WWE Sunday Night Heat Report-26th June 2005
By Shaun Best-Rajah.Com Reporter
Welcome one and all. Here's a quick recap of what went down on Sunday Night Heat last night before Vengeance which was good and bad with the good outweighing the bad in my opinion. The good being the WWE Title match and Hell in a Cell and the bad being the women's match and the whole Viscera/Godfather piece. I couldn't get into HBK/Angle either I don't know why. Onto Heat and it opens with Todd Pissem and Ivory live in Las Vegas Nevada outside the Thomas and Mack Center. Apparently Coach did crap in a poker tournament earlier in the week for anyone that cares. Coach introduces a highlights package chronicling Kane and Edge and what has happened since the Gold Rush final to the present day. Sicko Kane is back. Cool. We're urged to order Vengeance or watch on WWE.Com. We see various sights of Las Vegas when coming back from commercials. IC Title match is touched on and Grisham sends it to an interview Coach conducted earlier with Carlito. Coach says from one very cool guy to another congratulations on his achievement but then questions why a rematch so soon and asks if there's any concerns. Carlito in amazement responds by saying he won the US title on his first night on SmackDown! then did it again by winning the IC title on his first night on Raw. That makes Carlito a winner. Shelton Benjamin's a loser and Carlito mentions him to Coach who nods in agreement with everything Carlito says. Shelton Benjamin is a loser just like all of us. There's probably one or two people out there probably just one that thinks that Shelton Benjamin can beat Carlito. Carlito offers some advice and asks Coach where he is before remembering it's Vegas. Carlito tells all the people that like to bet before they go broke to get all their money gather it all up put it on the table and let it all ride on Carlito because in Vegas Carlito's the only sure thing. Carlito will defend his title and will walk out still the IC champion and that's cool as he throws his apple up but unfortunately doesn't take a bite and spit it at Coach. We see a package narrated by Triple H highlighting his dominance in all of his past cell matches. Sunday Night Heat is brought to you by Burger King, Nike and George and Romero's Land of the Dead now playing. We see a replay of the 8 Diva Search Finalists being picked and tonight on Raw we'll meet Leyla, Ashley, Kristal, Cameron, Elisabeth, Alexis, Summer and Simona. I like Ashley and Cameron. The Diva Search theme is "Be Yourself" by Audioslave available now. It's a big improvement on "Walk Idiot Walk". This past Tuesday in Las Vegas, Nevada was the Vengeance Press conference with Raw alumni shilling for Vengeance in character. A brief recap airs. Christy vs Victoria is talked up and briefly hyped but no highlights though. Hype and highlights of the runup to the Triple Threat WWE Title match air from when John Cena drafts to Raw to Y2J's recent heel turn. HBK vs Angle II hype is followed by a recap of their "Part 1" matchup from WrestleMania 21 which led us to earlier in the day with Kurt Angle sitting on a chair backstage looking focused for his match. Todd enters apologizes for the interruption but asks for Angle's thoughts on facing Shawn Michaels at Vengeance. Angle says when he won his Gold Medal in 1996 people knew he earned that victory. They never questioned whether it was a fluke or luck as they knew he won and congratulated him for it. When it comes to Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania people were asking whether it was a fluke or luck. Kurt reveals something about himself. When Kurt Angle goes to the ring and puts the ankle lock on someone he doesn't care who it is but he gives that man a choice. Either tap out or he breaks his ankle in two. Kurt Angle doesn't rely on luck and isn't like all the losers who come to Vegas and gamble all their money away for no reason at all. Kurt doesn't rely on luck and after his match his Hall of Fame plaque will read among other things "Kurt Angle Olympic Gold Medallist, multiple time WWE Champion and the only man to make Shawn Michaels tap twice". Mudvayne's "Happy" taken from the album Lost and Found available now is the official theme of Vengeance and at this point Coach has joined JR and King at the commentary booth which means it's match time and it's a title match to boot. Let's get to the action.
The Hurricane & Rosey w/Superhero Diva Stacy Keibler vs The Heart Throbs (World Tag Team Title Match)
Wiggle and gyration customary entrance for the Throbs who are out first as King reminds us that the upcoming Vengeance is sponsored by Juiced. Stacy is looking smoking hot as usual and she performs her customary leggy entrance into the ring. Pops for the Superhero trio who all pose mid ring. Rock, paper scissors by the Throbs and it's Antonio who gets to start with Rosey. Rosey backs Antonio to the corner and it looks like a clean break no Antonio knees Rosey's gut and follows up with punches and a headlock. Rosey sends Antonio off the ropes and puts him down with a shoulder tackle. Romeo runs in and Rosey shoves him down. Rosey slams Antonio and blindly goes to the second rope. I don't get what he's trying to do here as he has his back to Antonio who's too far away. Is he going for a banzai drop/moonsault or what? Rosey kicks the onrushing Romeo off the apron but Antonio with a chopblock drops Rosey. Antonio baits in Hurricane to distract the referee who holds him back and Romeo wraps Rosey's leg around the bottom rope. Antonio pulls Rosey to his corner, tags in Romeo. The Heart Throbs with a double make-a-wish. Romeo pulls Rosey away from the ropes and makes a cover for one. Romeo applies a single leg boston crab and a Rosey chant starts as Stacy motivates from the outside. Rosey reaches the bottom rope to break. Romeo punches Hurricane on the apron for another distraction allowing both Throbs to pull Rosey back and throw his legs up and down onto the canvas. Romeo gets another one count. Tag to Antonio and Romeo holds Rosey's leg for an Antonio stomp. Antonio drags Rosey's leg into the ropes and drops his weight down on it. Romeo tags back in as Antonio holds Rosey down for a Romeo axehandle. Romeo pounds on the leg then covers for a two count. The Rosey chant starts up again. Tag to Antonio as it's now Romeo holding Rosey down. Antonio goes to the second rope, jumps off but Rosey puts his other foot up. Rosey punches Romeo away and crawls to the corner inching ever closer eventually rolling through for the hot tag. Hurricane in, clothesline and heel kick to Romeo followed by a backbodydrop for Antonio. Hurricane clotheslines Antonio over the top rope to the floor. Hurricane turns to block Romeo's punch twists him round and delivers a reverse unprettier/driver/drop (what is it?) for a two count. Hurricane to the second rope, Romeo gets up and punches him, Romeo goes up clubs the back, Hurricane blocks a superplex, punches back shoves Romeo down and nails a cross body which Antonio breaks up at two with an axehandle to the back of the head. Rosey comes in to punch and whip Antonio to the ropes, Antonio hangs on, Rosey charges and Antonio ducks yanking down the top rope sending Rosey sailing over but wait he has his wrist caught in the top rope. The referee frees him and Rosey drops to the floor as Hurricane punches Antonio. Antonio reverses a whip into Romeo, Hurricane ducks, off the ropes, double boot to the gut by the Heart Throbs who then drop Hurricane with the double STO/russian legsweep. Romeo covers. New tag champions 1-2-no Romeo can't believe it and the fans cheer loudly and Stacy looks relieved too. Romeo hoists Hurricane up and motions Antonio in and the Heart Throbs go for a Hart Attack. Antonio off the ropes no Stacy trips him then backs off and amazingly the referee didn't catch it. Hurricane attempts a sunset flip on Romeo who balances by gripping at Hurricane's hair but with the referee tending to Antonio who's still floored on the apron Rosey clotheslines Romeo over before rolling out. Hurricane now has the sunset flip and the referee turns and counts 1-2-3. The Superheroes retain. Here Are Your Winners & Still World Tag Team Champions: THE HURRICANE & ROSEY. Post match all three Superheroes celebrate and Stacy is hoisted on the shoulders of the champions as we quickly break off to go to..................................
Batista and Triple H history dating back to Batista leaving Evolution to where things stood going into Vengeance. An image of Batista and Triple H staring one another down is when Heat fades to black and goes off the air. End of Show. I'll be back next weekend with Velocity and Heat in whatever form they're in due to Raw being a Supershow tonight which probably means Velocity and Heat being recap shows. Show some Dark matches or something. Anyways until next week, take care and have a good week.
Later. Shaun.
