* Smackdown began with a re-cap of what happened on last weeks show between Triple H, Vince McMahon, and Jericho (the assault on HHH, Jericho interrupting HHH’s match w/ D-von and HHH attacking everyone with a sledgehammer.

* Triple H came out to the ring with a huge ovation from the crowd in Montreal. HHH says Vince doesn’t get it, that it doesn’t matter what Vince does, HHH is not going to just go away. He says he will get up every time Vince knocks him down, and he will get closer to Vince and when he’s close enough he’s going to chew Vince up and spit him out. He says Sunday he will take Jericho to hell, and since he’s never been there before HHH would like to give him a first hand feeling of what the match will be like. He calls this purgatory where Jericho can start to burn. Edge comes out. No one is sure why. Edge says that HHH gave a good speech but didn’t mention he hit everyone with a sledge, edge said he didn’t enjoy it. He says they are both good guys, and good guys don’t have problem with each other but he didn’t care. He says HHH may take out Jericho and he will shave angle but he feels very competitive, like he might want to play the game. HHH explains he is a lot of things, but he is not a good guy. HHH says that if Edge wants to play the game...but is cut off when Edge hits him and the two go at it in the ring. Angle comes out and so does Jericho. HHH saves Edge from Angle but gets a low blow from Jericho. Angle spears Edge. Jericho and Angle take out HHH by throwing him into the steps. Both men turn to Edge, Angles cuts off some of Edges hair. HHH gets a chair and Jericho and Angle leave.

* Backstage Vince and Stacey talk about the swimsuit comp. Vince asks for a sneak peek. Vince asks Stacey if he can nuzzle her breasts. Angle and Jericho barge in and rejoice in beating down Edge and HHH. Vince makes a tag team match between HHH and Edge vs. Angle and Jericho.

* Big Valbowski and Randy Orton vs. Lance Storm and Hardcore Holly
Holly chops Orton, and Orton chops Holly. Holly dropkicks Orton and takes control. Orton dropkicks Holly. Orton makes a tag to Valbowski. Storm and Valbowski go at it. Holly comes into the ring and Valbowski slams Holly. Orton jumps from the top rope on to a staggering Storm. Holly breaks up the count Orton tries to get on Storm. Storm kicks Orton’s chin and pins him but Orton reverses it and wins. Holly and Storm can’t believe it.

* A flashback to the interview between Coach and Hogan comes on. Undertaker hits him with a tire iron. Undertaker ties him to this bike a drags him around backstage. He laughs as he drives Hogan into some boxes and such.

* Backstage, Maven wishes Torrie good luck in her competition. He said he saw what happened with Tajiri. Then he asks her out to a couple of drinks, she accepts. D-von comes around the corner and preaches about what’s going on in Maven’s head, lustful impure thoughts. Al Snow breaks up the preaching of D-Von but not before D-Von promises Maven salvation by him.

* Hurricane is undercover as reporter Gregory Helms and is in the locker room. He questions Funaki about the "evil" shirt that he is wearing. Helms wonders if he is responsible for the note he received last week. He then finds a note, which says "Hurricane - congrats on the title shot but take heat if you win because then your pain will surely begin." Helms runs out.

* During the interview with Jericho, Jericho says his message of the night was to HHH. Jericho says that he will pull back the curtain and unveil the competitor that he is at Judgment Day. Jericho brings up that he put HHH in the Walls of Jericho after HHH tore his quad. On Sunday he said that HHH would face the real Jericho when he’s locked in the cage.

* D-Von vs. Maven
Deacon Batista accompanies D-Von. D-Von preaches more. He says that he seeks the crowd out as a sheep among the wolves, he says that they will add to the collection plate. He is interrupted by Maven. D-Von hammers away at Maven. D-von throws Maven around. Maven gets back in it by pinning D-Von 3 times but D-Von kicks out. Maven knocks down D-Von. D-Von hits a "blatant" low blow (if it was so "blatant" why didn’t the ref see it?) to Maven and hits the Saving Grace and gets the pin. Al Snow runs out but is attacked by Deacon Batista and his moneybox.

* Stacey is in a back room admiring herself in the mirror. A midget jumps out of a cabinet with a Panasonic camera and makes a horrific little people noise and says he will wait for her after her match.

* Tazz mediates the swimsuit competition. Stacey comes out first. Then out comes Torrie Wilson. Tazz explains that the crowd picks the winner by applause. Torrie attempts to remove her robe but Tajiri comes out to cover up Torrie. Torrie is angry. Stacey says the competition has left and declared herself the winner. Tazz says Stacey still needs to take off the robe to win. She declines and the new WWE Women’s Champ, Trish Stratus comes down to the ring. Stacey asks what she’s doing here. Trish says she thinks the people came to see a competition. She asks if Stacey if afraid of competition. Trish says she forgot her bikini but reveals her undergarments. Stacey tries to attack Trish with a shoe but she is thrown out of the ring.

* Vince congratulates D-Von and Batista says the Deacon in impressive. Stacey comes in and complains about what just transpired. Vince promises to make it up to her. Stacey wants a championship match. Vince gives the ok but the match would be at Judgment day with service protection by D-Von. D-Von misunderstands protection for condoms. Vince explains to D-Von that he knows Bubba Ray will be there. D-Von says he will help.

* Rikishi vs. Rico
Billy and Chuck accompany Rico. Rico isn’t eager to get into the ring. Rico hits him from behind. Rikishi throws Rico around and slams Rico face first from a neck-breaker. Billy hits Rikishi when they head out of the ring. Rico kicks Rikishi several times but Rikishi delivers a belly to belly slam to Rico. Billy and chuck get in to the ring. Rico kicks Rikishi with a spinning heel kick. Rikishi knocks Rico down and sits on his chest for the pin.

* Vince tells Stacey he has no doubt she would have won the swimsuit competition if it wasn’t for Trish. Billy, Chuck and Rico barge in. Vince yells that Rikishi won the match. He says that the Tag Team Champs shouldn’t lose to one guy. He says that they will defend their titles at Judgment Day against Rikishi and someone else of Vince’s choice.

* Backstage an interview with HHH takes place. HHH says Jericho needs to understand that Sunday at the Hell in the Cell there won’t be Angle or six others that can help him. He says it will be HHH alone with Jericho. He said if Jericho is wondering what he will do at Hell in the Cell, he should consult Mick Foley, because Mick Foley’s career was ended by HHH in a Hell in a Cell match.

* Edge and HHH meet in a locker room. Edge says he still has a problem. HHH says he admires Edges guts but says Edge needs to win some world titles before he plays the Game. Edge says he could do it the HHH way, by sleeping with the boss’ daughter. HHH says Edge can do it any way he likes, just as long as it is after their match.

* Hurricane vs. Kidman vs. Tajiri
Tajiri hits Kidman before Hurricane even gets out. Kidman and Hurricane begin to double team Tajiri. Hurricane goes for a choke-slam but is kicked by Tajiri. Kidman goes to pin Tajiri but he kicks out. Kidman set up Tajiri for the Shooting Star. He hits its and goes to pin Tajiri, but Hurricane pulls him out. Hurricane goes for the pin but Tajiri grabs on the ropes. Hurricane choke-slams Tajiri and pins him for the WWE Cruiserweight Title.

* Hogan comes out to the ring next. He is received by an incredible ovation from the crowd. Hogan ambles down the stage and barely makes it up the stairs. The ovation continues well after Hogan’s music finishes. He paces around the ring in disbelief of the crowds reaction to him. Hogan is nearly brought to tears as the ovation continues, and continues, and continues....and after that it continued some more. Hogan couldn’t believe it, and still they cheered and chanted "Hogan, Hogan." Finally he stopped them. He told the crowd they were overwhelming. He said he had one goal, to get to Wrestlemania. After that he came out to that arena to say thanks but then couldn't leave. He says he is out again on the eve of Judgment Day to just say thanks again. The crowd started cheering again. But luckily for the TV viewers Hogan stopped it to continue to talk. He says he hoped his dreams would never end, then says he knows Hulkamania will live forever. With all that said, Hogan asks what is Undertaker gonna do when... then he is interrupted by Vince. Vince says reality doesn't suck, in his opinion Hulkamania sucks. He says he admits he enjoyed Raw when Undertaker dragged him behind his own motorcycle. Vince says that at one time Hogan was immortal but now Vince sees it as empty shell of what Hogan used to be. He says that Hulkamania has a terminal illness, it has cancer. Vince says that is why Sunday, the Undertaker will burry Hogan’s Hulkamania remnants in a box. Vince says that he created Hulkamania, and what he created he can destroy. He says that he knows what Hogan’s colors stand for. The red stands for the blood of his that will spill, and the yellow for the big yellow streak down Hogan’s back. Then he slaps Hogan. Hogan punches Vince, rips off his shirt, and delivers a leg drop to Vince.

* Angle and Jericho vs. Triple H and Edge
This was the last match of the night. Kurt Angle comes out with the chunk of Edge’s hair, which he cuts off earlier in the show. Edge doesn’t wait for triple h and goes after angle. HHH takes angle out of the ring and Edge takes it to Jericho inside the ring. Edge takes Jericho down a few times and the HHH is tagged in. HHH hammers away at Jericho. Angle gets tagged in and so does Edge. Angle slams Edge from the top rope. Angle delivers a belly-to-belly to Edge. Angle and Edge switch off beating on Edge. Edge battles back from the top rope with Jericho. He hits a drop kick from the second rope on Jericho. Edge once again fails to make the tag by himself, but Angle accidentally runs Edge in to HHH. HHH hits a face-crusher on Jericho. HHH gets double knock down Angle and Jericho. Edge slingshots Jericho over the tope rope and counters the Angle-slam. Jericho has a chair but is speared by Edge. HHH hits a pedigree on Angle but Jericho breaks up the three count. HHH hunts down Jericho outside the ring. The ref tried to get them back in, but is knocked down. HHH and Jericho make it into the crowd and beyond. Edge throws Angle in the ring but Angle hits him with a chair. The ref gets in the ring. Angle slams Edge and pins Edge for the three count. Angle pulls out the piece of Edge’s hair and stands over him holding it.
