Billy Kidman vs Chavo Guerrero (v)
Opening match with great speed and intensity from
both. Teased SSP from Kidman, but he got crotched by
Chavo. Chavo hit a tornado ddt for the three count.
Chavo had a huge pop for his entrance. Jesus did a run
in to beat down Chavo and cut a really weak promo
about how it wasn't personal to Chavo, but Jesus and
Carlito were there to attack everyone in the Smackdown
Lockerroom. He left through the crowd.
Orlando Jordan (v) vs. Nunzio
Orlando got heat from asking to be reintroduced as
JBL's chief of staff. He and Nunzio put on an
entertaining match, with a decent showing of technical
mat wrestling by both. Orlando looked huge in person,
even before Nunzio came in for a comparison. He took
the three count from a fairly even match.
Theodore Long came out to the ring to work the crowd.
He was magnetic on the stick. He had us vote on the
match stipulation for the Kenzo Suzuki and Rene Dupree
v Charlie Haas and Hardcore Holly title match. It
ended up being a hardcore match. Granted, all three
were similar, being either no DQ, falls count anywhere
or hardcore rules.
Heidenriech (V) vs. Paul London
Heidenriech comes out with his straight jacket on, and
in person even more so looks like a cheap Goldberg
ripoff. He could wrestle about as well. London tried
to make this entertaining, but I doubt even Angle
could carry Heidenriech. After the squashing of
London, the crowd started chanting Taker, Taker, Taker
so deliverance boy had to come back to the ring and
further beat on London.
Miss Jackie (v) vs Dawn Marie.
The women on Smackdown are trying, but can't compare
to the women's division on Raw. The match wasn't
really entertaining. They both should stick to valet
work.
JBL(v) vs. Booker T vs. Eddie Guerrero
title defense
JBL comes out, and works the stick to some wonderfully
comedic heel heat. If he could only work the ring like
he works the stick. Booker T comes out, and JBL says
he doesn't have to wrestle a singles match untill
armageddon as per Theodore Long, so our Playa Teddy
Long comes out to say it will be a three way dance for
the title with Eddie Guerrero added to the mix. JBL
tries to walk out, but Booker and Eddie bring him back
to the ring, and go back and forth choosing who can
beat on JBL. Then when booker goes for the 4th pinning
attempt of the match, Eddie pulls him off, and the two
go at it. Wonderful offense, but eventually JBL comes
back in with his house boy Virgil I mean Jordan and
gets beaten on again. Booker puts Eddie out, and JBL
hits Booker with the belt for the three count. Post
match, Eddie hits the frog splash on JBL, and Booker
hits the Spinaroonie.
Kenzo Suzuki and Rene Dupree (v) vs Charlie Haas and
Hardcore Holly
Hardcore Rules, title defense
Entertaining match, but they really did little in the
way of hardcore action. A trash can was used, but no
really nasty bumps. Kenzo and Haas were in the ring
the majority of the time, and were really entertaining
to watch. The win came when Hiroko sent powder to the
eyes to steal the win from the Charlie Haas Face Tag
Team of the Night.
Spike Dudley(v) vs. Funaki
title defense
Entertaining but unbelievable match. Funaki did a lot
of humor spots, but Spike needs to develop more
offense if he is to be a long term heel. He still
could bump like no other, but he is limited in
fighting back. He won with the eventual acid drop.
The Honor Society vs RVD, Rey Mysterio, and Big Show
RVD had huge pop coming in, as did TBS. The honor
society only really got heat from Angle. Angle was
amazing, but the rest of the honor society doesn't
even compare, and didn't look ready to headline next
to experienced pros in their opponents. Show did a
great comedy skit where he told Jindrak to come to his
hotel room later and motioned he'd ride him, with Rey
Rey motioning that Jindrak would also be sucking some
dick. The match Rey hit the 619, RVD the 5 star, and
show double chokeslammed Jindrack and Reigns for the
finish.
