WWE RAW Report
Aired LIVE! From Charlotte, NC
December 6th, 2004
Reported By: The Worm, rajah.com RAW reporter

Sorry for not being around last week, but I didn't have the internet set up at my place and had to wait to get it installed. Things should hopefully be back to normal for now. :-) Gotta give a shout out back to my readers as I noticed that someone gave a shout out to me (his name escapes me, sorry) in the results of a recent house show.

Tonight is the last night Orton's team will be running RAW and it'll be Chris Jericho in charge tonight. What about that triple threat match last week? That was awesome, but you know that the WWE is going to abandon all logic and Triple H will keep his belt a la fluke.

Jericho is in the ring and welcome to RAW is Jericho. Jericho starts by welcoming the crowd to his show and he says he'll talk about whether Edge or Benoit is the World Heavyweight Champion. Tonight will be the biggest party in the history of the WWE and no good party would ever be complete without getting "laid" and with that, Hawaiian leis begin to drop from the ceiling (and you thought the fans would actually get laid, you perverts).

Jericho goes through some of the matches for tonight and then introduces his band Fozzy, who is standing on the stage. He draws the crowd's attention to the Jeritron 5000 to take a look at the controversial footage from last week's triple threat match. IMO, Edge didn't start tapping until the ref's hand counted 3, so that would make Edge the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Jericho isn't sure what to decide, so he decides to bring out someone who would know what to say, and that is the Chairman of the Board, Vince McMahon. He comes down to the ring with the World Heavyweight title in hand, and you know Triple H will get his belt back. The WWE doesn't always want to capitalize on the present logic, so we will more than likely not see Edge vs. Chris Benoit to determine the World Heavyweight Champion.

Vince McMahon goes on about ties and before he can continue, his son-in-law proceeds to come out, presumably thinking he's gonna be handed back his title. Vince only has one word appropriate for Triple H, and that is congratulations. Congratulations folks, you're looking at a best-selling author. Vince plugs Triple H's fitness book, but he knows that's not why Triple H is out here. Vince McMahon then plugs Blade: Trinity, in which Triple H plays a vampire named Jarko Grimwood. Triple H tries to take the belt back, but Vince stops him. Vince didn't name him World champion and he gets angry with him. Vince is not going to name anyone World champion, and what he is going to do is dump the decision into Bischoff's lap when he returns.

He will make a decision tonight, however, and as far as Vince is concerned, the title is vacated and as of this moment, Triple H is no longer the World Heavyweight Champion. Triple H is angry by this news, but I'm still not convinced that Edge or Benoit will get the title handed to them. Vince holds up the belt as he stands on the stage and then we go to commercial.

Back on RAW, we see Triple H tearing stuff up backstage with Batista and Flair trying to calm him down. Triple H gets upset with Batista, and Batista gets upset with Triple H. Batista reminds him of how he helped him during the match. We then go to Jericho who is hanging with several chicks until he is interrupted by Christian and he is angry by something that Jericho wants him to wear down to the ring. Jericho puts a lei around Christian and Jericho decides to make fun of Christian and I guess Jericho has a new superhero outfit for Christian since he is known as Captain Charisma. Benoit then shows up and they talk about the triple threat match from last week. Tonight, we'll have a tag match between Batista & Triple H vs. Benoit & Jericho. Later tonight, we'll also see Trish vs. Lita for the Women's title and JR flubbed by saying Lita would be putting the title on the line (maybe he's hinting that Lita will win tonight?) We then see all the crap that Trish has put Lita through, such as making Lita think Kane was coming after her. We then go to a commercial break.

The WWE Body Slam of the Week recaps Maven attacking Eugene last week.

Match #1 (Singles) - Eugene (w/ William Regal) vs. Maven:

You can hear some boos as Maven makes his way down to the ring. He sure did pick up some heat rather quickly.

Maven offers to shake Eugene's hand, and they shake without incident. They lock up and Eugene wraps behind Maven. Maven switches it up and Eugene wrenches Maven's arm. Maven does the same to Eugene and they exchange some amateur wrestling moves. Eugene goes for a quick pin, but Maven is able to quickly escape. They lock up again and Maven locks on a headlock. Eugene reverses it into a wrist lock and Eugene puts Maven in a body scissors and rolls him around like Tajiri has been known to do. They lock up a third time and Maven puts Eugene in another headlock. Maven is whipped into a corner and jumps over Eugene. Maven bounces off the ropes, but Regal trips him up and the ref ejects him from ringside.

Distracted, Eugene rolls up Maven in a rolling clutch pin, but Maven kicks out. Maven congratulates Eugene for his near victories, and Maven kicks Eugene right in the knee cap. Maven kicks him again in the back of the leg to knock him down and then drop kicks him in the ass to drop him down in the corner. Maven wraps Eugene's leg around the second rope and then stomps away at him. Maven presses down on Eugene's neck with his foot, but he refuses to break it up and is subsequently disqualified.

Winner by DQ: Eugene

Post-match, Regal comes out to make the save and Maven hightails it out of the ring. Regal checks on Eugene, but Maven comes in with a tag belt and clocks Regal in the back of the skull with it. Maven's proud of himself as the crowd boos and it's time for another commercial.

JR goes through the RAW Interactive leader board and Phenomenal1 is currently in the lead with 3736 points. I should play it next week, but it'd be hard to do that when I have to do this report.

Jericho is in the ring with a couple of hot chicks. He introduces the RAW divas, which includes Christy Hemme, Stacy Keibler, Candace, Michelle, and some others I can't recognize. It looks like Jericho's going to have a limbo contest.

Fozzy is providing the music for the contest, and I can already tell you that Jericho has been the most entertaining GM. I wish he'd win the World Heavyweight title already, he really deserves a run with it.

A couple of divas are eliminated followed by Stacy and now it's Christy's turn. Christy just barely makes it and Maria is unable to make it. Looks like Christy won the contest, and she sure does have some bigguns... :-) Post-contest, Jericho decides to sing "Don't You Wish You Were Me" from the WWE Originals album while the divas dance in the ring. The lights go out and Jericho has no idea what's going on. We see Mohammad Hussan and Khosrow Daivari show up on the TitanTron. Hussan wants to know how it feels to have a nice normal time and then in an instant, your whole world changes and the fun stops. All you have you do is question why. Arab-Americans have felt like that for three years now since 9/11. For tonight, enjoy your party and next week, Mohammad Hussan will finally be making his debut. The party will be over then and he stares hard as we go to commercial.

The WWE Rewind recaps the encounter between Simon Dean and The Hurricane.

Simon Dean's music hits and he makes his way out with a gym bag and some Simon fitness powder. He takes the mic and tonight, he wants to talk to you about his Simon system. But, the only way GM Jericho would allow that to happen is if he competed in his first wrestling match. So, before he beats the bejeezus out of his opponent, he wants to talk about his fitness powder. Hurricane interrupts him and he makes his way out and Simon continues to plug his powder.

Match #2 (Singles) - Simon Dean vs. The Hurricane:

Simon gets down on all fours and he wants the Hurricane to pin him. He rolls him up in an Oklahoma roll and Simon kicks out. The Hurricane beats the hell out of Simon Dean and then puts him in a front face lock. Simon backs him up into a corner and the ref breaks them up. Simon clocks him with a right and follows it up with a backbreaker. Simon stomps away at him and then chokes him with his foot. Simon Sucks chants are running rampant through the arena and Simon body slams The Hurricane. He drops a few elbows and then goes for a pin, but the Hurricane kicks out. Simon chokes The Hurricane with his hands while doing a push up and then he picks up Hurricane. Hurricane comes back to take down Simon into a pin, but Simon kicks out and he is back in control as he knees Hurricane's arm.

Simon has Hurricane in a rear chin lock and the Hurricane is fading away. He comes to and recovers by nailing Simon in the gut. Simon connects with a knee and he goes to run the ropes, but the Hurricane comes back with a couple of clotheslines and a hurricanrana. Hurricane is whipped into a corner, but he uppercuts Simon to fight out of it. The Hurricane connects with an Impaler and he sets him up for a Shining Wizard. Simon ducks and rolls Hurricane up with a handful of tights.

Winner: Simon Dean

We go back to August 16th where Trish decides to hold a surprise bridal shower for Lita. Molly, Gail, and Trish give Lita condoms and some birth control and even show off a picture of their "baby" and Lita's first kiss from Kane and now it's time for another commercial.

We see The Coach backstage with Randy Orton. Orton, of all people, has to be pleased with Vince's announcement of Triple H being no longer the World champion. Orton did everything he could to keep Triple H from keeping the title and he has succeeded. Orton notices that the Coach has a frown on his face and Orton feels it's because he can't get laid.

We then hear Edge's music hits and Edge comes down to the ring. He takes the mic and he came here tonight ready to defend his World title. But, let him get this straight. The World title, the Holy Grail of the wrestling industry is being held up. The World title is being held up until Bischoff decides what to do with it next week. That is a travesty, a crime against Edge. It makes him sick and the fans a disgrace. You tapped out chants sound throughout the arena. Everyone knows that he won the battle royal and in his first ever World title match, he won. He did not tap out, he pinned Chris Benoit 1-2-3 in the middle of the ring. Then, the World title was his, he held it in his hands and he never felt anything so good in his life. But, it was ripped away from him and he was screwed again. He blames one person for that and that person is Randy Orton. Randy could have done the right thing, he saw the footage. He saw that Edge won the battle royal and could have made it Edge vs. Benoit for the title. He can't help that Orton's reign was a complete and utter failure and it doesn't mean he can screw Edge. He calls out Orton and Orton comes down to the ring all fired up.

He takes the mic and he responds to Edge's claims. Orton could have let Evolution wreak havoc, but he didn't. Orton tells Edge he is nothing. If Edge kicked his ass, Orton would kick it back. If Edge wants someone to blame, he should blame himself. Edge knew he would say something like that but Orton interrupts him. If there is a failure in this ring, it's Edge. In case Orton forgot, Edge ended his IC title reign and as far as Edge is concerned, Orton is his bitch. They get into a fight and refs are forced to come out to break it up. We also see Sgt. Slaughter and other agents come out to help break it up, but even they can't keep the two from fighting.

The officials finally manage to separate the two competitors, but this could turn into one intense feud. Edge certainly has the mic skills for being a heel and it's time for another commercial.

Match #3 (IC Title) - Shelton Benjamin (C) vs. Captain Charisma (w/ Tyson Tomko):

Tyson Tomko has to drag the Captain out from backstage and he looks like a ripoff of the Flash. He has Cs on both sides of his mask to serve as horns, a CC plastered across the chest, and his outfit is red and yellow.

Shelton Benjamin laughs it up and as Christian charges, Shelton puts out a hand and you can actually hear Christian's shoes squeal and he slides to a halt. The Captain hits a monkey flip, but Shelton lands on his feet. Shelton goes up top and connects with a flying clothesline and goes for a pin, but the Captain kicks out. The Captain is in control now as he stomps on Shelton and he smacks him around. Shelton tries to fight back, but the Captain comes back by suplexing him on the ropes. The Captain goes for a pin, but Shelton kicks out. Shelton is put into an abdominal stretch (JR flubbed again by calling the Captain "Christian Charisma"). Shelton comes back with a cross body into a pin, but the Captain kicks out. Shelton's recovering in a corner, but as the Cap charges, Shelton ducks and the Cap bounces off the turnbuckle.

The Cap tries to fight his way back inside and he goes up top. He comes off, but Shelton hits him to counter it. Shelton hits a Russian leg sweep and goes for a pin, but Cap kicks out. Cap comes back with a catapult into the corner, but Shelton lands on the ropes and flies off with a flying sunset flip. The Cap comes back by rolling up Shelton, but Shelton kicks out. Tyson tries to interfere, allowing the Cap to pick up the IC title. He misses with the belt shot, but the ref sees it and disposes of it. The Cap and his sidekick double team Shelton, but it has no avail as Cap kicks out of the pin attempt. Tyson once again tries to interfere as he grabs Shelton's leg, but as he lets go, Shelton spins around to connect with the Dragon Whip on Cap.

Shelton defeats Cap with a T-Bone suplex for the win.

Winner: Shelton Benjamin

Jericho comes out and announces that next week it'll be Edge vs. Orton. Fozzy plays some music to help the Captain leave the ring (a rock version of na, na, na goodbye...blah blah blah)

The Smackdown Rebound features Teddy Long telling JBL and OJ that they'll be in a handicap match against the Undertaker. I see that OJ is growing some hair (I've been working Thursday nights lately and have been missing Smackdown for the past few weeks). JBL, OJ, and the Bashams deliver one hell of a beating to the Undertaker after their match.

Commercial Break

We see Trish coming out during Lita's wedding and dissing Lita. We see Trish getting the crap beat out of her and then we go backstage.

Snitsky ambushes Lita and he continues to torment her about her miscarried baby and Kane being out of action. The announcers take us back to the beginning of RAW where Vince says the World title has been vacated for the time being until Bischoff returns next week.

Backstage, we see Triple H and Flair in the locker room. They're talking on the cellphone trying to get a hold of Bischoff. He leaves a message trying to convince Bischoff to give him his title back. Someone needs to kick Flair in the ass because I'm kinda getting sick of him always sucking up to Triple H. I sure hope Bischoff will come to his senses and will award someone OTHER than Triple H the title, or at least do something that doesn't involve Triple H in any way, shape, or form. Triple H doesn't need the title to get over with the crowd, so he should let it go and let someone else run with it...someone like Edge or Chris Jericho. Up next will be that tag match I told you about earlier as we go to commercial.

Match #4 (Tag) - Batista (w/ Ric Flair) & Triple H vs. Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit:

Lilian announces Triple H as the former World champ and he takes exception to that. He runs down the ramp and chases Lilian from ringside (I had to laugh after hearing Lilian say that, but she shouldn't have to take his crap).

Triple H & Benoit start off this match. They lock up and Triple H backs Benoit into a corner. Benoit reverses and fires off some rights followed by some chops. Benoit rams Triple H's head into the turnbuckle before tagging in Jericho. Jericho kicks Triple H in the gut and Jericho kicks him in the head to cause Triple H to flop a la Ric Flair. Jericho is still in control as he continues to take down Hunter and he falls into the ropes before Jericho tags in Benoit. Benoit fires off more chops and follows it up with a snap suplex. Benoit stomps hard on Hunter and Benoit manages to get him into a Crossface, but Batista pulls Triple H out of it. They lock up and they rumble around the ring . Benoit blocks a punch and Jericho is tagged in. Jericho chops away at Hunter and fake Irish whips Triple H around back into the same corner and out of the ring. Jericho & Benoit double team Batista to take him out of the equation. Jericho & Benoit stand triumphant in the ring as we go to commercial.

Back on RAW, Batista has Jericho in a camel clutch, and we see that Flair distracted the ref during the commercial to allow Batista get to where he was. Triple H had Jericho in an ab stretch before he tags in Batista. Batista does some damage and Triple H is tagged back in. Triple H chokes Y2J on the ropes and the ref breaks it up. The distraction allows Flair to get in a cheap shot, much to the elation of the crowd.

Triple H hits a neckbreaker and goes for a pin, but Y2J kicks out. Batista is tagged in and he continues to work on Jericho. Jericho is choked on the turnbuckle with Batista's foot and now Jericho tries to fight back. Batista whips Jericho into a corner and follows it with a clothesline. Batista goes for a pin, but Y2J kicks out. Batista whips Y2J again into a corner, but Y2J dropkicks him in the knee to fight back.

I still wanna think Benoit is Christian due to his bright yellow tights. Triple H is tagged in and then Benoit is tagged in and he cleans house. Benoit is hammering away with great intensity at Triple H. Benoit manages to connect with the rolling Germans and then Jericho comes in to deliver a Lionsault. Benoit follows it up with a flying headbutt and Jericho tries to put Hunter in the Walls. Benoit comes in to cinch a Crossface, but Batista knocks both men off The Game. Batista pummels Jericho into submission and then chokes him on the turnbuckle with his foot. Triple H brings in a chair and nails Benoit to cause a disqualification.

Winner by DQ: Chris Benoit & Chris Jericho

Post-match, Triple H hits the ref with the chair and Batista holds Jericho, but as Triple H charges, Jericho ducks and he inadvertently hits Batista. Triple H does hit Jericho with the chair eventually, but Flair asks Hunter what he has done. Triple H & Flair help Batista and Triple H apologizes for what he did, but then he decides to give up and get angry. Triple H leaves the ring and Flair continues to check on Batista.

Backstage, we see that Trish's nose has healed and a couple of crew members decide to stop and check out Trish's ass. Lita shows up and she wants to know whose career she'll be ending tonight. Lita responds with "yours" and plants a kiss on Trish's lips as we go to commercial.

Main Event (Women's Title) - Trish Stratus (C) vs. Lita:

Guess I was wrong about Trish's nose as she is making her way down to the ring with her face mask on.

They lock up and they end up falling out of the ring. Trish quickly gets back in followed by LIta. Trish goes downstairs on Lita with right hands. Lita tries to send Trish into a corner, but Trish counters and puts Lita into a corner instead. Trish whips Lita, but Lita kicks her in the face. Trish does the Matrix move, but Lita kicks her feet out. Lita goes for a pin, but Trish kicks out. Trish tries to regain control, but Lita ends up dumping her out of the ring.

Lita hits a suicide dive, but Lita lands awkwardly on her head (she hit the mat with the top of her head and then flipped over) and I hope she's okay. Lita gets back into the ring, and Trish takes off her face guard. She hits Lita in the face with it, but the ref didn't catch it. Lita tries to get up, but Trish tosses her back down. Trish mounts Lita and punches her, and I seriously hope Lita didn't fuck up her neck again. Trish goes up and pulls Lita up into a hangman's choke. Lita fights back and puts Trish into a sleeper, but Trish gets out of it and regains control. Trish snapmares Lita and puts her into a full nelson sleeper hold.

Lita is back in control as she goes up top to deliver a superplex to Trish Stratus. Lita could actually win the title as both women are down. Lita rolls over into a cover, but Trish kicks out. Lita tries for a clothesline, but misses and this allows Trish to hit the Chick Kick. Lita is able to kick out of the pin and Trish puts Lita into a corner and goes up for the 10 punches. Lita counters this with a powerbomb and she goes up top. Trish recovers and gets her into an electric chair, but Lita counters it into a sunset flip and I can not keep up with this match. This women's match is very fast-paced and exciting, and I see that Lita hits a Twist of Fate followed by a moonsault to FINALLY pin the Women's Champion and she is able to win the WWE Women's Championship. Let me tell you folks, this has been one of the best women's matches I've seen in a long time and I guess I can actually say that Lita really deserved the title, even though I had my doubts when she first returned. She is still inconsistent with her ring work, but it has improved compared to that of a few months ago. I'm glad she finally overcame the odds and won the title.

Winner and NEW WWE Women's Champion: Lita

END OF SHOW

See ya next week!
