Given that Matt Hardy was only driving distance away from last night's RAW venue, it was originally thought that he would appear backstage, however he did not per WWE's request. Management felt it would be better for Hardy not to appear given recent events and not to mention that both Lita and Edge would have been backstage as they were booked for TV appearances.
Speaking of Lita and Edge, both were a part of meetings to discuss the situation and how to avoid controversy which would ultimately affect the work place. Management felt it crucial to clear the air given that WrestleMania 21 is a matter of weeks away and they would prefer a smooth ride up to then.
While the Hardy-Lita-Edge saga wasn't discussed much over the weekend house shows, it was on the lips of everyone yesterday with SmackDown! talent calling talent from RAW to try and find out what was going on with the whole situation.
Many backstage feel sympathy toward Matt Hardy who is a likeable and popular individual in the locker room. That being said, neither Edge or Lita were shunned yesterday but both were said to be tense as a certain awkwardness followed them wherever they went backstage.
