Battle Royal for the US #1 contenders scene featuring lots of guys. Rey won eliminating Angle last.

JBL defeated Hardcore Holly to retain title.

Heidenrich came out to 'apologise' and went mad lying down. Taker came out after quite a while to an insane pop and they had a quick match. Taker won with Tombstone.

Carlito defeated Rey to retain title using the ropes to cheat.

Eddie vs. Luther went to DQ when Jindrack interefered. Angle then came down but Show made the save and cleared the house with Eddie to end the show.

Great show, good crowd. Taker was by far the most over.

Report by: Beck, rajah.com reader

Show starts with Theodore R. Long in the back talking to most of the
smackdown roster, he announces that John Cena was involved in a brawl at an
"after-hours" club, and that he had some sever puncture wounds, one of which
was to his kidney. The G.M. then announces a Battle Royale for the Number
One Contendership for the US Title to take place later in the night.

The Pyro goes off and Smackdown officially starts with RVD Vs Rene Dupree.
Kenzo comes out and sings "born in America" to heat. The referee then kicks
Kenzo out and the match starts. RVD hits a botched suplex landing Dupree on
the back of his head, but the French Tickler seemed ok from it. Van Dam won
it with the 5-Star Frog Splash.

JBL is shown backstage. He asks where we are tonight, then asks if The
Beatles came from Manchester. JBL goes on to say that fighting Hardcore
Holly 3 weeks in a row is madness. He then further insults England, saying
that she is no longer the aggressive nation that she used to be, and is now
a doormat to Europe.

Luther is shown in the back with the page 3 girls from the Sun. He says that
he is going to win the battle royale and is going to beat Eddie in a No
Mercy rematch later. He then asks the girls back to his room afterwards so
that he can win again, but they say that they are all with Eddie tonight.

Charlie Hass is next out, he hobbles down to the ring followed by his
opponent for the night, Billy Kidman. Kidman works over Hass' bandaged knee,
removing the support in the process, then his the Shooting Star Press for
the win. Dawn Marie ran down to try and stop Kidman from hitting the SSP,
and after failing she helped to carry him out, placing his hand on her
"puppy" as she did so.

Teddy tells Heyman that he has to make Heidenreich appologise for his
actions last week on Smackdown, or else they will all be fired. Heyman says
"yes sir" and walks out.

Everyone is out for the Battle Royale, which moves through quite quickly.
Eddie accidentally lands on the floor when eliminating Luther... climbs back
onto the apron and the ref's look confused, but angle soon knocks him off
the apron. Rey and Angle are the last two in the ring. They have a great
match with lots of near eliminations by both of them. Finish comes when
Angle is on the apron, and Rey does a 619 around the outside of the ring
post kicking angle's back, causing him to fall. Rey Rey is the No. 1
Contender!

Rey is interviewed backstage, Carlito comes up to him and challenges him
tonight. Rey says that is cool. Carlito then sneak attacks Rey.

JBL comes out in a small car with the bullhorns on, and it looks rediculous.
Good old England. Holly comes out and the Title Match begins. Holly tries to
use a cricket bat at one point in the match, then sneds JBL onto the table,
but it doesnt break. JBL gets the win eventually with a thumping char shot
to Holly's head.

Heyman and Heidenreich come out to the ring, Heyman appologises, then forces
Heidenreich to read an apology aloud. He then challenges the Undertaker, and
says that if Taker doesnt come out he will hurt more people. Heidenreich
walks around the ring then Heyman forces him back inside and he lies down
for about 5 minutes with Heyman talking to him. Suddenly the lights go out
and Taker appears. He makes his way to the ring and the bell sounds. Taker
chokeslams Heyman, then delivers both the chokeslam and the Tombstone to
Heidenreich after a short match. After the match Heidenreich carried Heyman
up the ramp, then got tired and had to drag him the rest of they way to the
back.

The US Title Match came next, with Rey taking on Carlito Caribean Cool.
Carlito seemed to go for a powerbomb stly move several times, which might
become his finisher eventually, but tonight he won with a roll up, using the
ropes to gain the victory.

Eddie Vs Luther doesnt last long as Jindrak comes down to the ring and
throws Eddie into the steps. The ref calls for the bell, and Jindrak and
Reigns continue to beat down Eddie. Angle then comes down with hair
clippers again and goes to shave Eddie, but Big Show comes down and clears
house.

Tony Chimmel thanks us for coming, and thats it for Smackdown in the UK.

This was a much better show than i was antisipating. The only let down was
the crowd who weren't as pumped up as they were for Raw. Good show though,
and the return of the Undertaker made it that much better.

Report by: Sean Wilson, rajah.com reader

At the start of the show, we see a clip of Theodore Long in the back
telling all the Smackdown superstars that Cena won't be here tonight
due to an attack at a nightclub after last week's Smackdown.
Apparently he's suffered multiple injuries including a punctured lung,
and is out indefinately. We are then informed that due to Cena not
being here, we would see a Open Invitation, US Championship, #1
Contender Battle Royale later tonight. Theodore Long tells the
superstars that Cena sent him the message that the show must go on,
and with that, Smackdown begins.

RVD vs Renee Dupree
Before the match, Kenzo Suzuki butchers "Living in America" and he is
sent to the back, along with Hiroki. Fairly decent match which sees
Renee do the French Tickler to a decent pop and also a really bad
German Suplex which saw Renee land right on his head, surprisingly he
was able to continue. RVD hit the frog splash for the win.

Charlie Haas vs Billy Kidman
Charlie came to the ring, limping and selling a knee injury. Kidman
attacked the knee throughout the match and won with a Shooting Star
Press. Contrary to the other report, I think it was actually Dawn
Marie at ringside pleading with Kidman not to hit the SSP, Charlie was
helped to the back by Nick Patrick and Dawn Marie.

Backstage, Theodore Long confronted Paul Heyman, telling him that what
Heidenreich did last week was irresponsible, and that the board of
directors had held talks with Long over the incident. Long stated that
he is responsible for the welfare of the fans and that if he went down
because of this, he would take Heyman with him. Long the proceeded to
order Heyman to the ring for a public apology later in the night, from
both Heyman and Heidenreich.

Open Invitation, US Championship, #1 Contender Battle Royale
Most Superstars enter, including Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle, Rey
Mysterio, Renee Dupree, RVD etc..
Fairly standard Battle Royale until the final 2 superstars: Kurt Angle
and Rey Mysterio, crowd really behind Rey. Some awesome work between
the 2, Rey wins after hitting a 619 around the ring post knocking Kurt
off the apron.

Backstage, Josh Matthews is interviewing Rey Mysterio when Carlito
Caribbean Cool arrives. He tells Rey that winning the Battle Royale
was cool, but he didn't want the match next week, next month or next
year, he wanted it tonight, unless Rey had a problem wrestling twice
in 1 night. Rey said he had no problem and that they would meet later
on. Carlito walks away, only to attack Rey from behind and then took a
bite out of his apple and spat in Rey's face.

JBL vs Hardcore Holly, Hardcore Rules for the WWE Championship
Fairly standard hardcore match, crowd weren't really into it, I think
the majority hated Holly more than JBL, but I doubt you'll notice that
on TV. JBL won with a chairshot to the head.

Heidenreich and Heyman came to the ring for their public apology.
Heyman apologises, and Heidenreich proceeds to read an apology from a
piece of paper. He says he's sorry for what happened last week, but
then challenged the Undertaker to come down. No sign of Taker,
Heidenreich gets really angry and looks as if he's going to attack
somebody again, he ends up lying in the ring frustrated.

Heidenreich was in the ring for a good 5 or so minutes until Taker
came down to the biggest reaction of the night. We were given an
impromptu match-up which saw Heyman choke-slammed and Taker won the
match with the tombstone. Fairly short match.
Note: I'm sure that this wasn't taped and was just a treat for the
fans, as the video screen seemed to indicate that it wasn't being
taped for Television, and it wouldn't make sense for Taker to beat
Heidenreich in a squash match.

Carlito Caribbean Cool vs Rey Mysterio for the US Championship
Not a bad match, the fans gave Carlito a mixed reaction, but the
majority were behind Rey Mysterio. The end saw Carlito get the win by
holding onto the ropes for the pinfall victory.

Eddie Guerrero vs Luther Reigns
Eddie came to the ring with the Page 3 girls, who had earlier snubbed
Luther Reigns' offer of going out after the show. Crowd was really
behind Eddie, the ending saw Mark Jindrak attack Kurt leading to a DQ.
Post match saw Kurt come out with the scissors, but Big Show made the
save much to the annoyance of Angle, Reigns and Jindrak. And I think
this is where the show ended.
