WWE Sunday Night Heat Report-24th July 2005
By Shaun Best-Rajah.Com Reporter
Welcome aboard one and all. Here's a quick recap of what went down on Heat last night before the dreadful Great American Bash. Todd Grisham and Josh Mathews were the hosts. (Farewell Ivory by the way) Straightaway as is the norm we see snippets of the Pre PPV Press Conference that was held this past Monday in Buffalo NY. Steve Romero is backstage with Orlando Jordan (the worst US Champ in history) Steve asked Orlando if he was concerned he might lose. OJ says No and throws out some rhymes before Chris Benoit approaches and knocks him down. Benoit smiles. Yeah Shut up OJ. A Boogeyman promo aired. We see JBL's victory speech on SmackDown! where Batista crashes the party and steals JBL's Uncle Sam costume who originally stole it from Torrie Wilson. Batista is shown arriving moments ago at the HSBC Arena where he stops to talk to Candice Michelle. We are reminded that Battle of the Bands happens tonight on Raw. Sunday Night Heat is brought to you by "Subway", "Constantine" and "Snickers". The controversial Muhammad Hassan package airs. The less said on that the better. During the whole night it was shown twice when it shouldn't have been shown at all and as for the music they played. Talk about squeezing out the last bit of controversy. How can WWE say that they support the troops and say the Great American Bash was for them when they churn out that shit. I'm glad Hassan is no more. He wasn't any good anyway. We are urged to watch Great American Bash online at WWE.Com. All things Raw are shilled for as Raw comes to us from Cleveland Ohio tonight at 8 Central on Spike TV. (The home of TNA). Highlights air of Eddie Guerrero vs Chris Benoit from SmackDown! The Mexicools stop by Josh and say he ain't Mexicool. The Mexicools say they're in the house before saying they aren't Mexicans but Mexicools. Michael Cole and Tazz join us from inside and run down the 8 match card. We see the Eddie Guerrero/Rey Mysterio highlights package since Eddie announced he had a secret about Dominic. Match time now and it's a title match. The Cruiserweight Title is on the line.....
Paul London vs Nunzio
We're back from commercial to see Nunzio in the ring sparring with the cameraman. London charges down, slides in and Nunzio wastes no time in stomping and clubbing the back of London. London forearms back, Nunzio off the ropes ducks a kick, Nunzio slides outside, London follows, Nunzio back in, London follows, Nunzio lands a dropkick to the face and gets a two count. Rear naked choke applied by Nunzio. London stirs and gets out via a jawbreaker. London scores with a forearm and a series of kicks. Nunzio reverses off the ropes, London with a standing leapfrog delivers a heel kick to Nunzio. London covers for two. Irish whip by London and a forearm in the corner connects on Nunzio. London Irish whips again and charges, Nunzio backdrops London outside, but London lands on the apron. Nunzio punches and London kicks as Nunzio goes to the second rope. London goes to step back inside and Nunzio hits the Sicilian Slice 1-2-no. London counters Arrivederci, grabs an arm, reels in Nunzio, London ducks Nunzio then catches a cross body attempt rolls through and connects with a Black Hole Slam across his knee. London drags Nunzio to the centre springs to the top rope and hits a Shooting Star Press. Wow what a quick match. That lasted between 2-3 minutes tops. Here is Your Champion & Still Cruiserweight Champion of the World: PAUL LONDON.
More hype for JBL and Batista takes Heat home and the caption of Batista dressed as Uncle Sam with the belt is shown as Heat fades to black. End of Show.
Don't forget to vote on the latest edition of the Shaun Selector. I'll be back next Sunday with Velocity, Heat and results from the latest Shaun Selector along with a new poll.
