Vince McMahon is very keen on giving John Cena the push of his life in 2005. Cena is expected to release his debut music CD around May this year. The planned release date was January 2005, however executives pushed the date back until May. Apparently there were also problems with some of the tracks too, which delayed the release.
Vince McMahon put Kevin Dunn in charge of the project, which indicates it's a top priority for him. Cena has written over 75 songs, and has picked his 17 personal favourites for the CD.
WWE is also pushing hard for Cena to get the lead male role in the next movie in the "Predator" series. It's neither a sequel nor a prequel, but another story entirely. The aim is to portray Cena as a hot Hollywood property headed into WrestleMania at this point, but without the CD or any media buzz about movie opportunities, they can't do that. It's frustrating because they believe portraying Cena as a crossover star is vital to him being seen by WWE fans as a top tier player. There is expected to be a lot of publicity for Cena's CD release after WrestleMania.
