Raw House Show
Saturday November 27
By: Amber C., rajah.com reader

I was at the Philly show last night. It was the first house show I've ever attended, and I thought it was great. I overheard an arena employee say they were expecting about 4,500 people. The floor was filled and about 3/4 of the lower level was filled.

Some young guy, I think his name was Justin was the announcer. As we were standing for the National Anthem, Mohaamed Hassen came out and started talking his trash. Everyone was on their feet boing. The boos were so loud, that you really couldn't hear what was being said on the mic. Philly hated him. Hassen wrestled Rhyno. Rhyno got a good pop because he used to wrestle for ECW which was based out of Philly. Rhyno lost after some interference. After the match, he got on the mic and apolgogized to Philly for letting us down.
Next match was Tajiri vs Chris Masters. Masters didn't impress me. He was a cross between Ric Flair, Ravishing Ric Rude, and Randy Orton. He wore a robe, claimed every woman wanted him, and had a cocky persona. It was an ok match. Everyone wanted the Tarantula, but Tajiri didn't get the chance.
Winner: Chris Masters

Up next was Simon Dean vs Rosey. Simon said Philly had to be the fattest city ever and blamed it all on Philly cheesesteaks, which he pulled out of his duffel bag. The best part of the match was when Rosey stuffed the cheeseteak in Dean's mouth. I wasn't impressed with Simon Dean.
Winner: Simon Dean

Molly Holly vs Lita: Huge pop for Lita. The crowd loved her. The match could have been more exciting.
Winner: Lita

Next match was Gene Snitsky vs Val Venis. As soon as Val came out, everyone knew he was going to get killed. I was surprised the match wasn't over in 2 minutes. There were a few baby killer chants, he didn't get that much heat.
Winner: Gene Snitsky

La Resistance vs Eugene and William Regal
La Resistance were booed almost as badly as Mohaamed Hassen. Grenier attempted to sing O Canada, but he was cut off by Eugene's music. Eugene hammed it up for the crowd. He stole one of the flags, and proceded to ride it like a broom, play it like a guitar, and do the limbo. Eugene got hammered for most of the match, but people still love him. After the match, he pulled a couple kids in the ring and danced with them.
Winners: Eugene and Regal

Stacy Keibler came out next. As soon as she hit the ring, just about every guy in my section ran to the front of the aisle to gawk. She shot some t shirts before Coach came out an interrupted her. He said he was going to win the battle royal on Monday night, The segment ended when Stacy shot him in the stomach with a t shirt.

Intermission

Shelton Benjamin vs Christian with Tyson Tomko
Christian got huge heat when he started trash talking the Eagles. Philly is a huge football town. Some guy in the very front row of my section literally took the Eagles jersey he was wearing off his back and threw it to Shelton. Shelton actually wore the jersey during the match. Huge pop.
Winner: Shelton Benjamin

Edge vs Chris Benoit
Edge got a pretty good pop in Philly. They like him here. He didn't say anything on the mic, whic was surprising. It was a great match. No spear from Edge, but Benoit landed about 5 German suplexes, got Edge into the sharp shooter and crippler crossface, and did the flying head butt. Edge used a steel chair to get the win.
The main event was a 6 man tag match. Batista, Flair, and HHH vs Maven, Jericho, and Orton. All of these guys got big pops. Ric Flair is still the man in Philly. Lots of Wooo's and 4 Horsemen signs. Batista was walking around ringside before the match smiling at people. HHH took to the top turnbuckle and posed. There were a ton of Orton signs and Orton t shirts. He's way over, at least in Philly. Flair and Orton spent the most time in the ring, Flair delivered some chops to Maven that echoed all over the arena. Flair also did a few face first dives to the mat. HHH attempted one too, but it literally took 2 minuted for him to finally go down. Lots of HHH sucks chants. Orton looked like he legitemately hurt his left shoulder. He was on the ground for awhile and actually called a ring attendant over. When he did get back up, he was holding his left arm close to his side. At one point, Maven went to see if he was ok and touched his left arm. Orton kind of jerked back real quick and shook his head no. Orton won the match for his team by landing an RKO on HHH.

After the match Jericho and Maven walked around the ring wearing Eagles jerseys while Orton did a lot of posing. They shook hands with fans and signed some autographs. The show was over when Orton took one final pose in the ring and left.

I thought it was an awesome show, and I'll definetely go again.
