- The following is just a quick recap of what happened on the 12/31 RAW. Since all the matches were from earlier in the year, we've elected not to go into great detail.

In the arena:
Jerry and Michael were in an empty arena, and Jerry complained about being stuck at an empty arena with Michael Cole.

Match #10: Chris Jericho def. Chris Benoit @ Royal Rumble on 1/21/01

In the arena:
Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler talked about the Undertaker's Decade of Destruction after the "My Desire" video played for the Phenom. Michael and Jerry talked about the Undertaker wanting respect, and Michael said that he thinks the fans will respect the Undertaker after this match up.

Match #9: Undertaker def. Triple H @ Wrestlemania X-8 on 4/1/01

Top Five Shocking Moments:
Ric Flair wished everybody a Happy New Year, and it's time for the top five shocking moments of the year 2001!

5). The formation of the Alliance. - 7/9/01 - RAW is WAR
4). Booker T attacks Austin, Jericho wins the Title. - 11/18/01 - Survivor Series
3). Drew Carey competes in the Rumble. - 1/21/01 - Royal Rumble
2). The Undertaker forces Ross to kiss Vince's ass. - 11/26/01 - RAW
1). Ric Flair returns to the WWF. - 11/19/01 - RAW

Match #8: Kurt Angle def. Shane McMahon @ King of the Ring on 6/24/01

WWF Flashback:
September 13, 2001. The WWF Superstars were lined up on the stage for the National Anthem, sang by the WWF's own Lilian Garcia. This was just two days after the terrorist attacks on America.

In the arena:
Michael said it was an emotional moment for the WWF, and that took place just a couple of days removed from the terrible tragedy. Jerry said that President Bush stated that everyone should go on with business as usual, and that's what the WWF did. Speaking of entertaining fans, this next match is an entertaining one.

Match #7: Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit def. Triple H & Steve Austin @ RAW on 5/21/01

In the arena:
Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler talked about Triple H's injury, and it was amazing that Triple H finished the match. Jerry said that he can't wait to be at ringside a week from tonight, because Triple H makes his long awaited return to the ring at Madison Square Garden. Michael said it could be a Beautiful Day for Triple H, or an ugly day for the rest of the WWF.

Top Five Kisses of 2001:
Rikishi took some time to wish everybody a Happy New Year, but first, he wants everyone to check out the top five kisses of the year 2001!

5). Regal kisses Vince McMahon's ass. - 11/19/01 - RAW
4). Matt Hardy kisses Lita. - 2/19/01 - RAW is WAR
3). Vince McMahon kisses Rikishi's ass. - 12/6/01 - Smackdown!
2). The Rock and Trish Stratus make out. - 12/3/01 - RAW
1). Kurt Angle kisses his Gold Medals after pulling them from Benoit's trunks. - 5/17/01 - Smackdown!

In the arena:
Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler laughed together, and Jerry asked Michael what he's laughing at? He thinks that's funny? Wait until he sees what he's going to have to kiss at midnight! Michael didn't know what he was talking about, and Michael said that you never know what you're going to see in the WWF. Sometimes you sit at ringside, and it's like a big movie! A video package was shown, featuring the many things that the World Wrestling Federation has done in the past year, including singing, romance, betrayal, revenge, toilet humor, and plenty of good old fashioned fun!

WWF Tough Enough:
Clips from WWF Tough Enough were shown, and Jim Ross announced Nidia and Maven as the Tough Enough Winners.

In the arena:
Michael congratulated Nidia and Maven, because they are living out their dream with WWF contracts. Jerry mentioned WWF Tough Enough 2, but it's time to move onto Puppies! Jerry was surprised that this match didn't do better, because he spent a lot of time watching the match and voting!

Match #6: Torrie Wilson def. Stacy Keibler @ No Mercy on 10/21/01

The Rock Returns:
Clips of The Rock making his return to the WWF were shown from July 30th, earlier this year.

Match #5: Team WWF def. Team Alliance @ Survivor Series on 11/18/01

Top Five Slaps of 2001:
Trish Stratus brought us to the top five slaps of 2001!

5). Debra slaps Vince McMahon - 4/16/01 - RAW is WAR
4). Molly Holly slaps Stone Cold - 6/18/01 - RAW is WAR
3). Debra slaps the Undertaker - 5/3/01 - Smackdown!
2). Trish Stratus slaps Vince McMahon - 4/1/01 - Wrestlemania
1). Stephanie slaps Linda McMahon - 10/25/01 - Smackdown!

In the arena:
Michael Cole talked about the slap with Stephanie hitting Linda, and all Jerry had to say was "WHAT?" That lead to a "What?" video package, what?

In the arena:
They showed clips of Jerry Lawler's return, and Michael said that he's so glad to have Jerry back. Jerry said it was such a thrill to walk down the aisle and see Paul Heyman dragged out. It's great to be back in the WWF with his family. One of the reasons that he's tickled to be back is because he gets to sit at ringside with Michael and Jim Ross and witness matches like this next one.

Match #4: Rob Van Dam def. Chris Jericho @ Invasion on 7/22/01

Best Put Downs of 2001:
The Rock was shown on the phone, and he wished the person on the phone a Happy New Year. The Rock realized that the camera was there, and he asked what they were doing there, and then he realized what it was for. The Rock's music hit, and he brought us to the top five put downs of 2001. The Rock told the tech guy to get on the show, and he was wearing a WCW shirt, and The Rock made fun of him. The Rock was the one who put WCW to rest. Take that shirt off. The guy took the shirt off, and then The Rock told him to put it back on, because he didn't like what he saw. Best put downs. 2001!

4). Edge bashes X-Pac - 10/1/01 - RAW is WAR
3). The Big Show destroys Diamond Dallas Page - 11/15/01 - Smackdown!

In the arena:
Jerry and Michael talked about The Rock talking trash, and then Jerry hit Michael with a put down.

Match #3: Steve Austin def. The Rock @ Wrestlemania X-8 on 4/1/01

Debra wished everyone out there a Happy and safe New Year's. Now it's time for the top five food moments of 2001!

3). Kurt Angle covers the Alliance in milk! - 8/20/01 - RAW is WAR
2). Booker T and Stone Cold brawl in a grocery store. - 12/13/01 - Smackdown!
1). The Rock asked Lilian Garcia if she'd like to try the strudel. - 9/4/01 - Smackdown!.

In the arena:
Michael and Jerry laughed, and Jerry said that he heard that Michael likes the strudel. Michael claimed that he likes the pie. Jerry poked fun at Michael, and Michael asked if they could move on! The next match is an incredible display of athleticism, and it's tables, ladders and chairs 2!

Happy New Year:
Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler talked about the #1 match of the year, and they poked fun at each other as they spent the new year together. Jerry got pumped up for Triple H's return, and hopefully the year 2002 will provide better memories for the WWF and the fans!
