RAW Opening: TAPE DELAYED, from Greensboro, NC, twenty-four hours since Val
Venis and Shane McMahon lost their titles, Kane lost his mask, and the Rock
lost, well...nothing, the WWF presents RAW is SECOND TO TENNIS! All jokes
aside, I'd like to welcome the probably large group of first-time RAW Report
readers by saying, "Where the hell have you been?" OK, let's start for real
this time. We start Michael Cole talking with Mick Foley. Foley says he has
assembled an all-star card tonight, including four title matches. In the
garage, Triple H is waiting for Stephanie to arrive, and we hear that he
hasn't seen Steph since she was carried away at SummerSlam. Pyros flare,
welcomes are issued, and RAW officially begins. The Y2J Countdown hits 00,
and the Ayatollah makes his entrance for this six man tag match featuring
Jericho and the Acolytes against Chris Benoit and T&A. Replay of all three
falls in Jericho and Benoit's match last night. The aPa enter, followed by
Test and Albert, accompanied by Trish. The Crippler comes out, and Jericho
immediately goes after him. Jericho and Benoit fight down the ramp, with
Jericho throwing Benoit back in the ring. Chops by Jericho. Jericho hits a
dropkick from up top, and then brawls with Benoit. Underhook backbreaker by
Jericho, followed by a clothesline. Tag to Test, who gets a drop toe hold
from Jericho. Tag to Faarooq. Big boot by Test. Powerslam by Faarooq
1-2-kickout. Tag to Bradshaw. Double spinebuster by the Acolytes. Russian
leg sweep by Bradshaw 1-2-kickout. Neckbreaker by Test to change the
momentum. Bradshaw knocks Albert off the apron. Albert comes back and
splashes into Bradshaw before tagging. Scoop slam by Albert, followed by a
splash 1-2-kickout. Tag to Benoit, who beats on Bradshaw and then tags back
to Albert. Both men go down. Tag to Faarooq, but Jericho tags himself in as
well. Bulldog by Jericho, who then knocks Benoit off the apron. The
Acolytes take care of business outside, while Albert hits an airplane spin
into a neckbreaker 1-2-kickout. Albert had Jericho set up for a press slam,
but Bradshaw gave him a boot to the face. Jericho hits the Lionsault for the
1-2-3! We see Triple H in the back, and he is approached by X-Pac. They
shake hands. Triple H explains about him hitting her during the match. He
says he has a feeling that wherever she is, she's with Kurt Angle. X-Pac
jokes that at least she's in good hands. This pisses Triple H off, and he
walks off. Commercial.Triple H/Kurt Angle Segment: Triple H is talking to Road Dogg about the
situation. Road Dogg says she can take care of herself, and not to worry.
We hear Kurt Angle's music, as does Triple H, and we see The Game run to the
arena. We cut to the arena, where Kurt makes his entrance. He says that
last night he suffered a concussion, and as a result, he doesn't remember
much about last night. He says he could've told his grandkids about
SummerSlam, but after what Triple H did to him, he has a complete blank.
Because of his concussion, his grandkids will never hear about SummerSlam
2000. What he does remember, is that he came to the ring and competed, after
his concussion. He knows Triple H hit his wife in the middle of the ring,
and then got his ass kicked by the Rock. He says he also knows that he came
back to help Steph and brought her to the safety of medical professionals.
He says Triple H has always been a shady character, and what he did to Steph
is deplorable, and possibly criminal. It may be acceptable in the backward st
ate of North Carolina, but it is not to him. He says Triple H was a lousy
WWF Champ, but he is an even lousier husband. This signals Triple H's
entrance, and boy is he pissed. Trips comes into the ring, and face to face
with Angle. He says he is going to set things straight. Last night, Angle
didn't get a concussion, he was given a concussion by the Game. He says he
beat Angle senseless, but now he wants to know where Stephanie is, and if he
doesn't respond now, what he will do to Angle will definitely be criminal.
Angle says that Triple H is insinuating a kidnapping, but that's more like
Triple H. He says he doesn't remember SummerSlam, and doesn't know where
Steph is. Triple H says Angle comes out every night and plays the Ignorant
Jackass, and he is great at it, but he isn't buying Angle's story. He says
he is certainly a shady character, and Angle isn't fooling him. Triple H
again demands to know where Steph is. Kurt says that before he gets his ass
beat, Triple H should know Angle is an Olympic gold medalist, and always
tells the truth. He says maybe Steph hasn't talked to Triple H because she's
scared, or maybe when she was hit, sense was knocked into her, and she
realized the bastard Triple H is. This prompts Triple H to push Kurt through
the ropes and to the floor. The refs pile down to keep the two away. In the
back, Chyna says she feels sorry for Triple H. Eddie says he doesn't know
how to treat a lady, and that she shouldn't worry about Hunter, but rather,
her IC Title defense against Val Venis. Commercial.Val Venis vs. Chyna (IC Title): Mamacita pinned Trish last night, but now
she must defend against Val. Chyna and Eddie enter first. Val comes out,
but without Trish. Val starts out quickest, with a clothesline and then some
stomps. Val tosses Chyna outside. We see that Trish has come onto the ramp.
Back in the ring, Val is still in control. Stomps by Val 1-2-shoulder up.
Scoop slam by Val 1-2-shoulder up. Val chokes Chyna on the ropes, but Eddie
makes him stop. Big vertical suplex by Val 1-2-kickout. Back elbow by
Chyna, but Val comes right back. Clothesline by Chyna, followed by the back
handspring elbow. DDT by Chyna 1-2-kickout. Chyna goes for a powerbomb, but
Val counters into a catapult into the turnbuckle. Val chokes Chyna with his
boot, but Eddie runs in to stop it. This allows Chyna to get up and slap
Val. Low blow by Chyna, followed by the testicular claw, now with jumping
action. Chyna knocks Val outside, where he drops Eddie on the security
barrier. Spinebuster by Val, who then motions for the Money Shot. Trish
starts to walk down, but then sees Trish. He drops down and starts yelling
to Trish to get out of here. Eddie follows him up, and beats him back down
to the ring. Eddie throws Val in the ring, allowing Chyna to school boy (or
girl) him for the 1-2-3! Val becomes irate and runs up the ramp. In the
back, Michael Cole asks Kurt Angle if he really doesn't remember what
happened. He says he was told a lot about what happened last night, but now
that he has had time to think, he remembers that after the hospital, he was
at a hotel. He remembers Steph there, and then remembers being in room 814,
which was his room. No, now that he thinks, he remembers that it was
Stephanie's room. He smiles and walks off. Commercial.Steven Richards vs. Rikishi: The Right To Censor come down, and JR says
Steven demanded a match against Rikishi. Replay of Steven hitting the
StevieKick (or is that now the StevenKick) on Scotty during the Worm. Steven
says he won a battle for decency and morality. He can't fathom why he still
gets booed. He says our forefathers never meant free speech to go this far.
He says Rikishi's butt, like violence and scantily clad women, is
unacceptable. He says Rikishi's bringing hoes to the ring makes this
personal. He says someone has to fight for our children and make this world
a better place and someone has to teach Rikishi the words "appropriate
behavior." He says he will continue to censor those things deemed
inappropriate, and that he knows what is best. Rikishi, Too Cool, Mandy and
Victoria dance their way to the ring. The RTC run in and take out Too Cool,
but Steven gets a Superkick from Rikishi, then a butt to the gut in the
corner. Steven drops into StinkFace position, but the RTC run in. Rikishi
ducks their clothesline and gives them one of his own. He goes back to
Steven, but Bull pulls him out of the ring. The RTC walk back up the ramp,
as this fun loving fivesome break it down. In the back, Triple H is somber.
Chyna comes in, and she asks how he is doing. He says with this whole Kurt
Angle thing, he thinks his marriage is falling apart. She says love is hard,
and marriage is even harder. She says trust is the single most important
thing in a relationship, and that is why she and Eddie are so good together,
because they love and trust each other. She tells Triple H to put faith in
his marriage and things will work out. Triple H thanks her, and the two hug.
Just then, Eddie comes in, yelling at them. He asks what his Mamacita is
doing, and then pushes Triple H down. Chyna demands he leave, and the two
walk out. Triple H screams "Has everybody here lost their minds?"
Commercial.Edge & Christian Segment: Replay of Eddie proving Chyna wrong about their
relationship. The Tag Champs enter, limping and holding various body parts.
Christian says that normally they'd do their shtick, but after the TLC Match,
they can't do it. Edge says that they have more respect for Matt, Jeff,
D-Von, and BuhBuh than anyone in the world. He says the Dudleys aren't here,
but the Hardys are, and they'd like to shake the hands of North Carolina's
Hardy Boys. The Hardys music hits, and two midgets in Hardys shirts come out
with step stools, instead of ladders. Christian says the greatness of the
match didn't come from the Hardys, but rather from Edge and Christian. Just
then, the D-Bombs drop, and two more midgets (who really look like the
Dudleys) come out, with a children's play table. Edge says they were totally
going to shake their opponents hands, but decided to mock their opponent.
Midget BuhBuh screams "Wassssaaaapp!" Midget D-Von yells "Testify!" The
Midget Hardys don't talk, because neither do the real Hardys. They reenact
the TLC Match by pushing the midgets off the small table and ladders. They
then ask for 37 seconds on the TitanTron, for their pose. The countdown
starts and the Tag Champs dance, before holding the belts above the midgets
heads and having them jump. The countdown hits about 7 when the real Hardys
run down. Matt hits the Twist of Fate on Edge, and Jeff puts Poetry in
Motion onto Christian. They go outside and get two ladders, which they hit
Edge with. They set the ladders up, but Christian pulls Edge out. In the
back, Eddie is mad at himself. Angle comes in and stirs Eddie into getting
mad at Triple H instead, and he gets Eddie to go fight Triple H. Commercial.Steve Blackman vs. Tazz (Hardcore Title): Still shots of Shane's incredibly
bump at SummerSlam, followed by Blackman's equally incredibly elbow drop.
Tazz comes out. Tazz says the JR and the King got a hell of a laugh last
night, but they were one inch away from blinding him. Tazz says there will
be three victims tonight, Blackman, Lawler, and JR. He rolls in the ring,
and hits a leg hook suplex on Blackman, and then immediately goes to the
announce table. Blackman throws a trashcan and Tazz catches it, and then he
catches Blackman's boot in the head. They fight in the crowd, and then back
into the ring. Blackman takes Tazz's legs out with a trashcan lid, and then
cracks the lid against the back of Tazz's head. Tazz takes Blackman down,
and gets a leather strap. Tazz whips Blackman with the strap and then hits
Blackman with the trashcan lid. Tazz nails Lawler with the lid, and goes
after JR, but King attacks from behind. Tazz chokes Lawler, until JR gets
the lid and cracks it against Tazz's head. Tazz turns around and receives
Steve Blackman flying kick into him 1-2-3! Tazz gets up and goes after
Lawler again, but King hits him with a chair. In the back, Joe comes into
Triple H's room. Triple H won't hear any of Joe's talk and sends him out.
Just then, Eddie runs in and says that he talked with Foley, and it's the two
of them tonight. Triple H says Eddie wrote a check his ass can't cash, but
Eddie tells Triple H to come and cash it. Commercial.Lita vs. Jacqueline (Women's Title): Replay of Triple H and Eddie getting
into it. Lita comes out for her first title defense. Jacqui comes down.
Jacqui starts out quickest, but Lita takes her down. Two more takedowns by
Lita 1-2-kickout. Hairtoss by Lita, followed by a kick to the head
1-2-kickout. Thrust kick by Jacqui, who goes up top, but Lita knocks her
down. Lita goes for a Superplex, but Jacqui pushes her off. Jacqui goes on
the offensive, even hitting a float-over DDT 1-2-shoulder up. Flapjack by
Jacqui 1-2-shoulder up. Jacqui goes up top and hits a flying cross body
1-2-shoulder up. Reverse DDT by Lita, followed by two clotheslines. Lita
hits her version of the Twist of Fate, and then the moonsault 1-2-3! Lita
retains, but looks hurt. As she goes to leave, Edge and Christian come down
the ramp. Jacqui grabs Lita from behind, and the Hardys run down to take out
the Tag Champs. In the ring, Lita ducks a Jacqui clothesline, but Edge
spears her! The Hardys force everyone out, but the damage is done. Michael
Cole asks Kane if he can concentrate on the Rock, after what Undertaker did
last night. Kane says that Undertaker tried to show the world what it
doesn't want to see, what it is scared of. He says he is going to give the
world something to be scared of. He says the only thing better than beating
his normal brother to a bloody pulp, will be to beat the People's Champion,
because then the Monster will represent the People. In the hall, Chyna tells
Eddie not to fight, but Eddie says it is something he has to do man to man,
and that if she wants to help, she can stay in the back. Commercial.Triple H vs. Eddie Guerrero: Triple H enters first, without Steph, who is
still missing. Eddie comes out, without Chyna, who is in the back. They go
right at it. Spinning head scissors by Eddie. Eddie pounds Triple H in the
corner, and Chyna is watching from the back. Uppercut by Eddie. High knee
by Triple H. Choke by Triple H. Back elbow by Triple H. Vertical suplex by
Triple H, followed by a knee drop 1-2-kickout. Hurricanrana by Eddie, who
retakes control. Tornado DDT by Eddie, who calls for the frog splash.
Triple H moves, but Eddie rolls out of the move. Triple H sets Eddie up for
a Pedigree, when Kurt Angle runs down with a chair and nails both Triple H
and Eddie. Chyna runs down with a chair and forces Angle out. In the ring,
Chyna attends to both men, while Kurt smiles down from the ramp. Commercial.Al Snow & The Kat vs. Perry Saturn & Terri: Replay of Angle's interference,
and JR says Angle left during the break. Al and Kat come down together.
Perry and Terri come down, with Kat rubbing in her win on SummerSlam. Kat
and Terri start, with Terri choking Kat, but then Kat choking Terri. Terri
hits a fisherman's suplex (yes, Terri did it). Kat battles back when Terri
celebrated. Both women tag to their respective men. Back overhead suplex by
Snow. Big boot by Perry, who then hits an overhead underhook suplex. Perry
takes out Al's legs, and then locks in an armbar, but Al gets to the ropes.
Suplex by Al 1-2-shoulder up. Superkick by Perry, who goes up top. Al kicks
Perry's legs out from under him, and then hits a superplex. Then, Mideon
runs in from the crowd into the ring, wearing a thong himself. He does some
dance moves and then runs off. Moonsault by Snow 1-2-broken by Terri. Perry
pushes Al into Kat, who flips into the ring. Perry puts the Rings of Saturn
on Kat, who taps immediately. Kevin Kelly is in the back, waiting to talk
with Rock. Commercial.Rock Interview: The Dudleys are in WWF New York. BuhBuh says that if they
were in Greensboro, Edge and Christian would have been through a table by
now. As for midgets, D-Von says that if anyone knows about short, stubby
things, it would be Christian and Edge. Back in Greensboro, Kevin Kelly asks
Rock is he is mentally and physically ready to fight Kane, after the Triple
Threat match last night. Rock says he will answer with a question, "Are you
mentally and physically ready to tickle the anus of a monkey?" Rock says he
went to hell and back last night, but he's still WWF Champ. As for tonight,
Rock has to fight a monster. He says Kane can run his mouth, saying he will
win Rock's belt and represent the people. He says there is only one man who
represents the people, and he is the same man who will whip Kane's ass all
over Greensboro tonight. Commercial.Rock vs. Kane (WWF Title): Kane's pyro flares, and the new look Kane comes
down the ramp. Still photos are shown of Undertaker taking Kane's mask. The
People's Champ comes out, belt in tow. The two men stare each other down,
and the match gets underway. Big boot by Kane. Russian leg sweep by Rock
1-2-kickout. The two exchange blows in the corner. Running powerslam by
Kane. Suplex by Kane 1-2-shoulder up. Rock fights back, but takes a
sidewalk slam. Kane goes up top and hits a flying clothesline on Rock
1-2-shoulder up. Samoan Drop by Rock and both men go down. Jumping
clothesline by Rock, followed by a DDT 1-2-shoulder up. Kane whips Rock into
Earl Hebner. Spinebuster by Rock. Rock goes for the People's Elbow and hits
it, but there's nobody to count. Rock goes to wake Hebner, which allows Kane
to get up. Chokeslam by Kane, but Hebner is still down 1-2-shoulder up.
Rock Bottom 1-2-shoulder up. Rock clotheslines Kane over the ropes. On the
outside Kane knocks Rock into the table and the stairs. The battle spills int
o the crowd, when Kid Rock blasts from the speakers and The Undertaker rides
to ringside. Kane leaves Rock to get at his brother. They meet in the ring
and go at it. Taker ducks a clothesline and chokeslams Kane. Taker goes and
sits on his bike, playing with Kane's old mask. Rock crawls into the ring
1-2-shoulder up! It's not over yet, folks. Rock Bottom 1-2-3! OK, so it is
over. Taker, satisfied, leaves ringside as Rock celebrates. Taker stops on
the stage, and stares back at Rock, who stares right back. Taker spits on
the stage and holds is fist up in triumph, and defiance of The Rock. End
Show.
