WWE RAW Report
Aired LIVE! From Cincinnati, OH
February 14, 2005
Reported by: The Worm, rajah.com RAW reporter
Happy Valentine's Day, everybody. I hope you got your sweetheart something nice to show your love and affection for him or her. RAW is back in the US tonight as the show is airing live from Cincinnati, Ohio. Tonight, we will see Batista go one and one with Edge, and I'm hoping it will be a good show. Just be sure to refresh this every few minutes to get the latest updates.
JR and the King go through the main events for tonight, and in addition to Batista v. Edge, we will also see Randy Orton taking on Captain Charisma himself, and afterwards Jericho's music hits. It's time for the Highlight Reel!
Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel:
Welcome to RAW is Jericho! This is the Highlight Reel and tonight's guest has been a media darling ever since she appeared in a controversial commercial at the Super Bowl. It's none other than WWE diva Candace Michelle. She makes her way out all dressed in black and I wish I could have seen the commercial in question.
It's always nice to have a sweet little tomato on the Highlight Reel. Jericho mentions that Candace ended up being on Howard Stern, Entertainment Tonight, and some other shows all because of the commercial for GoDaddy.com Luckily for me, Jericho airs the commercial on the Jeritron 5000. It features Candace explaining GoDaddy.com before a committee when a strap on her top breaks.
Candace repeats the commercial by removing the straps and exposing her bare shoulders. Jericho proceeds to mock the FCC before he is interrupted by Hassan and Daivari.
This is an example of typical American hypocrisy. A woman disgraces herself on national TV and she is praised for it and two weeks ago he defeated Sgt. Slaughter and he received absolutely no accolades for it. It doesn't surprise him though because that's what you call the dumbing down of America. You, Chris Jericho, are the poster child of stupidity so he suggests he put an end to this disgusting display of female exploitation before he comes down to the ring and embarasses him just like he did the last time he was on the Highlight Reel.
You say Jericho's a poster child of stupidity, but Hassan and Daivari are the poster child of jackasses. They have a lot in common. They're Arab-Americans and Jericho is the Ayatollah of Rock and Rollah! Seriously, they may be angry all the time, but they're still young and red-blooded men, right? They still have penises, right? Daivari might not have one, but then he gets on the mic and says something unintelligible and Jericho takes it as a Daivari attempt to get into his pants.
Jericho then proceeds to insinuate that the two Arab-Americans are gay by saying that Daivari is Hassan's special little Valentine. Hassan interrupts by saying that everything is a joke to Jericho and threatens to come down to the ring. Jericho makes a better deal by wanting to take the two assclowns downtown to Chinatown. The two men head down the ramp, but Daivari is trying to keep Hassan from entering the ring as we go to commercial.

Match #1:
Chris Jericho vs. Muhammad Hassan (w/ Daivari)
Type: 1v1
Referee: Mike Chioda
This match is joined already in progress and Jericho is beating the crap out of Hassan right now as he hits a vertical suplex and then tries to pin him with a somewhat cocky edge (To the fans of the Smackdown games, it's known as a Cocky Pin). Hassan goes for a sunset flip, but Jericho counters it into a Walls attempt. Hassan gets to the ropes, but Jericho flies back with a flying shoulder block to knock Hassan off the apron. Back in the ring, Jericho lands a flying cross body, but Hassan kicks out of the pin. Jericho goes to bounce off the ropes, but Daivari trips him and Jericho stomps on his hand.
Hassan mounts some offense with a back suplex followed by some knees to the back. He takes Jericho down with a reverse elbow and then sends him hard into a corner. He chokes Jericho with his boot and with the ref distracted, Daivari gets in a cheap shot of his own. Hassan capitalizes with a vertical suplex and then goes for a pin, but Y2J kicks out.
Hassan now has Jericho in a headlock and Y2J is slowly getting up to his feet. He begins to fight out of it with chops, but Hassan comes back with a boot to the gut as Y2J goes to bounce off the ropes. However, Y2J nails a flying heel kick and both men are down. They get back to their feet and the two begin to exchange blows. Hassan counters a whip and Jericho nails a flying forearm and a shoulder block. Jericho sends Hassan down into the middle rope and he hits a running knee. Jericho goes for the Walls again, but Hassan powers out and Jericho hits a bulldog instead. Jericho goes for a Lionsault, but lands on his feet. Jericho follows it up with a 180 neckbreaker, but there's no ref to count the pin as Daivari has him distracted. Jericho hits Daivari with a springboard dropkick, which in turn allows Hassan to hit a Complete Shot and win the match.
Winner: Muhammad Hassan
Backstage Action:
Flair is backstage with Triple H and we learn that there's going to be a fight tonight as JBL is supposedly on his way to RAW to confront Batista and when JBL arrives, Triple H will be there to deal with the situation.
- Commercial Break -
Another WWE Hall of Fame vignette is shown and we learn that the latest inductee is none other than "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.
Backstage Action:
Orton shares his excitement with Stacy Keibler over the WWE Hall of Fame. Stacy asks Orton out on a date and he says that after he destroys Christian tonight, it's on.
We then see Maria with Batista when Ric Flair shows up. Flair tells him that JBL is on his way to confront him. Batista doesn't sound too worried about it and I'm guessing that tonight we will learn where Batista will be heading. Batista tells Flair that he'll deal with JBL himself and then we go to commercial.

Match #2:
Shelton Benjamin vs. Gene Snitsky
Type: Intercontinental Championship
Referee: Earl Hebner
Shelton goes after Snitsky right off the bat with punches, but then Snitsky kicks him in the gut. Shelton reverses a hold and connects with a boot to the gut. Shelton hits a Stinger splash, but the second one misses. Snitsky mounts some offense of his own after putting Shelton in the corner and splashing him. He slams Shelton down to the canvas and tries to pin him, but Shelton kicks out.
Snitsky goes up top to deliver an elbow drop, but he misses as Shelton moves out of the way. He works Snitsky over with punches , but Snitsky hits a knee to the gut and he whips Shelton into an opposing corner, but Shelton is able to kick out and follow it up with a flying clothesline. Shelton goes for a pin, but to no avail. Snitsky body slams Shelton and then follows it up with a pin cover, but Shelton is once again able to kick out. Snitsky clotheslines Shelton and then goes for another cover, but he is unsuccessful. Snitsky tries to slam Shelton again, but Shelton wiggles out only to be met with a big boot to the face. Shelton continues to kick out of pin attempts, and Snitsky is getting frustrated. He continues to argue with the ref and when he goes after Shelton, Shelton dumps him out to the outside. Snitsky grabs a chair and nails Shelton in the head with to get himself disqualified.
Winner by disqualification: Shelton Benjamin

Match #3:
William Regal & Tajiri (C) vs. La Resistance
Type: World Tag Team Championship
Referee: Jack Doan
It's Regal and Conway starting things off and Conway is in control of Regal as he takes him down with an arm whip. He tags in Grenier and Grenier locks in a headlock before Regal counters out and tags in Tajiri. Tajiri works him over with kicks and then takes down Grenier with a flying heel kick. Tajiri connects with a moonsault splash and then goes for the cover, but Grenier kicks out.
Tajiri is whipped into a corner, and Grenier charges. Tajiri leaps over Grenier and tries to lock in the Tarantula, but Grenier counters out. However, Tajiri hits a bulldog. La Resistance manage to gain the upper hand again as Tajiri is double teamed behind the ref's back. They continue to exchange tags as they single out Tajiri. Conway has Tajiri in an unique neck submission hold and Tajiri tries to fight back, but Conway kicks him in the gut. Tajiri is whipped, and he is able to connect with a springboard elbow. Regal is tagged in and he cleans house, but it isn't long before Conway comes back.
However, Regal quickly regains the upper hand and he is able to defeat La Resistance to retain their titles.
Winner: William Regal and Tajiri
The camera goes out to the parking lot in attempt to see if JBL has arrived yet and he hasn't. Up next will be Randy Orton vs. Christian.

Match #4:
Randy Orton vs. Christian (w/ Tyson Tomko)
Type: 1v1
Referee: ???
I'm not sure of the ref's name, so if someone could fill me in, it'd be appreciated. Also, if I get any ref's names wrong, let me know and I'll correct them.
Orton takes it to Christian off the bat and then he whips Christian, but Christian kicks him in the chest. Orton knocks him down and he continues to have the upper hand. Christian tries to whip his way out of a headlock, but Orton drops down to his knees. Christian is able to whip him, but he misses several attempts to take him out and Orton is able to take Christian down again. Orton pins Christian, but to no avail.
Christian backs Orton into a corner, and instead of a clean break, Christian punches him. Christian now has control of this match as he chokes Orton in a corner. Christian continues to choke him in the other corners, and then he backs off. This allows Orton to recover and regain some momentum. He takes Christian to the outside and he runs off while Orton and Tomko argue. Christian tries to run around the ring and ambush Orton, but Orton turns around and clocks him before he can do so.
In the ring, Orton sets up Christian in a corner and hits the 10 punches and follows it up with a clothesline. Orton goes for the cover, but Christian kicks out. Christian is able to regain some control as he dumps Orton to the outside after Orton charges after him. With the ref distracted, Tomko sends Orton into the steel stairs. Orton is dazed as the ref checks on him and we have to go to commercial.
- Commercial Break -
We're back and Christian is going for a pin on Orton. Orton kicks out, so Christian puts a headlock on Orton. We learn that Tomko has been ejected from ringside. Orton tries to fight out of the headlock, but Christian clubs his back and whips Orton into the corner. Orton counters out with a sunset flip, but it doesn't help him. Christian quickly regains the offensive as he takes Orton to school. Christian goes for a pin, and you can see a visible lump on the side of his head. Orton is able to kick out and Christian now has him in a headlock. Orton fights out and whips Christian. Christian reverses. Christian dodges an RKO attempt into a reverse neckbreaker. Christian pins Orton, but Orton kicks out. Christian stands on Orton's head and then smacks his head around. Christian picks up Orton, Orton reverses and sends him sternum first into the turnbuckle.
Both men are down and Christian looks to be in shock. Both men are up and the two men begin to exchange blows. Both men are staggering, but Christian ends up running into a dropkick followed by a clothesline. Orton hits a back drop and then he stretches out Christian to club him in the chest about 20 times.
Orton tries to slam Christian, but Christian floats over. Christian tries for a move of his own, but Orton counters out of it. Christian is met with a powerslam and then Orton goes up to the top turnbuckle. He hits a high flying cross body, but Christian kicks out of the pin attempt. Christian sends Orton into the ring post and then goes for a pin, but Orton kicks out and Christian is pissed.
Christian tries to untie a turnbuckle pad, and with the ref distracted, Tomko sneaks into the ring and connects with a big boot. Christian goes for a pin, but Orton miraculously kicks out. Christian picks up Orton, who hits an uppercut, but Christian hits a thumb to the eye. Christian tries for the Unprettier, but Orton counters out of it. The end comes when Orton goes for an RKO, but Christian turns it into the Unprettier, but Orton is too smart for that and leapfrogs out of it. Christian turns around and Orton connects with the RKO to end this awesome match (I think it'd be too much to call it a match of the year contender, but this match goes to show that Orton and Christian can have a good match together).
Winner: Randy Orton
Backstage Action:
Bischoff is talking to Teddy Long on the phone about JBL coming over to RAW and Bischoff would love to see Batista beat the hell out of JBL tonight and then hangs up on him. We see that Edge has entered the room and surprise, surprise, big shock...Batista is being talked about again. Batista cost him the title and instead of punishing him, Batista is being praised. Edge says that if Batista faces JBL at WM21, then Triple H will need an opponent. Edge says that he is the only one who deserves the title (and he's right) and then we go to commercial.
- Commercial Break -
Trish Stratus makes her way out to the ring with her title in hand and like the King said, I don't think she has ever looked better than she does right now. The only way she could look better is if she was naked, but I doubt we'll be seeing that any time soon. :-(
Trish feels that the other divas are trying to steal her spotlight and nobody is going to steal her spotlight and she doesn't care if you're Britney Spears, it's just not going to happen. While she's out, she's gotta something to discuss with Christy Hemme. Christy eventually comes out, bubbly as ever.
Trish loves that shaky dance she does and then mocks her for it. Trish would like to thank her because there was a time when people would chant "slut" at her and thanks to Christy the word no longer applies to Trish. This is because Christy has agreed to pose in Playboy (yes!!!). Due to that, the only slut around here is Christy.
Christy takes the stick and she is so proud to be posing for Playboy. She is so proud that people might wanna see it. But Trish, you have things mixed up. Posing in Playboy doesn't make you a slut, sleeping with half the locker room does. Christy gets smacked by the Women's Champion and that's it for this segment.
- Commercial Break -
Another spoof commercial is aired for WM21 featuring Stacy Keibler, Chris Benoit, Christian, and Chris Jericho. (Not sure which movie it spoofs). Another funny commercial, especially when Mae Young and Moolah come in near the end and Mae spreads her legs (much to the dismay of the men).
Match #5:
Simon Dean vs. Kane
Type: 1v1
Referee: ???
Simon Dean takes the stick and he's not going to lie. He's scared to death right now, but he feels everyone would be upset if Kane ended his career tonight. However, he knows that somehow he'll be able to sell his Simon System because he believes in everyone. During his speech, Kane sneaks up behind him and prepares to chokeslam him over the security barrier, but Kane lets go and causes Simon to slip off the barrier.
They get back in the ring and the match is officially underway. Simon tries to use the ref as a shield, but it doesn't help. With the ref distracted, Simon hits Kane with his duffel bag and then dropkicks him in the knee. Simon takes some powder out of the bag, but Kane kicks him to knock him down, causing the powder to fly into his face.
Kane picks up the weight belt and while the ref wasn't looking, he uses it on the back of Simon's leg. Simon rolls out of the ring and eventually Kane throws him back in. He signals for a chokeslam, but instead mocks Simon Dean by doing some push-ups. As Simon stares into the face of death, Kane goozles him, lifts him up and then chokeslams him to end this squash.
Winner: Kane
We hear some commentary from the announcers and then we see a clip from 2 weeks ago of a video airing during an Evolution segment where JBL says that Batista has an open invitation and then basically disses him.
We take a peek outside and JBL still has not arrived.

The WWE Rewind recaps Kurt Angle going after HBK at the Royal Rumble a couple weeks ago.
Backstage Action:
Earlier tonight, we see HBK getting something to drink when the Coach comes up with a Japanese magazine in hand and he says that Angle was bragging about what he did to HBK at the Royal Rumble. HBK was aware of it and if he were Kurt Angle, he would be focusing on No Way Out and he has a chance to put himself in a position to become WWE Champion. HBK then leaves and we go to Batista, who is suiting up for his match. Triple H talks to Batista about making his decision next week and about JBL showing up tonight.
Up next will be Batista vs. Edge.
- Commercial Break -
The unveiling of the "Masterpiece" Chris Masters will happen next week, as well as Batista's contract signing.
Main Event:
Batista (w/ Triple H) vs. Edge

They lock up and Batista shoves Edge down. Batista poses to taunt Edge and then they go to lock up again. Edge locks in a headlock and Batista powers Edge over to the ropes. Edge shoves Batista and then hits a couple of forearms. Batista grabs Edge and puts him in a corner. Batista rams his shoulders into Edge's midsection.
Batista puts Edge into another corner and then chokes him. Edge is whipped to the opposite end and then he ducks out of the way as Batista charges after him. Batista ends up sending Edge to the outside and he tries to slam him, but Edge counters it with the Edgeomatic.
Edge gets in to break the count and then goes to work on Batista some more. Back in the ring, Edge chokes Batista using the ropes and then goes to work him over with some punches. Edge connects with a neckbreaker and attempts a pin cover, but Batista kicks out. Edge puts Batista in a key lock and as Batista gets up, Edge clubs on his back to send Batista stumbling into a corner. Edge mounts Batista, but Batista swats him off. Edge is whipped, and Batista catches him and delivers a front power slam. Edge is shoved into a corner and he kicks Batista in the head. Edge goes to the second rope and comes off with a double ax handle, but Batista hits a shoulder in the gut..
Edge manages to counter a Batista spinebuster into a DDT and Edge is signaling for the Spear. Edge charges, but he is caught with a spinebuster. Batista sets him up for a Batista Bomb and it connects. The match ends with a DQ as Triple H shoves the ref down after a video of JBL arriving at the arena plays on the Tron. Flair comes out to signal them to come up and they head backstage.
Winner by disqualification: Edge
Evolution set out to deal with JBL and just listening to Triple H makes it sound very cheesy. Batista tells Triple H to stay out of it since he wants to deal with it himself. He heads outside looking for JBL and Batista is almost run over by the longhorn limo of JBL, but he is saved by Triple H. The limo takes off and it looks like Batista will be heading off to Smackdown this Thursday.
