By: Steven Yuill - "Jimmyboco", rajah.com reader
Hi there to all @ Rajah, i have been a reader of ur site for about 4 years now (since the http://www.rajahwwf.com days) maybe longer.
This is the first time i have wrote a report on a live event as it is only my 2nd event ever (went to Wrestlemania Revenge @ Edinburgh) so it may not be very good but here goes
Show started off @ about 7.30pm with none other than Smackdown GM Teddy Long running down the card for the event. This raised a few eyebrows and some fans were shocked at the atches that were announced but we I will comment on that at the end of the report.
Big "Austin" chants when Teddy announced him as the special guest enforcer for the main event.
Match 1 - Rey Mysterio Jr & Paul London vs Eddie & Chavo Guerrero
Rey comes out first to a good pop except from a few "stoopid" fans sitting in my area who seemed intent on chanting the opposite to what the rest of the crowd were chanting (i'll comment on this at the end as well). Next out is London who comes to the ring with a whole head of steam, hitting 2 corners and performing a backflip from the second turnbuckle.
Next came Eddie's music and both Eddie and Chavo walked down the aisle. Loud "Eddie Sucks" chants while the Guerrero's stood in the aisle, sizing their opponents up.
After what seemed like an eternity, they entered the ring. Really slow build to this match as it took about 5 minutes before they even locked up. A few Rey - Eddie tease confrontations always ended in Eddie tagging in Chavo.
Really slow match, the complete opposite from what i was expecting. Lots of cheating from the Guerrero's and a few double team moves. High spots in this match were a attempted backdrop by Chavo on Rey that turned out to be Rey jumping on Chavo's back and springboard dropkicking Eddie, a Double 619 and then a Double of the top rope finisher with London doing the 450 splash and Rey also doing a splash for a double pin finish!!!
Winners - Rey Mysterio Jr & Paul London
Analysis - Much, much slower than expected, not a lot of high flying, no frog splash or 3 amigos, match seemed dead at times, slightly disappointed although i must say Rey rules and London is pretty good too.
Match 2 - Matt Morgan vs Mark Jindrak
Morgan comes out first to some decent heat followed by Jindrak with a small pop. Morgan grabs the mic and starts gabbering on and stuttering away (which got a few "What" chants from the crowd), gets a good reaction from the crowd by saying that we were English (anybody would've got the same reaction) then Jindrak snatches the mic and gets a larger pop than before by stating that we were Scottish.
Match starts with Morgan overpowering Jindrak and taking the early advantage but Jindrak soon changes the tide. Some offence by Jindrak is eventually countered by Morgan who wins the match with the F5 in this squash match.
Winner - Matt Morgan
Analysis - Didn't expect too much from this match, Morgan is huge compared to what he lloks like on T.V, Jindrak is also pretty big, can only see Morgan being built as feed for someone (Batista maybe???) in a later fued for the title
Match 3 - Billy Kidman vs Funaki
Kidman out first to minimal heat followed by Funaki with a decent pop (the kids were screaming for him). Again, this being nothing but a lower mid card slot filler, i wasn't too interested in this match.
Funaki was really trying to get the crowd behind him, not to much avail. Kidman won with a powerbomb i think
Winner - Billy Kidman
Analysis - What happened to Billy Kidman, he was promising talent that has been left to rot because Vinny Mac doesn't care about the Cruiserweights enough, Funaki will always be in the same position he is in with the company, a jobber to anybody that wins the occasional match. This match was pretty bad with a few botched spots.
Match 4 - Carlito (with Matt Morgan) vs The Big Show
Out comes Carlito with Morgan to a mixed reaction. Next up is Show and my word, he is friggin HUGE!!! Steps over the top rope and raises his hand to the biggest pop of the night so far. Bell rings and show easily overpowers Carlito. Into the corner for the customary chest slap and OUCH that sounds worse Live that it does on T.V More show dominence until Morgan pulls down the top rope and Show goes tumbling to the outside. Carlito uses his brain and decides to work on shows legs and making quick covers. Show just throws Carlito off after a 1 count. Carlito continues to work shows knee until Show regains the momentum. Big slam by Show (he held Carlito for about 30 seconds). Show had Carlito in the corner and was crushing him a la Andre The Giant. He done this three times but before the third he done a Rick Rude dance/ass wiggle for a funny spot which the crowd enjoyed. A few headbutts sent Carlito down the the choke was applied and here comes the chokeslam but Morgan jumps on the apron. Show throws Carlito into Morgan who falls off the apron the Carlito bounces of the ropes into a ShowStoppa!!! for the 3 count.
Winner - Big Show
Analysis - Good to see both Show and Carlito for the first time. Show is very limited in what he can do in the ring but is effective enough to convince the live crowd. Carlito played his role perfectly and is sure to shine in the WWE in the future.
Next up was Torrie Wilson who came out to the ring looking Hot as usual in a very small white skirt. She threw some T-Shirts to the crowd and left with the usual-look up my skirt exit to the ring. Teddy Long was in the aisle (i never saw this) and he was introducing the newest Smackdown Diva from Fox News (i think), didn't catch her name. It was intermission time.
Match 5 - WWE Tag Team Championship Match - MNM vs Hardcore Holly & Booker T
Out first were MNM and again, this was my first viewing of Mercury, Nitro and Melina and WOW how hot is Melina, she was wearing a skirt so short that you could see her ass cheeks all the time. Mercury & Nitro came out in fur coats and posed for the crowd, they recieved quite a good pop at first until Hardcore Holly's music hit. Holly came down the aisle and MNM vacated the ring. Large pop for Holly was quite shocking for me who remembers his "Spark Plug" days, lol. "Can You Dig It, Sucka" and here comes Booker T and he hits the corners, gesturing to the crowd that they are going to take the titles (which we knew wasn't going to happen). Pretty good match with Holly chopping the hell outta Nitro in the Corner and getting a loud pop. Booker feeling a bit left out in the corner so he gets tagged in to a bigger pop and starts chopping away on Nitro. Holly back in again and it looks like the veterans are enjoying beating the hell outta MNM. Match goes back and forward with Holly almost (not really) picking up the win as he was about to give Mercury the Alabama Slamwhen Nitro made the save. MNM take the victory on Holly as Booker is distracted outside.
Winners - And Still WWE Tag Team Champions - MNM
Analysis - Match was good, Holly was as intense as ever, Booker was just Booker, MNM gave a good showing. Post match Holly grabs the mic and says that Booker should do a Spinaroonie for the crowd. Booker ponders as th crowd pop like hell before he finally does it to a large ovation.
Match 6 - WWE United States Championship - Orlando Jordan vs John Heidenreich
Heidy makes his way out first walking like a reject and getting a major pop?????? is everybody stupid or something, this guy sucks sooooo bad, he is like a Jim Duggan/Bushwacker/Sycho Sid mixture. He grabs a mike and asks if there is any friends in the crowd. Every kid in the audience screams and Heidy says he is gonna read a "Disasterpiece". He starts off and is promptly (thank god) interuppted by OJ. Loud "Virgil" chants from my section and an "E-C-Dub" chant from other areas. OJ is quickly on the offence on the outside and Heidy is getting pasted. Back in the ring and OJ dominates some more. Heidy pulls a small comeback with some "punch atempts" in the same ridiculous manner that he walks in. OJ gets the pin with the feet on the ropes.
Winner - ANd Still WWE United States Champion - Orlando Jordan
Analysis - Ths was the worst match on the card. Heidy sucks bigtime but the kids eat it up, OJ is terrible as well (or maybe it was just Heidy bringing him down). Post match Heidy read his "disasterpiece" and left.
The next match - when announced by Teddy Long at the start of the show - confused me as i wasn't sure if they just didn't want to change the schedule or thought we Scots don't watch Raw/Smackdown each week. Still am not sure but i'm glad they kept this match!!!!!!! Thank you WWE for this error/blessing in disguise.
The glass shatters as STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN comes down to the ring and the roof nearly blew off the arena for him. Loads of Austin chants and SCSA hits all 4 corners as usual. He is the Special Guest Enforcer in the main event of the night......
Match 7 - WWE Championship!!!! - John Cena vs Kurt Angle vs John Bradshaw Layfield
Hell Yea, never mind the draft, I was delighted that I was getting to see Angle and Cena. First out is JBL who comes to the ring sporting his Cowboy hat. He grabs the mic and demands that SCSA calls the match fair and sqaure which SCSA laughs at and nods his head. He then cuts a promo saying how its great to be back in Glasgow, a place where his ancestors have lived, and how we have struggled for 1000 years for independence and we are still Englands bitch (JBL is funny as hell, got major heat for this), next up is Kurt Angle and SCSA turns and smiles as his music hit and the crowd chant "You Suck" like mad before a "Angle" chant breaks out when he hits the ring. Last out is the Champ and he gets a pop almost equal to Austins. Comes to the ring as JBL bails and Jurt leaves the ring. Funny stuff with JBL grabbing a USA flag from someone and wiping his ass with it then throwing it to the crowd. Cena responds by doing the same with JBL's hat. Great match with the Heels working over Cena, taking it in turns to pin him for the 2 count before pulling the other off Cena. Cena clotheslines JBL over the top before giving Angle a pumphandle slam. A little "You Can't See Me" followed by a 5 knuckle shuffle. FU attempt broken by JBL, Angle holds Cena for a JBL Clothesline from hell the Angle quickly hits the Angle Slam on JBL for the 2 count. Cena with a FU attempt on Angle reversed into a Ankle Lock as the crowd went nuts for both moves. JBL breaks the hold with the clothesline from hell. Big "Austin" Chant followed by "ECW" and a "Blue Meanie" chant that never took off. JBL in the corner and Cena goes for a splash and JBL pulls Austin in front of him. Second ref runs down but Austin recovers, picks him up and Stunners Him!!!!! JBL tries the Clothesline on SCSA who duks and pokes him in the eye, Cena picks up JBL for the FU and the victory.
Winner - And Still WWE Champion - John Cena
Analysis - Post match Cena is celebrating when Angle gets the Angle Slam from behind and lays him out. Austin shakes Angles hand then promptly gives him a Stunner for a mojor pop from the crowd. Its time for a drink as SCSA gets 2 beers and toasts the four corners of the ring, drinking 8 beers in about a minute. JBl slowly wakes up and is nervous but SCSA gives him a beer to show no hard feelings, JBL accepts with a huge grin on his face, toasts and recieves a Stunner as well. He gives Cena 2 beers and sends him to the corner to toast. Another 2 beers in the centre of the ring for both then another 2 each in the opposite corners as SCSA leaves. Huge Austin chants starts followed by a nearly as huge Cena chant. Austin back with more beers and they toast again as Cena grabs the mic. (Austin beer count is 17 just now, Cena on 7). Cena call on the crowd to listen and asks Austin to come back out, calling him the baddest son bitch ever to walk in the ring. All fingers salut from the crowd as SCSA comes back with 3 more beers and it "What" time as he runs down his plan for the night which involved beer, going back to the hotel, beer, more beer, some more beer, some whiskey, vodka, gin, rum, tequila, more beer and even more beer. SCSA says that Cena can't say You Can't See Me cause he can (funny spot). Austin says if we want Cena to rap gimme a Hell Yea which of course we respond to. Large Cena Chants. Cena says he is so drunk from the beers and sits down i the middle of the ring. Austin says he can either do an Acapella of his Rap Song, Drink some more beer or have a push-up contest. Cena can't drink no more and is too drunk to rap so they go for push ups. Cena does 20 push-ups with ease and SCSA declares him the winner. Cena states he is the biggest man alive after doing 11 Million push ups. Big Pop for both Men as the show ends.
Post Show Comments
The Arena was almost full except 3 ringside seats that were empty for the first half until 2 people sitting next to me nicked them.
Crowd were ok, preferred the crowd at the RAW event in Edinburgh, not as many people out to chant the opposite and make it less enjoyable for everyone else.
Shocked at Cena and Angle being here but was more delighted than anything.
No Undertaker was a bummer, especially as he had appeared on T.V this week
Undercard wasn't that great, a few matches were just really boring, especially the US Title match
A reasonable show overall, that would've been very poor if not for Main event and Carlito/Show
Biggest Pops:
1. Austin
2. Cena
3. Show
4. Heidenreich
5. Booker/Hardcore
Most Heat:
1. JBL
2. Eddie
3. MNM
4. Morgan
5. Chavo
Hope this report is suitable. Please email me if anything is wrong or it cannot be used.

WWE Summer Bash Tour
Glasgow SECC, Scotland
June 16th 2005
Richard Ross, rajah.com reader
This was the WWE’s first show in the SECC since the Insurrextion tour in 2002. The crowd was a sell out, the SECC may claim it to be around 10,000 but this was not the usual SECC layout so I would estimate around 7,000 people there.
The show started on time that meant quite a number of people hadn’t reached their seats. We were greeted by our ring announcer for the evening, Justin Roberts, which disappointed those expecting Tony Chimel. He then introduced SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long who gave a brief rundown of the card and thanked the fans for coming along. He then brought us straight into the first contest of the evening.
Rey Mysterio & Paul London VS Eddie & Chavo Guerrero
There was an incredible amount of stalling at the beginning of this match. I guess it gave the latecomers a chance to get their seats. An ‘ECW’ chant ringed out which seemed to annoy London. When the match finally got going it was a vastly entertaining encounter. The crowd was split on Eddie. The majority of younger fans taunted him while older members of the audience loved him. The match saw a lot of fast paced action from Rey and London but the pace was slowed down considerably when Eddie and Chavo began to double team London. This featured some classic heel tactics that really upset the crowd. At one point it seemed London had made the tag to Rey but unfortunately the dastardly Guerreros had distracted the referee. Once London finally hit the tag it was time for some high-risk moves from Rey. Both Guerreros were set up on the second rope to receive a double 619 from Rey and that was followed up by Mysterio and London climbing on opposite turnbuckles and delivering a devastating aerial assault to get the three count.
Winners: Rey Mysterio and Paul London
Matt Morgan VS Mark Jindrak
Morgan came out first and cut a stuttering promo. Claimed he was in Glasgow, England. Jindrak then entered and mocked the stutter and informed Morgan he was in fact in Scotland. Quite a bit of brawling throughout this match but Jindrak did hit some impressive moves from the ropes. The match was going on fine then suddenly Morgan did the F5 and got the victory, which stunned the crowd who thought we were only about halfway through the contest.
Winner: Matt Morgan
Billy Kidman VS Funaki
Kidman received a lot of boos and negative chants throughout this bout. He had good interplay with the crowd taking his time to argue with those who thought he sucked. A brief ‘Torrie Wilson‘ chant broke out. Funaki tried to build up momentum with a string of moves but would find himself cheap shotted by Kidman. Kidman then set up Funaki for the Shooting Star Press but took too long and was attacked on the turnbuckle. Funaki then followed up with a tornado DDT from the turnbuckle to get the victory.
Winner: Funaki
Carlito with Matt Morgan VS The Big Show
The majority of the crowd booed Carlito.Morgan stayed on the outside. Big Show dominated this match. He hit Carlito with several devastating chops to the chest. Even the thought of it now makes me wince. His chest was so red, goodness knows what it will be like by the end of the tour. Big Show kept the match to a snails pace showing off his power with several big moves. Carlito and Morgan would get the occasional cheap shot in but Big Show was too powerful for them both. Big Show went for the chokeslam but Morgan tried to get involved so he threw Carlito across the ring to knock Morgan off the apron then followed up with a huge chokeslam to get the victory over Carlito.
Winner: Big Show
Justin Roberts introduced special guest Torrie Wilson who threw some T-shirts into the crowd. After this Teddy Long introduced JBL’s wife to the crowd and crowned her as SmackDown’s newest diva.
Intermission
WWE Tag Team Title Match
MNM VS Booker T and Hardcore Holly
No explanation on why Holly and Booker were paired together. Booker T seemed to love the whole experience. He had a huge smile on his face throughout the match. Quite a lot of offence from Holly on both Nitro and Mercury, usually in the form of hard chops in the corner. Booker and Holly exchanged several quick tags but Mercury and Nitro ended up getting the best of Booker. After being dominated for a while Booker finally got to tag in Holly. Booker went outside to stalk Melina up the entranceway while Holly attempted the Alabama Slam. Unfortunately this led to a double team attack and Holly was overpowered and pinned. Afterwards Booker apologised to Holly and went to leave the ring but Holly wouldn’t let him go till Booker did a spin-a-roonie to the delight of the fans.
Winners: MNM
US Title Match
Heidenreich VS Orlando Jordan
This was just plain bad. Heidenreich wanted to read a poem but was interrupted by OJ. He was then assaulted on the outside. Inside ring OJ claimed he wanted to be Heidenreich’s friend. Against the advice of the crowd he shook OJ’s hand and got a kick for good measured. Plenty of botched moves – OJ managed t mess up two swinging neck breakers. Spent a lot of time attacking Heidenreich’s arm – perhaps to stop his funny little march. Finish came when OJ pinned using the ropes for leverage.
Winner: Orlando Jordan
WWE Title Match
John Cena VS Kurt Angle VS JBL, Special Referee Stone Cold Steve Austin
Austin was first out to a huge ovation. JBL was next, got good hell heat and cut a promo about Scotland being England’s ‘bitch’. Angle was next but didn’t get on the mic. Cena came out t large ovation, though not as big as Austin. The majority of the match saw JBL and Angle double team Cena. They would then take turns to pin and throw each off. Best sequence of the match saw Cena attempt to FU Angle, only for Angle to escape and put Cena in the Ankle Lock, which was broken up with a Clothesline >From Hell from JBL. Later in match JBL pulled Austin into the corner to protect him from a Cena onslaught that temporarily took down the rattlesnake. JBL then called a referee from the back, Brian Hebner, who was attacked by the newly recovered Austin for nearly counting 3 on a JBL pin attempt. Bradshaw then went to hit Austin but this was countered with a Stunner and Cena followed this up with an FU for the win. After this Angle hit Cena with an Angle Slam – and got a Stunner for his troubles. JBL regrouped to have a beer with Austin – and got another Stunner!
Winner: John Cena
It was then party time for Cena and Austin. Plenty of beer was drunk and Cena held a toast for the rattlesnake. Austin then wanted Cena to rap but it seems the champ had a bit too much to drink and was all over the place. Austin challenged him to a push-up competition. After Cena performed 20 push-ups he claimed it was 11 million and that he was ‘the biggest man in the world today’. Austin and Cena then continued to drink to close the show.
Overall this was an entertaining show. The matches may have not of been of the best quality but there was plenty of fun on offer. There was no pyrotechnics at the event, which seemed odd, as there had been at the last Glasgow shows. There was also no sign of the Undertaker. Fit Finlay and Ricky Steamboat were ringside all night. The crowd seemed to be of a very young age and loved the likes of Cena and Heidenreich. The majority seemed to leave happy and all loved the appearance by Stone Cold. Cena may have been the champ but Austin was top dog tonight!
Glasgow Scotland
by scott in edinburgh, rajah.com reader
The areana was a sell out but mostly with little kids. Ring announcer justin
roberts came out to a big pop and announced theodore long who ran down the
card for the evening
Match 1: Eddie And Chavo v Rey And Paul London
All superstars had a decent pop except paul london where it was silence.
This was the longest match of the night. Paul london performed excelnt in
the match. Rey and Paul Won After rey did a double 619 to both eddie and
chavo and london did his 360 splash for them to pick up the win
Match 2: Matt Morgan v Mark Jindrak
Morgan did some stuttering before it started and said were in england which
gave him massive heat. Jindrak made fun of morgan before saying were in
scotland which got him a huge pop. Morgan won the match with his finisher
(cant remember its name)
Match 3: Billy Kidman v Funaki
Pretty normal match. A Few boaring chants but there was a mistake. As funaki
was about to roll up kidman, he was standing too far away and couldn?t reach
him so kidman had to step back. Brian hebnar had a laugh to himself about it
before kidman picked up the win.
Match 4: Carlito v The Big Show
A Good match. Carlito seemed to work on the big shows leg a lot and matt
morgan didn?t interfere. Big show picked up the win with a huge chokeslam
Torrie wilson came out to shoot some t-shirts. She got booed off as she shot
the last one at the other side. Teddy long announced a new smackdown diva
off fox news. I couldn?t see her though
Intermission
Match 5: Mnm V Booker T And Hardcore Holly With WWE Tag Titles
Probably worst match of night. Mnm won the match again. Melina got a huge
pop when she came out. So did booker t and after the match, booker did a
spinnerooni.
Match 6: Heidenreich v Orlando Jordon For US Title
A HUGE pop for heidenreich. Heidenreich went to pick a friend but was
attacked from behind by orlandon jordon. I didn?t see how jordon won as kids
were running about crazy but he picked up the pin fall. After the match
heidenreich gave us one of his disaster pieces (poems) which was great.
Match 7: Main Event. 3 Way With Stone Cold referee for wwe title
Stone cold came out first to a massive pop. JBL Got massive heat. Kurt Angle
got a good pop and John cena got the loudest pop of the night. Kurt and JBL
Double teamed cena for a good part of the match until they turned on each
other. I Think jbl hit austin out of the ring so brian hebnar came down to
ref the match. As kurt angle had the ankle lock in stone cold came back and
hit angle, Stunnered Brian hebnar and john cena came in the and gave jbl the
fu and the win. After the match Kurt Angle And JBL Both Got Stunners whilst
stone cold and john cena had some beers.
