WWE RAW report for 9/15/03
Report by: Jason, rajah.com reporter

Hello again everyone and good evening to you all. I, Jason, along with the loyal staffers here in the Office of Journalistic Excellence proudly present YOUR rajah.com RAW report.

Just a quick reminder before we begin, you The Readers can chat with me about this report or anything concerning WWE at large on Yahoo Messenger under the name "Jason_of_RajahWWF." Come on by let me know what's on your mind. Anyway, let's not waste another moment, here we go...

Backstage, Triple H runs into RAW Co-GM Eric Bischoff. They give each other the glad hand before Bischoff says he hopes Triple H understands what he was up to last Monday in the mystery partners tag team match. Hunter understands and says he wants to throw Goldberg a Going Away Party tonight, since it'll be Bill's last night on RAW.

The music play, the pyro...pyros and we are LIVE from the University of South Carolina. Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler will have the call as tonight we will see the contract signing for the Unforgiven Last Man Standing Match between Kane and Shane McMahon. But first, there seems to be a protest going on in the ring...

Chris Jericho w/Christian Interview
-Fully decked out with picket signs and all, Y2J and your Intercontinental Champion have put aside their differences in order to unite and demand Stone Cold Steve Austin be fired as Co-General Manager of RAW. Christian didn't have a match at Summer Slam, he doesn't have one for Unforgiven and he's had enough. Jericho tries to get s "Stone Cold Must Go" chant started and here comes STEVE AUSTIN. The Rattlesnake hits the posts and takes a stick, asking if Jericho and Christian are actually going to hold up the show over what he did to Jericho last week. Austin says Y2J assaulted him last week, so he assaulted Chris right back. Jericho and Christian deserve an ass whipping from Stone Cold Steve Austin, but the rules prohibit it. Austin thinks that sucks and gets a "Hell Yeah" to that effect. Austin has had enough of Christian's whining and says he will in fact defend the Intercontinental Championship at Unforgiven. Austin invites both protesters to provoke him and Jericho orders Christian to do it. Christian would rather Y2J be the one to do it. Austin offers them his chin and Jericho gets in his face, demanding a title shot at Unforgiven. Very well, says Austin and he books Jericho in a match for the number one contendership to the Intercontinental Championship. Who is Jericho's opponent, you ask? Why it's R...V...D.

Chris Jericho vs. Rob Van Dam to determine the Number One Contender for the Intercontinental Championship
-Christian tries to cheap shot Van Dam as he gets into the ring, but RVD runs him off. Van Dam is on fire all over Jericho and backdrops him out over the top as we go to...

Commercial

...We return to action with Van Dam scoring a back flip splash for a near fall from referee Jack Doan. RVD gets another near fall before going to the top, but Jericho distracts the referee and Christian shoves Van Dam off the top and to the floor. Jericho goes out and flips Van Dam into the stairs before rolling him back into the ring. Jericho works the reverse chinlock on the mat, but RVD fights up and catches Y2J coming off the second rope with a dropkick. Spinning heel kick by Van Dam followed by a step over heel kick. Rolling Thunder! Van Dam with a leg drop over the top before drilling Y2J with a missile dropkick. 1-2-Jericho gets the shoulder up. Jericho goes for the Walls, but RVD turns it into a roll-up for two. Jericho with a sleeper drop. 1-2-RVD kicks out. RVD comes off the second rope with a reverse kick, but Jericho ducks and Van Dam blasts referee Doan instead. Jericho goes for the Lionsault, but RVD gets the knees up. Van Dam goes for the Five Star, but Jericho gets his knees up. Christian hops into the ring and tries to waffle Van Dam with the IC belt, but Van Dam ducks and Jericho catches it instead. Christian recovers and nails RVD anyway as the referee comes to and calls for the bell at 8:22.
-The referee has ruled this bout a Double Disqualification

Stone Cold returns to the stage and says if Christian thinks he can nail both guys to get the match thrown out so he won't have to face anyone at Unforgiven, he's sadly mistaken. Therefore at Unforgiven, it'll be Chris Jericho versus Rob Van Dam versus Christian in a Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship.

A Goldberg "Believe The Hype" clip shows Goldberg defeating Hollywood Hulk Hogan on July 6, 1998 to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

Spike Dudley w/The Dudley Boyz vs. Rob Conway w/La Resistance
-A clip shows up the sick bump Spike took last week at the hands of the bumbling La Resistance. Everyone brawls on the outside before Conway can get into the ring to start the match. The Dudleys battle La Resistance into the crowd as the match officially gets underway. The opportunistic Conway drops the injured Spike with a neckbreaker and gets the easy 1-2-3 at :26.
-HERE is YOUR Winner: Rob Conway

Conway goes to the outside after the bell and sets up a table in the ring. Referee Chad Patton tries to warn him off, but Conway ignores him and viciously powerbombs Spike through the table. The Dudley Boyz return to run Conway off as referees and EMTs run out to attend to Spike.

In the back, Eric Bischoff, Jonathan Coachman and Al Snow gloat over what just happened to Spike. Bischoff OKs something Coach and Snow have planned for later tonight before a staffer hands the Co-GM a note. Bischoff reads it and says he has two half-naked women waiting for him in his office before departing.

Commercial

In the back, Eric Bischoff arrives in his office to find The Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young waiting for him. Moolah demands a match here in her hometown of Columbia, South Carolina to celebrate her recent 80th birthday. Bischoff is or course appalled, but Stone Cold Steve Austin says it was he that invited Moolah and Mae tonight and Moolah will get her match. Mae then gives Bischoff the obligatory big, wet kiss and we're out.

Victoria vs. The Fabulous Moolah w/Mae Young
-Referee Earl Hebner calls for the bell and, God help us, here we go. Victoria attacks as Moolah and the ref are trying to get Mae out of the ring and throws The Fabulous One down. Victoria kicks Mae off the apron and looks to go back to work on Moolah, but the uber-veteran rolls her up and gets the 1-2-3 at :31 to win it.
-HERE is YOUR Winner: The Fabulous Moolah

Obviously humiliated, Victoria starts to beat on Moolah and Mae after the bell before Randy Orton of all people comes out to make the save. Orton takes mic and says Moolah doesn't deserve to be treated like this, she's a legend. By the way, he's Randy Orton...The Legend Killer. RKO! Good God, King!

Commercial

Ross and Lawler recap what Randy Orton just did to The Fabulous Moolah.

Another "Believe The Hype" clip from August 8, 1998 shows Goldberg delivering the Jackhammer to The Giant.

Lance Storm & Goldust vs. Rodney Mack & Mark Henry w/Theodore Long
-Lance has a new, ostensibly non-boring rap theme song. Now Mack & Henry's theme, THAT's a song. No hollering from Teddy, that sucks. Storm and Mack start with some basics and the crowd immediately begins to chant "Boring." Great angle, WWE. Anyway, Mack gets a near fall from referee Charles Robinson and then scores with a slam. Storm gets things going his way, but Henry smashes him from behind from the apron. Henry tags in and batters Storm in the corner, but Lance escapes and tags Goldust. Goldust tries to fire up with punches, but Henry seizes him up like he's a sack of feed and delivers a huge powerslam for the 1-2-3 at 1:58.
-HERE are YOUR Winners: Mark Henry & Rodney Mack

In the back, Evolution backslap each other for a while before Orton excuses him self from Naitch and The Game. Flair and Triple H leave and Orton finds himself face-to-face with first Maven, and then Shawn Michaels. Orton vows to use HBK as his stepping-stone at Unforgiven, which earns him a monster slap across the face.

Commercial

Earlier today, The Hurricane was unsuccessful in his attempt to teach S.H.I.T. Rosey to fly.

Outside the arena, Terri meets the arriving Molly Holly and Gail Kim. She asks about their vow to end Trish Stratus's career and Molly says tonight, as per Eric Bischoff's orders, it will be herself and Gail Kim versus Trish Stratus and her partner...no one. That's right, a Handicap Match.

Last Man Standing Match Contract Signing
-Eric Bischoff is first to the ring to preside over the contract signing. Due to the intense mature of a Last Man Standing Match, Bischoff says the principles in tonight's signing will not be signing contracts, but release forms so that they can't hold his administration responsible for anything that happens to them. Bischoff introduces Kane and Big Red comes on down and signs before lighting the posts. Bischoff intros Shane McMahon and here he comes. Shane takes the mic and says that Kane may annihilate him this Sunday, but if he goes down, he's taking Kane with him. Shane assures Kane he will be the last man standing and signs the release. Kane tosses the table and chairs aside and approaches Shane, but McMahon charges right at him with fists flying. Bischoff bails as Shane nails Kane with three low blows. Kane rolls out of the ring where Shane smashes him over the back with a steel chair several times. Shane crowns Kane with the chair before pulling a tarp off what would be the Spanish announce table at a PPV. Shane sets Kane up on the table and then goes to the top rope for the big elbow. Referees come out to see to Kane as Shane staggers up and to the back. By the time Shane reaches the stage, Kane has gotten up and states at him from the ring.

Commercial

Believe The Hype: At Backlash last April, Goldberg defeats The Rock in his first WWE match.

Trish Stratus vs. Molly Holly & Gail Kim in a Handicap Match
-Molly's in a nice red one-strap number, yum. Trish attacks at the bell with a double dropkick. The heels try to dump Trish over the top again, but Trish lands on the apron and battles on. Trish sends Gail out and scores a near fall on Molly after a flying headscissors. Trish scores the Stratusphere on Molly, but Holly escapes and tags Kim in. Gail batters Trish with a bodyslam and scores a leg drop off the second rope for a near fall from referee Chad Patton. Molly tags in and chokes Trish in the corner. Molly draws the ref away as Kim chokes Trish. Molly scores her back handspring elbow and covers. 1-2-kickout by Trish. Molly with the neck vise, but Trish fights out and scores a nice spinebuster. 1-2-Molly kicks out. Molly drives Trish's head into the buckle and tags Gail. They double-team Stratus and Kim gets a near fall. Trish eats boot on a corner charge and Kim tags Molly. Molly-Go-Round! Holly stays seated for the 1-2-3 at 4:07 and that's that.
-HERE are YOUR Winners: Molly Holly & Gail Kim

Molly and Gail KO Trish with a double DDT after the bell before Molly goes out and retrieves to steel chairs. They set one up and lay Trish's carcass over it, then place the other over Stratus's face. Molly goes to the top, presumably to break Trish's neck, but you know, sometimes it just feels right...it's LITA! Molly tries to warn Kim as Lita hits the ring, but it's no good, Lita is a house of fire in there. Wicked DDT to Molly! Massive powerbomb to Gail Kim! Twist of Fate to Molly! Both heels are totally KO'd as Lita takes her shirt off, hits the posts and helps Trish to the back. Crowd loved that whole segment.

Commercial

WWE Rewind: Last week on RAW, Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler got the best of Jonathan Coachman and Al Snow in a silly segment.

In the back, a sore Molly Holly and Gail Kim demand an explanation from Eric Bischoff for what just happened. Bischoff has no idea as he fired Lita months ago. "Eh EHHH," says the arriving Stone Cold Steve Austin; he's hired Lita back. What's more, at Unforgiven it'll be Molly Holly and Gail Kim versus Trish Stratus and Lita.

In the arena, Jonathan Coachman and Al Snow come out clad as JR and The King and take position at the destroyed ringside announce table. Coachman orders Ross and Lawler's mics cut off as he and Snow take control of the broadcast.

Val Venis vs. Test w/Stacy Keibler
-Test won't allow Stacy in the ring or even on the apron. Test attacks Venis from behind at the bell before going out and ordering Stacy into a ringside chair. Test goes back in and hammers away on Venis. Val fires up and floors Test with a clothesline. Stacy openly cheers for Val as Test pokes Venis in the eye over referee Charles Robinson's head. Test goes for the pumphandle slam, but Van turns it into a powerbomb for a near fall. Val goes to the top for the Money Shot, but Test kicks the ref into the ropes and Venis is crotched. Test seizes Val up and scores the pumphandle slam. 1-2-Test is pulled out by Stacy. Test chases Stacy around the ring as SCOTT STEINER appears on the stage. Test starts to go out over the top after Steiner, but Stacy uses the top rope and crotch him there as Val distracts the referee. Test staggers back into the ring where Venis nails him with a half nelson suplex and gets the 1-2-3 at 2:59.
-HERE is YOUR Winner: Val Venis

Test menaces Stacy in the ring after the bell before Steiner arrives to show him the door. Test manages to pull Stacy to the outside though and he makes her leave with him.

Jerry Lawler gets into the ring and challenges Snow to a match for tonight. Right here, right now. Snow accepts.

Commercial

Believe The Hype: Last month at Summer Slam, Goldberg went through Randy Orton, Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels in the Elimination Chamber Match.

Back in command of the broadcast, Jim Ross reminds us about Triple H's Going Away Party for Goldberg and tells us Goldberg has arrived in the building.

Al Snow vs. Jerry "The King" Lawler
-The Coach has moved to the upper announce position to antagonize JR as Lawler DDTs Snow for a near fall from referee Earl Hebner. Snow goes to the eyes in the corner over the ref's back and scores a bodyslam. Back suplex by Snow. Al goes for a vertical suplex, but Lawler turns it into a roll-up for the 1-2-3 at 2:28.
-HERE is YOUR Winner: Jerry "The King" Lawler

JR stands to applaud his partner after the bell and Coachman blasts him with a forearm to the back of the head. Snow and The Coach head out as Lawler rushes to Ross's side.

Commercial

Ross and Lawler talk some trash on Coachman and Snow before a clip from earlier tonight shows Shane McMahon laying waste to Kane during the Contract Signing.

In the back, Evolution heads toward the arena, but Stone Cold Steve Austin holds them up. He says that if Triple H wants to throw Goldberg a Going Away Party, he can do it himself. He bars Ric Flair and Randy Orton from the ring.

Commercial

Goldberg's Going Away Party
-There is an easel set up in the ring. Triple H makes his way down solo for the festivities. Hunter eggs the crowd on to hit him with a "Goldberg" chant and they oblige him. Triple H says this is the last chance you'll have to chant Goldberg's name because his career is over as of this Sunday. Hunter then calls for some party music and tons of balloons and confetti fall from the rafters. Triple H had been watching all the Goldberg highlights throughout the night and he's noticed that he's beaten everyone that Goldberg has beaten. The only difference is, he's also beaten Goldberg. Hunter says he is the only constant in the sports world today and vows to beat Goldberg at Unforgiven, driving him from the business forever. Hunter's mic then goes dead and, rather than get another one, he continues to try to get it to work. He finally gets a wired mic and blames it all on Goldberg. Moving right along, Hunter turns his attention to the easel in the ring, saying it's Goldberg's retirement gift. He unveils it to be a large picture from last week of Evolution lording it over the battered and bloody Goldberg inside the steel cage. Triple H does some more ridicule from there and I'd say Goldberg is due out to kick his ass anytime now. Nope, not yet, first Triple H presents a clip from last week of the sick chair shot he gave Goldberg. Hunter calls for the clip to be re-run, this time in slow motion, but instead Goldberg appears on the TitanTron. He tells Hunter to look at the men who's going to beat his ass this Sunday. Goldberg says he's the next World Heavyweight Champion and heads for the arena. Goldberg charges down the ramp and slides into the ring. Triple H tries to use the belt, but Goldberg presses him and drives him to the mat with a powerslam. Triple H tumbles out of the ring and onto the ramp as Goldberg climbs the corner and hollers over him.

END OF SHOW
