldust then apparently pisses his pants.- Backstage, we see Kevin Nash sitting aroud moping his decision.
- Eric Bischoff comes out and says you didn't think I'd bring back Steve Austin did you? Austin is gone forever but he has a special merchandise offer that will allow everyone to remember Austin forever. A man rolls out a box with Austin memorabilia. The Stone Cold "Alcohol Fueled" and "Bullet Proof" shirt. They then flash up a graphic with a "special offer" and plug wweshopzone.com saying you can order it there. If you order right now, you get a special WM 19 collector's edition magazine. Why is it a collector's edition? Because it's the very last magazine with Steve Austin in it. Bischoff then says that the entire package is available for $39.95 only for tonight. Bischoff adds that the very first person to order also gets a bottle of JR's BBQ sauce. Booker T's music hits and he comes out and stands in front of Bischoff. Booker says he has a better deal - how about you make up a match: Booker T vs. Triple H a Wrestlemania rematch tonight in Richmond for the World title?! Booker then walks off to the back leaving Bischoff to ponder over the request.
- Backstage, Rob Van Dam and Kane are shown walking, presumably towards the ring for their upcoming match.
Rob Van Dam & Kane vs. Lance Storm & Chief Morley (No DQ)
- Storm and Morley attack RVD and Kane but the tables are turned soon thereafter before the match officially begins. Storm starts off by getting the better of Van Dam early on but Van Dam flips away and hits a high cross body for a two count. Kane gets tagged in and he dominates Storm and then Morley for the next few miutes. Storm the comes flying in from nowhere allowing Morley to gain control before tagging out. Double suplex on Kane gets a two count but Kane just pops up and then scoops slams Storm before tagging out to RVD who gets a quick two count. Jawbreaker by Storm allows him to tag out Morley but he's put into a drop toe hold. Morley counters a suplex and a reverse kick but Van Dam corners him and hits him with some right forearms and kicks. They fight around for a while before RVD starts cleaning house on both Storm and Morley but can't get the pin. RVD is then hit in the back with a trash can by Storm so Kane goes over to take him out prompting Morley to blindside him. Kane easily hands him and then grabs the steel steps and tries to hit Storm with it, but he's beaten to the punch as Storm slams a garbage can back in his face. In the ring, Morley tries to pin RVD but can only get to two. Commercial.. We come back to see Storm with a chinlock on RVD. Storm and Morley try to double team RVD but it backfires as Van Dam hits a double DDT allowing him to tag out to Kane. Kane goes nuts on both heels and tries to cover Storm but Morley interferes bringing in RVD into the ring. Oh yeah, this is a no-DQ match which is why there is constant double teaming. Kane flattens Morley with a clothesline and then RVD follows it up with the Rolling Thunder. Storm, the legal man, gets pressed and thrown onto his tag team parnter. Kane signals for a chokeslam on Morley but Bubba Ray Dudley hits Kane from behind and hits the Bubba Bomb on RVD. D-Von runs in and gets into an argument with Bubba. Morley comes in and starts shoving with D-Von. He tries to hit D-Von with a chair but Bubba takes it away. As Morley demands the chair, Bubba gives it to him but at this moment, RVD springs up and hits the Van Daminator. Elsewhere, Kane sets up Storm in the corner and holds the chair in place as RVD hits the Van Terminator from the other side. Kane covers Storm and gets the victory.
- Backstage, Eric Bischoff meets with Ric Flair and Triple H. Triple H asks Bischoff is he's actually considering giving a match to Booker T. Flair wants a reason so Hurricane swooshes in and says he can give three reasons: 1. Last week, Booker T pinned Triple H, 2. If it wasn't for Ric Flair, Booker T would have won at Wrestlemania, 3. If Bischoff doesn't, whassupwitdat?! Triple H tells Hurricane to scram but he doesn't and suggests that if Booker can beat Flair, then Booker gets a title shot. Triple H says no, how about if he faces Hurricane and if he kicks Hurricane's ass, then Booker T gets nothing. Bischoff then decides that Booker T and Hurricane will team up to take on Flair and Triple H tonight and if Booker's team wins, he gets the title shot.- They show Ron Simmons and Bradshaw meeting some of the troops that participated in the War with Iraq.
- Rock is interviewed via satellite. He says he's sorry he can't be there live. He announces that next week in Atlanta, he will present Evening with the Rock Part 2. Coach asks him about Goldberg and why Rock said no to a match. Rock says that he has nothing to prove, he has done it all, he has beaten them all. Bill Goldberg has nothing. Rock also re-affirms that he's not scared of anyone, least of all Bill Goldberg. Rock then says if Bill Goldberg wants him at Backlash, he has it. Rock says that he won't be next, but Goldberg will be next - the next victim to the Brahma Bull.
- Backstage, Christian is on the phone with the Rock. He tells the Rock that he will seize his advice tonight by beating Goldust tonight. Some arena workers are nearby so Christian chases them off saying they shouldn't eavesdrop on the conversations of celebrities. He goes on to tell the Rock that he's excited for next week's concert and takes a couple shots at the hometown crowd. Christian tells the Rock to watch his match tonight and if Goldberg comes in his way then he'll take care of him too.
Christian vs. Goldust
- The match itself is really short as Christian gets disqualified for kicking Goldust in the groin area. After the match, he hits Goldust again and then takes a mic and asks if the Rock is watching. He's on such a roll tonight that he wants Goldberg one-on-one tonight. Goldberg obliges and flattens Christianwith a vicious spear. He hits the Jackhammer I think it's called (a suplex slam) and leaves Christian writhing in pain.Scott Steiner vs. Christopher Nowinski (Debate)
- Scott Steiner comes out for his debate with Christopher Nowinski. Nowinski is already in the ring and Jerry Lawler is the "referee". The topic is: Iraqi Operation Freedom. Steiner will argue in favor of the operation and Nowinski will argue against it. Nowinski asks if the US should invade and overthrow every small country? Or do we only overtake countries that have oil? Steiner's up next and says that he's wrestled in a lot of countries and America is the best. Steiner says opinions are like *ssholes, everyone has one. Terrorism started this not us and Iraq has been known to harbor terrorists. They drew first blood on 9/11 and we're just getting even and finishing it. Nowinski finally says that the only view Steiner understands is one that takes three minutes and with that the Three Minute Warning Come out. Steiner takes out Jamal and Rico at first but then Nowinski grabs his leg and the four of them beat up Steiner with Jamal heading to the top for a splash.
- We come back as Coach and Jerry Lawler once again talk about JR. Lawler says he wanted to show the footage again but Bischoff has forbiden it. Coach talks as if JR is gone forever, thanking him for his years of service and what not.- They announce that Trish Stratus vs. Jazz has been added to the Backlash card along with Rock vs. Goldberg.
Triple H & Ric Flair vs. Booker T & Hurricane
- Triple H's entrance then takes up the next three minutes or so. We also see Kevin Nash watching backstage on a TV and Booker T and Hurricane walking in the back. Commercial... Booker T and Ric Flair start things off with Booker getting the advantage with numerous chops in the corner. Flair elbows him and heads to the top but is caught and bodyslammed down. Tag to Triple H but Booker T takes him down with a spinebuster and gets a two count. Tag to Hurricane who continues the assault on Triple H but eventually he's put into a spinebuster himself, allowing Triple H to tag out to Flair. They double team in the corner and make a quick tag putting Triple H back in. Hurricane finally sprints over to Booker for a tag and Booker goes chop crazy on Flair again. Triple H comes in to the rescue but Booker T abuses him too. Hurricane ends up tagging himself in but there's more interference from Triple H which causes Booker T to take him out. Hurricane heads to the top, but Flair moves the ropes, crotching Hurricane. Back in the middle of the ring, Booker T hits Flair with a scissors kick but before he can cover him, Triple H pulls him out. Back inside, Hurricane misses from the top rope while outside, the referee stops Triple H from using the chair. With the ref distracted and with Flair going for the Figure Four in the ring, Shawn Michaels sneaks in and hits him with the Superkick. Hurricanes rolls over and overs Flair for the 1-2-3.
- After the match, Michaels and Triple H go at it but Jericho comes in. Triple H grabs a sledgehammer and is about to use it on Shawn when Kevin Nash emerges from the back. He goes towards Triple H and looks at him face to face and smiles. Nash then grabs the sledgehammer from Triple H and goes towards. Nash then turns around and inadvertently hits Booker T which causes Booker to snap and inadvertently hit Shawn Michaels. Booker T storms off as Michaels and Booker T look at him. These three will team up at Backlash to take on Triple H, Chris Jericho and Ric Flair.End show.
