Unlike the recent return of Hulk Hogan, there is still a tremendous amount of resentment towards Brock Lesnar for walking out on WWE after Wrestlemania 20 in 2004. He rubbed a lot of people the wrong way on his way out, given that Lesnar was dissatisfied with his role in the WWE at the time (part of why he left the WWE). The feeling is that when things became uncomfortable in the WWE, he "took his ball and went home".
The early word is that Lesnar will be returning to Smackdown, the brand he considered home for most of his WWE career. His return sets up several potential feuds with Batista, JBL, Randy Orton, Chris Benoit or The Undertaker. Whoever his first oppenent is, expect WWE to play off of Brock's real life situation and using it as part of a storyline.
Many backstage are under the impression that Lesnar has already signed a WWE contract.
