* Stephanie McMahon comes out and talks about Brock Lesnar and the Undisputed Title being exclusive to Smackdown. She says that the number one contender for the title is not Triple H as stated previously on Raw, but someone on Smackdown. She says that we will find out tonight, because there will be a single elimination style set of matches and the last one will be named the number one contender for the Undisputed Championship.

* Edge vs. Eddie Guerrero
Stephanie does the ring announcing. Edge arm drags Guerrero twice. Guerrero gets it together and goes after Edge’s shoulder. The crowd begins an Eddie sucks chant. Edge face plants Guerrero. Edge clotheslines Guerrero. Guerrero clubs Edge in the shoulder a few times. Guerrero slams Edge’s face in the turnbuckle but Edge whips Guerrero into the other corner. Guerrero suplexes Edge and covers for 2. Guerrero locks in an arm bar on Edge.. Edge breaks out of it but is taken down by a dropkick to the knee. Guerrero is suplexed over the top rope and out of the ring. Edge gets on the apron and jumps onto Guerrero. Edge rolls Guerrero back in the ring. Edge gets to the top rope but Guerrero super-plexes Edge. Guerrero covers Edge for 2. Guerrero beats Edge in the back of the head with his elbow. Edge power-bombs Guerrero. Both men are down and the ref begins to count. He gets to 7 before they get up. Edge whips Guerrero in the ropes and hits the back body drop, then a clothesline. Edge covers for two. Edge attempts a suplex, Guerrero counters, but Edge counters that counter with another suplex. Edge gets on the top rope and hits a missile drop kick on Guerrero. Guerrero is whipped into the corner. Guerrero gets out of the ring and grabs two chairs. Guerrero slides it in the ring, Edge grabs it the ref takes it away. while the ref is turned Guerrero grabs the other chair and uses it to block Edge’s spear.. Guerrero gets on the top rope and hits the frog splash. Guerrero covers for the win.

* Backstage Matt Hardy grabs Stephanie and says that he likes the number one contender series. he wants to know if he is next in the series. She says no, and says that Rikishi will face Guerrero. He asks if he will face the winner, she says maybe. He says he is ready.

* John Cena vs. D-Von
D-Von throws his jacket at Cena. Cena drop kicks D-Von. Cena tries to cover but D-Von rolls out of the way. D-Von kicks at Cena. D-Von slams Cena’s head in teh turnbuckle. D-Von suplexes Cena, bounces off the ropes then drops an elbow on Cena. Cena tries to battle back but he is power slammed by D-Von. D-Von covers for a 2 count. Cena clotheslines D-Von a whole bunch of times. Cena hits an inverted atomic drop on D-Von. D-Von jumps off the top rope and jumps toward Cena but Cena moves. Cena covers but D-Von kicks out. D-Von hits a reverse slam and picks up the win. Bautista comes out and power bombs D-Von.

* Rey Mysterio vs. Rico
Rico is accompanied by Billy and Chuck. Rico whips Mysterio in the corner, Billy grabs him, Mysterio is knocked out of the ring. Mysterio jumps out of the ring and hits Billy and Chuck. Billy and Chuck leave. Rico suplexes Mysterio. Mysterio kicks Rico in the stomach then hits a flying leg scissors take down. Rico grabs Mysterio and plants him on the mat. Rico hits a snap suplex on Mysterio. Then Rico hits a sit out power bomb type thing after a delayed hold. Mysterio tries to battle back but Rico kicks him in the chin. Mysterio is caught in mid air and Rico delivers a power slam. Rico attempts a moon-sault, Mysterio moves. Mysterio counters something and hits a bull dog on Rico. Mysterio covers Rico for a 2 count. Rico hits a back breaker on Mysterio. Rico attempts a spin kick but Mysteri o moves and hits Rico. Mysterio hit the 619 and then the west coast pop. He covers Rico for the win.

* Backstage Hardcore Holly is trying to convince Stephanie that he should be in the number one contender title series. Dawn Marie tells Stephanie she has a phone call waiting for her. Stephanie says that her and Holly will take this up later. She goes in her office. Holly asks what phone call is more important that he is.

* Backstage Stephanie is on the phone with the Raw brand defector. She says that Dawn can deliver the papers now since the hotel is connected to the arena. Matt Hardy comes in and tells Stephanie he needs to talk to her. She stays on the phone, he hangs it up. She calls him a son of a bitch and gives him a match with Lesnar. Hardy is excited and says that this is all he needs for his career.

* In an interview with Rikishi he is talking about his upcoming match. Guerrero comes up and tells Rikishi to get his head out of his ass. Guerrero says that tonight Rikishi isn't going to face Lesnar, he is going to face Eddie Guerrero. Guerrero then asks how Rikishi says back that ass up in Spanish.

* Rikishi vs. Eddie Guerrero
They lock up and Rikishi shoves Guerrero down. Guerrero applies a head lock, Rikishi throws Guerrero in the ropes. Guerrero falls int position for the stink face. Guerrero runs out of the way. Rikishi gets knocked down by Guerrero with a kick to the knee. The two get out of the ring. Rikishi is then slammed into the steps. They get back in to avoid a count out. Guerrero locks in some sort of leg submission. Rikishi kicks him off. Guerrero kicks Rikishi’s leg again and the covers for a 2. Guerrero keeps on kicking Rikishi’s leg. Rikishi battles back, Guerrero attempts a cover but Rikishi counters and tries to drop on top of him but Guerrero moves. Guerrero locks in that leg submission again. Rikishi chops at Guerrero and gets out of the submission hold. Guerrero runs towards Rikishi but Rikishi moves. Rikishi plants Guerrero. Rikishi kicks Guerrero in the head and covers for a 2 count.. After the match Chris Benoit comes out and suplexes Rikishi. Guerrero hits a frog splash on Rikishi and then Benoit puts him in the cross face. Edge comes running out to save Rikishi.

* Backstage Stephanie runs up to Benoit and tells him he must feel bad about losing the Intercontinental Title and he must want to take out that anger. She says he is in the title series and will fight Rikishi.

* Tajiri vs. Shannon Moore
Tajiri is accompanied by Jamie Noble and Nidia, Moore is accompanied by Hurricane. Moore takes Tajiri down several times with an arm drag. Moore covers for a 2 count. Moore is whipped into the ropes and Tajiri throws him into the ropes. Tajiri kicks Moore while he is down. Tajiri locks in a submission on Moore. Moore gets out of it but is knocked down by Tajiri. Tajiri puts Moore on the tope rope upside down and kicks him. Tajiri covers for a 2 count. Tajiri locks in another submission. He the proceeds to beat Moore in the back of the head. Tajiri locks in another submission that looks sort of like a half-nelson. Tajiri then chokes Moore on the second rope with a knee to the back of the head. Tajiri covers and Moore gets his foot on the rope. Tajiri jumps up and plants his knee on Moore’s face. Tajiri puts Moore in chin lock but Moore gets out of it. Tajiri attempts a back breaker but Moore counters with an elbow. Moore hits a neck breaker on Tajiri and covers for a 2. Tajiri German suplexes Moore into a bride cover but Moore kicks out. Tajiri tries another suplex. Noble grabs Moore’s leg and he falls down. Hurricane runs over to Noble. Moore counters an atomic drop from Tajiri and rolls him up for a 2 count.

* Chris Benoit vs. Rikishi
The match begins right away with the two men trading punches. Benoit kicks at Rikis hi while he is in the corner. Benoit goes to work on Rikishi’s arm and shoulder. Rikishi tries to battle back. Rikishi hits the Samoan drop. Rikishi writhes in pain and Benoit locks in the cross face. Rikishi struggles to the ropes and eventually makes it there. Benoit breaks the hold and drops an elbow on Rikishi. Benoit locks in the cross face again and this time Rikishi taps out. Benoit advances.

* Backstage in an interview with Kurt Angle, Angle is asked if he is concerned about not being mentioned in the number one contender match ups. Angle says that he wants to apologize to Snow White and the other 6 dwarfs for beating up their hero Rey Mysterio. Marc Lloyd says that Mysterio almost beat him many times that night. Angle tells him to shut up. Angle goes on to say that Stephanie has told him that he will face Benoit in the final match up for the number one contender series.

* Funaki tries to interview Lesnar, Heyman says that its not a good idea to bother Lesnar during his before match preparations. Matt Hardy shows up behind them. He says that tonight marks a new era. No longer will it be referred to at WWE Attitude but WWE Matt-itude. Heyman tells Funaki that he learns something new everyday, because tonight he learned that Matt Hardy has a death wish.

* Brock Lesnar vs. Matt Hardy
Hmm...wonder who is gonna win this one....The match begins quickly as Lesnar shoves Hardy out of the ring. Lesnar rams Hardy in the ring post outside the ring. Lesnar drives Hardy in the corner again. He tries to do it again but Hardy lifts hit leg up and stops Lesnar. Lesnar clotheslines Hardy, then tries to rip his arm off. Lesnar clotheslines Hardy again. Lesnar starts to mess with Hardy, and Hardy counters a clothesline with a roll up for a two count. Lesnar hits Hardy with a belly to belly suplex. Hardy is whipped into the turnbuckle. Lesnar kicks at Hardy’s head. Lesnar goes for another clothesline but Hardy moves and Lesnar goes out of the ring. Hardy jumps from the top rope and is caught by Lesnar. Hardy rams Lesnar into the ring post. They get back in the ring and Hardy kicks Lesnar in the back of the head. Hardy sets up for the twist of fate but Lesnar counters with the F-5 and pins for a 3 count. After the match Lesnar runs back up to the ring and power bombs Hardy twice.

* Backstage Stephanie is presented with a signed contract with the Raw defector by Dawn Marie. Stephanie says that the main event will be a triple threat match between Benoit, Angle and the Raw defector. She tells Dawn to make sure Eric Bischoff is watching to see one of his superstars defect.

* Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit vs. ???(the Raw defector)
After the commercial Benoit is already in the ring. Angle is announced and after he comes out Stephanie comes out to announce who the defector is. It is the Undertaker! Taker gets in the ring and Benoit and Angle double team him.. Taker is whipped in the corner. He boots Benoit in the face and clotheslines Angle. Taker hits a back body drop on Angle. Taker tries to boot Angle but gets caught on the ropes. Benoit comes from behind and the two double team Taker again. Angle chokes Taker with his foot. Benoit and Angle suplex Taker. Then they clothesline Taker over the top rope. Angle immediately attacks Benoit and tries to get the ankle lock. Angle German suplexes Benoit, until Benoit counters with a German suplex of his own. Angle tries to get the ankle lock but Benoit got to the ropes. Benoit whips Angle into the ropes. Benoit hits a release German suplex on Angle. Benoit covers Angle and Taker breaks up the count. Taker goes to work on Benoit. Taker drops Benoit on the turnbuckle. Taker covers Benoit, but Benoit kicks out. Taker signal for the last ride. Angle comes in a hits Taker in the back of the knee. Angle grabs a chair. The ref stops Angle. Benoit brings in a chair and hits Taker with it. The ref begins to count but Angle pulls out Benoit. Angle covers Taker for a two count. Taker throws Angle out of the ring. Benoit hits a German suplex on Taker.. Taker delivers a choke slam to Benoit. Taker covers but Angle breaks it up.. Angle buts Taker in the ankle lock. Benoit breaks up the hold. They knock Angle out of the ring. Benoit locks in the cross face on Taker. Angle comes from behind and gets the ankle lock on Taker while Benoit has the cross face locked in. Angle goes fro an angle slam but Benoit puts him in the cross face. Angle counters and puts Benoit in the ankle lock. Benoit reaches the ropes and Angle breaks the hold only to re-apply it. Taker rolls up Angle for a two count. Angle delivers the Angle slam to Taker. Benoit throws Angle over the top rope. Taker delivers the last ride to Benoit and covers for the victory. Taker is now the number one contender for the Undisputed Championship.
