WWE RAW Report
Aired LIVE! From Indianapolis, IN
November 15, 2004
Reported by: The Worm, rajah.com RAW reporter
Hi guys, I'm sorry for not being able to do the report last week. I had an unfortunate incident happen to me last week and therefore wasn't able to do the report. I'll explain at the end. I also apologize for the lateness of this report, because my internet connection hasn't been working too well. I'm hoping that when I return from Thanksgiving break in a couple of weeks, things will be better.
I watched Survivor Series Sunday night and it was awesome. What will happen tonight now that Orton's team will be running the show?
RAW opens with La Resistance in the ring waving the Quebec flags. Sylvain Grenier has the microphone and once again, it's time to hear the Canadian anthem. Before that happens, interim GM Maven comes out with a mic of his own.
Maven wanted to come out and welcome everyone in Indy to Monday Night RAW. Thanks to his team's victory last night, for the next four weeks while Bischoff is vacationing, it'll be Randy Orton, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, and Maven running the show. Since tonight is Maven's night, he thought he would come out and give everyone a little taste of what to expect. Maven proceeds to announce the matches for tonight (I got a phone call, so I missed it)
Match #1 (Tag Title Elimination Match) - La Resistance (C) vs. Rhyno & Tajiri vs. Eugene & William Regal
I guess it's a triple threat tag team title match. Rhyno and Conway kick things off. They exchange holds and Conway whips Rhyno, goes for a hip toss, only to have Rhyno counter it into one of his onw. Rhyno stomps a mudhole into Conway and Conway clocks Rhyno with a right hand. Conway works Rhyno into a corner and the two exchange blows. Rhyno whips Conway into the turnbuckle and delivers a back body drop. Tajiri is tagged in and they double team Rob Conway.
Tajiri goes for a pin, but Conway kicks out. Eugene is tagged in by Conway and the two shake hands. Eugene takes Tajiri down and goes for a pin, but Tajiri kicks out. Eugene tries to spin Tajiri around, but Tajiri counters the airplane spin into a sunset flip. We see several pin holds exchanged, but each person kicks out. Tajiri tries for the Kick of Death, but Eugene ducks and tries to roll up Tajiri to no avail.
More pins are exchanged, but these two guys are pretty evenly matched. Tajiri does some mat wrestling, and Eugene tries to pin Tajiri, but Tajiri kicks out. Tajiri takes Eugene down and gets him into a bow and arrow submission as we go to commercial.
Coming back to RAW, Eugene is riding Tajiri like a pony. Eugene is disappointed as Conway somehow tags himself back in. Tajiri is control as he takes it to Conway and drop kicks Grenier off the apron. Grenier is tagged in and he body slams Tajiri. He drops a leg and goes for a pin, but Tajiri kicks out. Grenier suplexes Tajiri, but Tajiri kicks out. I got another phone call, but during that time, Rhyno & Tajiri appear to have been eliminated, leaving Eugene & Regal and La Resistance. Eugene and Conway are going at it with Conway choking Eugene in a corner with his foot. Conway talks some trash to Eugene and Regal tries to get involved, but Eugene manages to deliver a Rock Bottom to the co-champion. Both men are down, Grenier is tagged in and Eugene just makes the tag to Regal.
Regal cleans house, but Grenier nails him in the back. Conway tries to use the flag on Regal, but Regal steps out of the way and he nails Grenier instead. Regal seems to have this match won, but as he has Conway pinned, he lets him up and he decides to let Eugene in to deliver the People's Elbow and we have NEW WWE World Tag Team Champions!!!
Winner and NEW Champions: Eugene & William Regal
Post-match, Eugene decides to let a few kids into the ring and they all run around (even Regal joins in on the fun) the ring (the littlest one stumbles) and then we go to commercial.
Backstage Action:
Returning to RAW, we see Maria in an interview with William Regal. Regal is still catching his breath, and then all of a sudden, Eugene comes running up and he dumps chocolate milk over Maria and Regal. Eugene is excited as he says that they're like the British Bulldogs and Legion of Doom. Regal gets the chance to clean off Maria's chest (lucky bastard), and Eugene decides to take a look at what she's got, but Regal chastises him by saying he'll go blind.
We also see Maven heading to his office, and when he enters, we see Triple H waiting for him. Triple H decides to offer Maven a membership into Evolution rather than having him face Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship. Triple H tries to mess with Maven's mind by saying he's been looking for someone to replace Orton, and Maven is the guy he wants. Triple H knows he's been hurting after the beatdown he got from Snitsky last night. Maven's not afraid to wrestle hurt, and Triple H knows that and that's why he wants him. Maven has friends, but Triple H wants to know where his friends were at when Snitsky attacked him. Triple H continues to play mind games with Maven, and I'm sensing that Maven is gonna cave and join Evolution sooner or later. Triple H wants Maven to think about his decision and when the time comes, Triple H will be in the ring waiting an answer and it's time for our next commercial.
The WWE Monster Job of the Week features Lita delivering a beatdown to Trish Stratus after she got herself disqualified for using a steel chair on Trish.
Match #2 (Singles) - Lita vs. Molly Holly:
My favorite diva is back in action tonight (Molly for those who mistakenly think I like that pudgy Lita) and they lock up. They rumble around the ring and Lita chants are loud tonight. Lita is in control of Molly as she clubs on her back. She suplexes Molly and kip sup. Molly is whipped, she reverses, but Lita holds the ropes. Lita pins Molly, but Molly kicks out. Lita whips Molly into a corner and follows it up with a clothesline. She tries it again, but Molly lifts her up and hits the snake eyes. Molly connects with her handspring elbow and suplexes Lita, but Lita kicks out of the pin cover.
Molly rakes Lita's fugly face and as she picks her up, Lita fights back, but Molly comes back with offense of her own and she whips Lita. Lita connects with a hurricanrana followed by a monkey flip and a Russian leg sweep. Lita goes for a pin, but Molly kicks out. Lita manages to get Molly into an aggressive rear naked choke and Molly is forced to tap out (damn shame too)
Winner: Lita
Post-match, Trish comes out and she's got a protective face mask on since Lita broke her nose last night. She throws a fit about having to wear it. She tells the fans to not hate her because she's beautiful and Trish decides to go down to beat up Lita. While she is distracted, she is attacked by my main woman, but she is DDTed for her efforts. Trish gets smacked in the face and Lita backs up the ramp smiling as Trish has another fit and then we go to commercial.
We're back and The Coach is in the ring, and he decides to pick on JR. The Coach tells JR to come down to the ring and I wonder what's gonna happen. JR's theme song plays and JR doesn't want to be doing this, but someone needs to teach that boy a lesson.
Match #3 (Singles) - Jim Ross vs. Jonathan Coachman:
Before this can get started, Maven comes up on the TitanTron. Maven didn't tell the Coach he'd be facing JR, but rather Randy Orton! Coach is scared, and as he goes to run out of the ring, JR trips him up and the Coach rolls out. He falls over the security barrier. Orton catches him and tosses him back in.
Randy Orton vs. Jonathan Coachman:
Orton puts the Coach on the ropes and he jiggles the rope to add some punishment. Complete squash as Orton hits the RKO for the pinfall victory.
Winner: Randy Orton
Backstage Action:
The Grish is interviewing Edge & Christian and he mentions that it's almost been three years since E&C last teamed. Edge has written a book and he should be facing Triple H for the title, but Maven made it so Edge has to start all over by competing in a tag team match with Christian, of all people. Edge & Christian aren't happy with this, but Christian tells Edge that since he pinned the guy that cost him his chance at the title, HBK, Edge should follow his lead or get out of the way. The Grish comments that E&C have seen better days, and Edge takes exception to that. He decides to give a five second pose, but as he counts down with his fingers, his middle finger is left but a bumper showing the upcoming match is quickly shown (how's that for a five second pose?) and then we go to commercial.
Orton is wandering around backstage and he meets Maven. Orton thanks Maven for his match and he wants to know how he feels about his title match. Maven is still unsure about joining Evolution and they get into a small argument as Orton tries to get Maven to stay out of Evolution.
Match #4 (Tag) - Edge & Christian (w/ Tyson Tomko) vs. Shelton Benjamin & Chris Benoit:
I wonder if Edge & Christian will resort to their old antics or do they still hate each other, even after three years since they last teamed? I wanna thank the guy who came up with this match as I have been wanting to see E&C team again.
Christian attacks Benoit from behind and Benoit reverses a whip to deliver a shoulder block. Benoit chops away at Christian in a corner, but Christian turns the table. Benoit changes it up again and whips Christian hard into the opposite corner. Shelton is tagged in and Christian ducks a clothesline, but is hit by a flap jack. Shelton goes for a pin, but Christian kicks out. Christian attacks and Edge is tagged in and he takes it to Shelton. Edge suplexes Shelton Benjamin and goes for a pin, but Shelton kicks out. Edge elbows Shelton's back and rams him into the turnbuckle. They exchange blows and Shelton gains the upper hand. Edge is whipped into a corner, but he manages to fight out of it. He knocks down Shelton Benjamin and tags in Christian. Christian puts Shelton into a corner and chokes him with his hands. Shelton is whipped to the opposite end and Christian hits a monkey flip. Shelton connects with a powerslam, but Christian kicks out of the pin and Edge is tagged in.
Shelton hits a facebuster on Edge and he tags in Benoit. Edge rolls out of the ring and E&C get into an argument, allowing the face team to hit a dropkick on both men. Benoit & Shelton are left standing as we go to commercial.
Back on RAW, Edge tries to pin Shelton, but he kicks out. Edge locks on an armbar, but Shelton rolls Edge up into a pin, but Edge kicks out. Edge tries for a pin of his own, but Shelton kicks out. Christian is tagged in and he takes Shelton down, but Shelton kicks out of the pin cover. Christian puts Shelton on the ropes and chokes him, and while the ref is distracted, E&C double team Shelton. Christian locks in an armbar and SHelton tries to fight out of it, but Christian kicks him in the gut. Christian connects with an armbar takedown, but Shelton kicks out of the pin cover. E&C try to use a classic manuever, but it fails. Shelton connects with the Dragon Whip on Edge and Benoit is tagged in (every time I see Benoit come in, I keep thinking it's Christian due to the yellow tights). Benoit delivers the rolling Germans to Christian and Tomko tries to get involved. Edge tries to spear Benoit, but misses and spears Tomko off the apron. Edge is hit by the rolling Germans and it's time for the flying headbutt.
Before Benoit can climb the turnbuckle, Christian attacks him and from out of nowhere, Christian is splashed by Shelton and is hit by a T-Bone suplex. Benoit connects with the headbutt and puts Christian in the crossface. Christian taps out and that's that for this match. My question is, was this a one time only thing for E&C or will they ever reunite again?
Winner: Chris Benoit & Shelton Benjamin
Post-match, Edge is beside himself as he confronts Christian. Edge is pissed off and he proceeds to attack the hell out of Christian, ending it with a toss into the ringpost. Edge blames Christian and everyone else as the reason that he is not the World champion and then we go backstage.
Maven is talking on the phone and we see Ric Flair enter his office. To entice Maven into joining Evolution, Flair brings in a couple of chicks to flirt with him. Up next will be the lingerie pillow fight between Christy Hemme and Stacy Keibler as we go to commercial.
Match #5 (Lingerie Pillow Fight) - Christy Hemme vs. Stacy Keibler:
The King decides to plug some Clearasil product before this match gets underway, and I love how energetic and sexy Christy Hemme is. Just too bad I'll never get to meet her in person, along with so many other people (namely my favorite actress, Angelina Jolie).
They quickly disrobe and toss pillows at each other. They then beat each other with the pillows and Stacy decides to remove her heels. Stacy seems to be in complete control of this one as she knocks Christy onto the bed. Christy gets spanked, but she comes back to pin Stacy for the win.
Winner: Christy Hemme
We see Triple H eyeing Christy Hemme on his TV backstage and Batista comes up to talk to him. Batista doesn't understand why he wants Maven to join Evolution since Batista just wants to destroy him. Triple H tries to joke with Batista, but he's not laughing as we go to commercial. You just know Maven's gonna join Evolution, because you already know he won't be champion by the time the show's over.
Up next, we get to see another Simon Dean infomercial. Simon Dean wants to apologize for what he said over the past two weeks. He realizes that some people are sensitive about being overweight, but you can't deny the truth. The people need the Simon System because the system can help them. As he looks into the crowd, he can see that they're in grave danger of having a heart attack. Simon Dean won't let that happen and he introduces his buddy, Eric. Simon can see he is morbidly obese and in failing health. He goes through his product line and he wants Eric to eat his protein bar. Eric doesn't like the taste of it and then Simon decides to make fun of him for not eating it. Before Simon Dean can continue on, he is interrupted by Rosey. Simon Dean doesn't want anything to do with him and he tries to avoid messing with Rosey. However, he changes his mind and decides to mess with him by calling him fat. Simon Dean gives him a bar, but Rosey doesn't wanna eat it and attacks Simon Dean instead. Rosey goes to splash Dean, but he pulls Eric in front of him and Rosey runs into him instead. Simon throws his fitness powder into Rosey's face and hightails it out of the ring and up the ramp.
The Smackdown Rebound recaps the events leading up to the match with Carlito Cool defending his US title against John Cena this Thursday and now it's time for another commercial.
Backstage, we see the girls continuing to flirt with Maven and then we see Jericho and Benoit entered. They feel Maven's made the right decision, but Maven still does not know what he was going to do. Maven reminds them that they didn't help Maven when he was attacked, but Jericho convinces him to make the right decision. Maven tries to talk to Benoit to find out if Jericho is right. Benoit really pounds the message that Maven needs to make the right decision by staying out of Evolution and then we go to commercial.
The WWE Rewind recaps Orton defeating Triple H so that his team can run RAW for a month.
The Wrestlemania Recall recaps the HBK vs. Bret Hart Iron Man match back in 1996 where HBK defeats Hart and wins the WWE Championship.
We see another vignette promoting Mohammad Hussan and Khosrow Daivari. Is it just me or does Mohammad look like Rich Vos from Last Comic Standing?
Main Event (World Title) - Triple H (C) vs. Maven:
My Spidey sense is tingling and we all know what's going to come out of this one. We'll be looking at the newest member of Evolution by the end of the show.
Note: Maybe he had it sooner, but I just realized that Triple H has gotten himself a new entrance video.
Notable Sign: "Buy a Bra, Flair!" That guy is right about one thing.
Triple H takes the mic and he wants to know what Maven has decided. He can't have both the title and a spot in Evolution and Maven is down with one thing: that's becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion, so I guess his mind has been made up. Will Maven pull off an upset of a lifetime or will he go back to jerking the curtain?
The bell rings and this match has officially started.
Triple H signals for Flair and Batista, but Jericho and Benoit immediately come out and join Maven at ringside.
Triple H has Maven in a headlock. Maven whips Triple H, but he is knocked down by a shoulder block. Triple H is whipped, and he is hit with a hip toss and a dropkick to send him out of the ring (it seems like the drop kick never connected).
Maven goes for a pin, but Triple H kicks out. Triple H backs Maven into a corner and he whips him into the opposite end. Maven fights out and goes up top, but Batista knocks him off. The ref ejects Batista from the match and then Flair decides to get in to mess with the ref, causing him to be ejected as well.
Maven fights back with rights and then whips HHH, he reverses and connects with a high knee on Maven. Triple H decides to talk trash to Benoit and Y2J, allowing Maven to recover, but that doesn't last long as Triple H hits a spinebuster. The pin cover is broken up by Benoit and Triple H picks up Maven and puts him into an abdominal stretch. Maven counters it into one of his own, but he gets out of it. He leaves the ring to mess with Benoit, but as Maven tries to grab Triple H, Triple H pulls him out of the ring. Jericho distracts the ref, allowing Benoit to toss Triple H into the stairs.
Both men are down as Jericho tosses HHH back into the ring and as they get up, Maven fires off right hands. Triple H whips Maven, who comes back with a flying shoulder block. Maven goes to suplex Triple H, but decides to whip him instead and Triple H hits a facebuster. Benoit and Jericho continue to be involved with this match as Benoit trips Triple H. Maven goes for a pin, but Triple H kicks out.
Maven plants the Game with a DDT and then goes up top. He connects with a flying bulldog, but Triple H kicks out of the ensuing pin cover. He goes up top again and goes for a cross body, but Triple H ducks out of the way. Triple H sets Maven up for the Pedigree, but Benoit distracts the ref and Jericho hits Triple H with a bulldog and the Liontamer. Maven goes for the cover, but Triple H barely kicks out! This match is getting good and even I had some "oh, shit!" moments as Maven ALMOST won the title. Triple H managed to connect with the Pedigree, but Jericho puts Maven's foot on the ropes. The ref sees it and ejects Jericho from the ring. While the ref is distracted, Benoit hits a German and the flying headbutt and Maven barely makes the cover, but Triple H kicks out. Edge comes out and gets rid of Benoit. He spears the ref by accident and Jericho and Benoit assault the Edgemeister. Batista and Flair come back out and attack Jericho and Benoit and while chaos has broken loose, Triple H has the belt and is ready to use it, but Orton comes out to make the save and nails Triple H with the belt. Flair pulls the ref out of the ring as he makes the count, but Orton comes back to attack Flair. I JUST LOVE RAW!!!!
At this time, Snitsky comes out and delivers a boot to Maven. Triple H picks up Maven into the Pedigree and it connects. Triple H retains the title to end this fuckin' awesome match.
Winner: Triple H
Benoit, Jericho, and Orton stand over a fallen Maven as Triple H crawls his way up the ramp, and I guess I was wrong all along. :-(
END OF SHOW
The Story:
I go to college in Muskegon, MI, okay? On Saturday, November 6th, 2004, I get a phone call from the college's campus safety saying that my bedroom at the townhouse I was living in had been broken into. I guess the thief somehow got the keys from my roommate (I'm unclear on exactly how that happened).
I eventually find out that my VCR, a pillow case, my Xbox, Super Nintendo, and GameCube systems were all stolen along with all of the games, controllers, and accessories that I had with them. I don't want to get in depth with this story because I wasn't at the townhouse when it all happened as I was home for the weekend. Fortunately for me, I am covered by my parents' homeowner's insurance and the insurance company is willing to give me the money to replace it all.
However, I really don't want to have them do that because I want the Muskegon police to catch the asshole and get my stuff returned. I don't know a lot about the guy, other than he is an African-American and that his name is Sam. He stole my roommate's car at gun and knifepoint and is more than likely still on the loose, and he has ripped off other college students in the past.
If any Michigan readers out there want to help me find the guy, be on the lookout for a '91 Oldsmobile Cutlass. It's pretty beat up, rusty, and is silver or gray in color. It has black and gray travel seat covers. One of them has dragons on it while the other has Japanese symbols. I just wish the officer I have to speak with regarding this matter would return my calls. >:-( Anyway, I've moved out of that old place and into a new place about a block and a half away. I just hope I don't have any more problems.
