Here is a recap of Sean Waltman on Between the Ropes:

This week on Between the Ropes, Sean Waltman from Total Nonstop Action Wrestling joined Fritz, Dickerman, and Vito DeNucci to talk about his work in TNA, his wrestling career, his non-wrestling ventures, and other issues; and he was accompanied by Kevin Nash who added some comments in the background.

The interview started off with discussion about his health. He said that he was not expecting to wrestle at last night’s tapings and that he suffered a concussion. He said that he was in the ring with guys who were really excited and he got dumped on the top of his head. He said that his neck is hurting. People suggested that he go to the hospital, but he knew what the doctors would tell him already. He was disgusted with the whole thing. Sean did not think that he needed to be in the ring with those opponents. He wants to continue to get in the ring and he wants to be in the ring when it is a high stakes match like a pay per view and go all out. He said that he is not into doing a match for Impact.

Sean was asked about the fact that he did not appear on the episodes of Impact between the pay per views. He said that it felt strange to him. He said that came back to have fun with his friends.

Sean was asked about the reaction that he got from the crowds in Orlando. He talked about the things he had been involved with the last few years and how he walked away from the wrestling business. Sean was worried about how the crowd would react to his appearance at Against All Odds, and he was glad that the crowd popped for him and that the pop was sustained. He says that it was the greatest thing in the world. He was bummed out that he was not on television for the weeks after the pay per view.

Sean said that he has no idea what TNA has planned for him because it is someone else’s job. He said that the people at TNA don’t seem to want input from anyone else. He said that when he worked for the WWE, Vince wanted input from the wrestlers. He also said that regardless of how screwed up WCW was, they wanted input from him.

Sean wondered what was behind the Monty Brown versus Trytan match at Destination X. Sean said that TNA has world class talent, with people who know how to draw money as well as people who are hungry and who do things that nobody else can do in the ring.

Sean was asked about the schedule with TNA. He said that he would not mind working more than what he is doing with TNA, as long as the work is worthwhile.

Sean was asked about people that he wants to face in the ring. He would like to face Monty Brown. He wants to know why Monty turned on Page at Destination X. He put over Monty’s desire to go become a professional wrestler to prove that he could make it in the business. Sean said that he wants to team with Kevin Nash and take the tag titles from America’s Most Wanted.

Sean was asked if he wants to get in the ring with any of the X Division wrestlers and he said that would not want to get in the ring with them now. He mentions how people consider him an innovator of some of the moves we see done by the X Division wrestlers back in the day. He said that his moves were suicidal looking, but he never did anything that could match what A.J. Styles is doing today. He said that he can do one-third of what the other guys are doing, but he is connecting with the people. He said that he knows what he is doing and when to do it.

Sean said that when they wrestle in the cage at Lockdown, he promises that it will be intense and it will be psychologically sound. You will not look at it and call it a cluster. It will look like a main event match and everyone will shine.

Sean was asked about dealing with his personal problems in the public eye. He said that as long as they are portrayed accurately, he has no problem with them. He brought up the Surreal Life incident and he said that what really happened was different from what aired on television. He said that they were coming down on Joanie and he was not going to let that happen. He told them to back off, and she took it personal. Sean said that he was portrayed as someone who was mentally abusive to her, but that was not true. Sean mentioned that he explained what happened on his website. He said that he still loves her and will not badmouth her.
