RAW Opening: LIVE from Rochester, New York, the World Wrestling Federation
presents RAW is WAR! Tonight's edition of everyone's favorite program starts
off with a look at Undertaker, Rock, and Kane becoming #1 Contenders on last
Thursday's SmackDown!. In the back, Michael Cole asks Vince how Triple H
feels having three contenders. Vince says he doesn't care about how Triple
H's feelings, and says that if Triple H kept his ego in check, he wouldn't be
in this mess. Furthermore, he says that if everyone listened to him, life
would be much easier. In the arena, Triple H's music hits, and the "golden"
couple, Triple H and Steph enter. Triple H says that the belt has never
meant so much, to so many. He says that he can't blame everyone for wanting
to be the best that there is. Three of the WWF's best ever, and they are all
tied together by their dream of getting in the ring and being able to claim
they beat The Game to become Champ. He says that the hotter the competition
gets, the better he gets. He says he loves competition, but he hates big
egos. He says he has heard he has an ego, but then again, he should have the
biggest ego on the planet, since he is that damn good. However, he doesn't
have the biggest ego. That claim goes to Vince. He says Vince's ego has
become a problem. "No Chances" hits and Vince struts out, shaking his head.
Vince makes his way right into the ring and gets on the mic. He says that he
believes in the law of the jungle, that the bigger will eat the smaller, and
weaker. If Triple H thinks it's his time, he better think again. Vince says
Triple H is pretty damn good, but the best things he has ever done is join
the Federation, and then marry Stephanie. He tells Triple H that his time
may come, or not, and he better remember that Vince made him, and can break
him. Triple H tells Vince to remember that he may have made the monster, but
the monster can take over at anytime. Also, he reminds Vince of December,
when Triple H kicked Vince's ass all over. Vince reaches for the mic, but
Triple H shoves him away. Vince takes off his jacket and Triple H says it's
on. They shove some more and are about to go at each other, until Shane runs
in and holds them back. He says that the two of them need to get their ego
in check. He says if they did, there would only be one contender. He says
Triple H's ego is too big, and Vince's is as well. Shane actually questions
Vince's ability to run the company, and says he should run the company.
Vince and Triple H push Shane away, and Shane goes after both of them, only
to get double clotheslined. Steph slaps Triple H, then Vince, and then
Shane. As the three are about to brawl, The People's Champ, The Rock makes
his entrance. The fight stops and all the McMahons await the Rock. Rock
says he doesn't see a family feud, an owner of a company, or even a Champion,
but rather three of the biggest pieces of steaming monkey crap being slapped
around by a two dollar slut. Rock says he knows there are two other
contenders, but he is a contender, and is entitled to a title shot...tonight!
Rock says he has two options: he can go back and wait until everyone is
ready for the match or option two (at this point, Rock walks down the ramp)
he could kick Triple H's ass now. As he reaches the bottom of the ramp,
Kane's pyro spews from the Titan Stage and the Big Red Machine enters. Kane
says Rock has it wrong. He says he is THE contender, and he wants his title
shot tonight. As soon as Kane walks, "American Badass" hits and the
Undertaker enters. He says he has never seen so many assholes in the same
place. He says that with the allies Triple H has, he doesn't need enemies.
Taker says he wants his title shot tonight, and he doesn't care if they have
to fight all at once. Vince asks what they would say if they all got their
shot tonight. Triple H explodes, but Vince says he knows what he's doing.
Vince says that "in this very ring", we will see a Triple Threat match for
the sole holding of the #1 Contendership. Then, the winner of that match,
will face Triple H for the title on RAW tonight! Triple H is still fuming,
but Vince calms him down. Commercial.
