While great effort was taken to hide John Cena's jump to Raw before it took place on live TV, less effort has been made to keep the subsequent jumps secret. Carlito was spotted travelling after the Manchester, N.H. house show on Sunday night with Kurt Angle and Cena.
According to sources, he was spotted at a service station and even signed autographs. It indicates that Carlito and a few others may have known ahead of time that he was being drafted to Raw. Angle was told weeks ahead of time, but he is considered by Vince McMahon to be in the very top tier of WWE talent who he shows respect for by letting him in on such plans.
The Randy Orton jump was common knowledge throughout the WWE headquarters on Tuesday afternoon before his jump at the tapings that night. A few people knew a few hours ahead of time about Cena's jump the week before, actually, since some members of WWE's office staff were told so they could handle some logistical aspects resulting from his jump. They weren't told until late in the afternoon, though, and word didn't get to the arena that night so most wrestlers didn't know until he showed up in the entrance ramp right before going to the ring.
The planning of the Cena angle on TV was done off-site in a car with Christian and Chris Jericho being clued in at that point.
