WWE Press Release: WWE Crowns `$1,000,000 Tough Enough' Champion

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 17, 2004--The fans of World Wrestling Entertainment(R) have spoken, and Daniel Puder, of Sunnyvale, Calif., was named the winner of the "$1,000,000 Tough Enough(R)" competition last night on UPN's WWE(R) SMACKDOWN!(TM)

In the emotional culmination of the intense competition Puder, a former mixed martial arts and cage fighter, has been awarded a WWE contract worth $1,000,000. In the final round of voting, Puder defeated Mike "The Miz" Mizanin, a former star of MTV's "Real World: Return to New York." Daniel Puder's elation was as evident as Mike Mizanin's disappointment. Putting the icing on the cake, Puder was informed he would be competing in the Royal Rumble(R) Match at the Royal Rumble in Fresno, California. The winner of the match is awarded a championship shot at WrestleMania(R)- a prize most wrestlers can only dream of.

Daniel Puder effortlessly dominated virtually every competition during the eight-week competition that began in October when eight finalists were selected from the thousands of hopefuls that applied hoping they were Tough Enough. Each week on WWE SMACKDOWN!, Tough Enough Trainer Al Snow(R) led the Tough Enough competitors through a ritual of training and challenges. The competitors were assigned various tasks including a WWE style "Capture the Flag" competition, a paddle match on pedestals, an arm wrestling match, and a sex test. As part of the competition, the contestants interacted in the ring with WWE Superstars that included Kurt Angle(R), The Basham Brothers(TM), Torrie Wilson(TM) and Big Show(R).

Fans voted each week, exclusively on WWE.com, for their favorite contestant, until the field was narrowed down to only Mizanin and Puder. Their final task was a special "Dixie Dog Fight" at Sunday's Armageddon(R) pay-per-view, where Puder beat Mizanin in a close and competitive match.

Previous Tough Enough winners Maven(TM) and Miss Jackie(TM) are featured Superstars on WWE programming. WWE SMACKDOWN! airs Thursdays (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on UPN.
