WWE House Show Results (8/13/05) - London, Ontario

Report by: Mike, rajah.com reader

Just got back from the Smackdown house show in London, Ontario. Believe me when
they say card subject to change, on house shows that's most likely going to happen.
Benoit was suppose to face Orlando Jordan, but he wasn't there and his name wasn't
even brought up. Also there was suppose to be a 6 man tag team match but was
switched to a tag and a seperate 3 way dance, also Paul London wasn't there. Funaki
signed autographs for everybody before the show and out of everybody that gave
autographs and did photos he was the nicest. A girl called Bob Holly a rookie
killer and Holly responded "If you got paid what I do you would too." Everyone else
says she got dissed. Someone said 'Nova invented wrestling' when Dean arrived and
he replied 'someone had too.' Dean Melanko was spotted as well, he didn't do
anything though, nobody really cared.

A few other fans and myself, for fun, did some moves in the parking lot and strangly
enough what we did was better than the main event.

Inside the arena (other than the usual upper section being blocked off, was about oh
80-89% sold out.

Opening match Bobby (couldn't hear the last name) defeated Simon Dean. He was a big
black guy which some of the fans that saw him arrive before the show thought he was
the boogeyman. I can't remember what move he won with, I think it was a very hard
powerslam, could be wrong on that. Well done opener, 3.9/5.

2nd match Bob Holly teamed with some guy who looked like Shannon Moore but wasn't
and lost to Super Crazy and Psicosis. The moore lookalike did the job, I honestly
can't remember more than that. Holly was well over with the fans, almost close to
that of Batista during the main event. I was into this match even though Holly
lost, 3.7/5.

Mr. (ted) Anderson defeated Scotty Too Hotty next. After Tony Chimel introed Ted,
he took the mic and introed himself. He did the same thing after he won. By my
vote, 3rd best match of the night. Not bad, 3/5.

4th match was a 3 way dance (announced as a triple threat match) Funaki faced Nunzio
w/ Vito and Juvi. Funaki pinned Juvi and I seriously thought the belt changed
hands, but it didn't and a few minutes later Funaki got beat after a suplex which
Vito held the legs. The crowd was very pro-Funaki. This could have been better
really but it didn't suck either, 3.2/5.

In this match and the last one you could here Tony aruge with the referees about the
ending of the previous matches, which Ted used the feet on the ropes and Vito's
involvement.

Next MNM challenged Heidenreich for the tag belts as it was announced Animal
couldn't make it. Animal took the mic and said that a title match was promissed and
that there will be one. Animal eventual showed up, cleaned house and both connected
with the doomsday device. I seriously couldn't tell who was pinned but got a good
video shot from it. Well booked but Animal could have been there for the whole
thing, 4/5

Either before that or after Candice came out and shot t-shirts. She got more heat
than pop, most of the shirt shooters do anyways. 3 kids in the front row were
fighting over a shirt Candice took of and tossed into the crowd for almost 3
minutes, it was funny to watch and security let them go at it till they finaly
stepped in.

After the intermission, Booker T (not Chris Benoit, damn it) d. Orlando Jordan via
dq from interference from Christian. A tag match was soon made as Rey Mysterio made
the save. Rey and Booker picked up the w there.

The main event, Bastisa vs Randy Orton was next, which there was serious some
Muhammad Hassan chants. The referee was taken out, I missed that. Orton got a belt
shot it, a 2nd ref came down, 2 count. Eventualy the champ retains with the sitdown
powerbomb.

Post show Rey Mysterio, that big black guy and Mr. Anderson gave autographs and
photos to fans. Simon Dean was going to but as a heel (that is if you want him to
be, I know a few people who like the gimmick) said 'we ain't shining shit.' I left
after getting a pic of Rey. The Mexicools were in their rental car idle for amost
15 minutes, left their coffee on the roof of the car, they eventualy got it, waited
another 5 minutes, moved around their bags a few times and eventualy left.

top 5 pops of the night
Batista
Bob Holly (it was close but Batista did edge him out.)
Funaki
Scott
Super Kick Girl (one of the fans from the preshow) if not then Rey Mysterio.

The heat top 5

A tie between Simon Dean and Candice (t-shirt shooter) believe it or not for 1st
Orlando Jordan
Randy Orton
'Mr' Anderson (but I think the gimmick will work)

Personal beefs: No Benoit
no bWo shirts
no Steven Richards

The show could have been better but it didn't suck.
