In somewhat alphabetical order, here are names of the eight individuals that have moved on to the third round of Oratory Writer Search.
1. The Amerykan
2. Brady Simenson (Devil's Advocate)
3. Christopher Gow (CMG)
4. Sarah K.
5. Moose Matson
6. Enrique Molinero
7. Mike Sawaryn
8. D.W.
Congratulations to the eight of you!
You have your instructions in the e-mail for next round. The word count has been extended. As has always been the case, you will have two weeks to write your next column submission. If you need an extension, you may be granted one, but only if you contact us in advance.
Four of the eight will move on to the fourth and final round where we will pick one out of those four to be the winner of the Oratory Writer Search.
Only ONE will be hired immediately whereas the others will have to post some columns in our Reader's Columnist Corner if they want to get hired. This won't be some thing where we hire a bunch of people right away. We said one and we mean one. If you want to get in, you have to show us that you're serious about it enough that you'd be willing to post it in our forums and show some consistency while doing so.
For those of you who did not make it to the next round, please do not give up. There is still the old-fashioned way to make it to the main page of the Oratory (and Rajah.com now too, don't forget). Just sign up for our Forums at http://www.oratoryweb.net/oforums and post columns in the Reader's Columnist Corner. You will be able to get feedback directly from mainpagers and OWS judges like Matt Seagull, Scott Newman, Ian Weinstein and Chris Brosnahan among others and you will only get better.
If you're talented enough and work hard enough to improve, you WILL be on the main page. It's as simple as that. The proof is in the numbers. Of the 16 current writers that we have at the Oratory, seven of them got their through our Reader's Columnist Corner in the forums. Trust me, if you post in the RCC you'll get good feedback from people who know what they're doing and know how to help you become a better writer. So please, please do not give up, and sign up for the forums if you haven't done so already.
Once all eight columns are received in the next two weeks we will be posting them on the Oratory main page so everybody can read them.
Thanks for reading.
