City/Province: Victoria, BC
Start Time: 3:00
Reporter: Mr. S, rajah.com reader
Yo and salut, this is Mr. S and of no relation to Tim Schaab, heh heh. Yes I will cover what happened with the fan and HHH to the best I can later on in this report. A lively crowd today filled up this brand new arena which wasn’t totally finished yet, but who cares, lets get onto the show!
Candice Michelle makes her way to the ring to be special guest ring announcer. Yum.
1st match:
Viscera vs. Tyson Tomko
Tomko kicks off the return to Victoria. WWE has not been here for about 8 years! Well they won’t want to come back after all the altercations tonight. Anyways Viscera walks up being all huge and pimpin’. Tomko couldn’t work in his offense all match as Viscera was just too large. Viscera eventually catches Tomko with a powerful sitdown slam and that’s an easy 3 count. I’d say this match was done to 48% of perfect; these two guys aren’t that great. But wait, we are not done, Viscera calls Candice into the ring for some dancing and frenching, kissing that is.
2nd Match:
Tajiri vs. "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters
It is time for the Masterpiece, followed by the lil’ asian Tajiri who had lots of people (including some guy named Marvin) on his side the whole match. Anyways to the action, good contest by both of these men. Tajiri had his kicks, Masters used his strength well but Tajiri came up a bit short as Masters was able to lock in the Masterlock to a lot of heat. This was about 66% to perfection.
3rd Match:
3-WAY FOR THE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The Hurricane & Rosey vs. The Heart Throbs vs. Simon Dean & Maven
Here comes the most entertaining tag team in the WWE! YAY! Ok for crying out loud I am not gay, I just find them entertaining. Chaaa here comes Team Simon System, but stand back! Next up it’s a hurricane coming through. This match went a good amount of time and there were some good spots with Hurricane flying onto the Heart Throbs and Team Simon System all at the same time. Eventually Hurricane gets Rosey’s help with the Eye of the Hurricane and takes the win. Hmm, 69% to perfection.
Justin Roberts was the announcer tonight, he’s good at it to. However, right as he is announcing the next match, he is interrupted by none other then… THE ROCK! THE ROCK IS IN VICTORIA FOR 1 NIGHT ONLY! No wait it’s the Rock wanna-be, the Coach. Coach says he is now special guest announcer and ref for this next match. He introduces:
4th Match:
Christy Hemme vs. Victoria
Hemme and Victoria receive nice pops each. Eventually Coach decides he likes Victoria more and sides with her for the rest of the match. Christy doesn’t like that so she low blows the Coach, out comes another ref, Christy rolls up Vic, and Victoria is pinned in Victoria (I just had to say that). Divas matches aren’t usually that great, but Victoria is a pro so 58% perfection is good enough.
5th Match:
Chris Benoit vs. Gene Snitsky
E-C-DUB! E-C-DUB! Benoit vs Snitsky was an awesome contest where foreign objects were used all over. The end came where Snitsky goes for a clothesline, Benoit ducks under and suplexes Snitsky right through a garbage can! Major pop! Benoit decides to take a risk and go for a diving headbutt which he connects with. 1,2,3 and its all over. Nice to see an ECW match for a change, I’d say 76% perfect.
6th Match:
INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Shelton Benjamin vs. Christian
Both these wrestlers come out to respectable pops. About 2 or so minutes into the match, a section in the crowd breaks out the Christian chants which really catch on. Sooner then later Benjamin is getting boo’d. Shelty don’t like this one bit but when he tries to leave, Tyson says he isn’t going anywhere and this match would continue. While Shelton was on the outside at one point, someone chucked what I think was a glass of beer at him and that person was ejected. Why people… why pay $60 to get thrown out before the main events? Bah anyways, I loved this match and Christian turned face for Victoria and didn’t play it cheap. End came where Shelton grabs the tights and uses the ropes to grab a cheap 3 count. Like I said, good match so 79% perfect. Best of the night so far.
INTERMISSION. Hmm I think I’m going to go get some popcorn.
7th Match:
Kane vs. Edge w/ Lita
MMM.. good ‘corn! Woah its Edge and Lita! Receiving some heat and minor “You screwed Matt” chants. Kane explodes out of the curtain and receives a healthy pop. A little while later Kane smashes Edge right into the ref and havoc would break loose. Kane grabs a chair but Lita prevents anything from happening. Kane decides he can take Edge, even without a chair, but WAM a “Money in the Bank” briefcase to the head! Kane is out and the ref wakes up to count 3! Decent match so I’ll give it a 73% perfection rate.
Lady’s and Gents, time to introduce a legend. Rooowdy, Roooooddy, Piper! *Crowd Exlpodes* Piper comes out, says something things about being Canadian, loving hockey and watching po… *Cue Hassan’s Music* Dam it you arabs! Kidding, Hassan already said he had nothing to do with 9/11 so why hate him? This all leads to…
8th Match:
Chris Jericho w/ Roddy Roddy Piper vs. Muhammad Hassan w/ Daivari
Jericho and Hassan put on a show with Y2J receiving an outstanding pop during his entrance. At the start of the match, Piper takes Daivari backstage and beats the hell out of them leaving only Jericho and Hassan to fight. At the end, Jericho is in control when Daivari runs some interference, and Hassan drives Jericho to the ground. One… Two… Th… Kickout! And here comes Piper! Piper distracts Hassan now and Y2J gets the Walls of Jericho in! Hassan taps out! Another good match, so I’ll give it 78% perfection.
9th Match:
HANDICAP MATCH
Batista vs. Triple H & Ric Flair
Flair comes out to Woo’s, HHH comes out to boo’s… and cheers. Huge reaction for all 3 superstars in this match, and Batista really got the crowd into it. Standard match with; Flair flops, belly drops, clotheslines, funny signs! Okay I get it! I’m not a poet… and I didn’t even know it. Ending comes with Flair getting caught in a spinebuster and is easily pinned as Batista celebrates a defeat of 2 great wrestlers. Main event should be the best, but in this case, there are some other great performers that deserve to be here more then HHH. So 75% perfect for the main event. I will get into the situation with a fan in just a bit.
End Notes:
Overall a good show and I hope Victoria receives a televised event with a great crowd turn out. I just wish the fans wouldn’t all be jackasses. Here’s the pops and heat breakdown.
BIGGEST POP
1 – Rowdy Roddy Piper
2 – Benoit
3 – Batista
BIGGEST HEAT
1 – Masters
2 – Tomko
3 – Benjamin
The Triple H, Mike Chioda (Referee), and fan altercation as I saw it:
I was leaving the arena when all of a sudden I saw an east indian fellow (that was called “Pinder” by his friends) hop over the guard rail. It appeared as he was dancing in the ring kind of like the Dupree French Tickler. Mike Chioda doesn’t like this and gives a forearm to the back of Pinder knocking him down hard! HHH just lost his match, and isn’t in a good mood so he throws some shots at Pinder. Security takes Pinder out of the ring and I lost sight after this due to me being on the floor in about the last row. Later on, while making my way to my vehicle, I saw pinder escorted out of the arena by 2 Police Officers heading towards the police station which was conveniently located right beside the arena. I couldn’t make out any obvious injuries but he didn’t look happy at all. Throughout the night objects were thrown towards the wrestlers and in the ring with people being kicked out left and right. A very disrespectful crowd I must say. I’m not from Victoria anyways so screw them. That’s just how I saw it, Mr. S.
