WWE House Show Results (8/28/05) - Orlando, Florida

Raw House Show results- Orlando Florida- TD Waterhouse Centre
Just got back from the house show in Orlando tonight, and had a decent time. The
show actually started on time and the TD Waterhouse had most of the lower bowl
filled. I'm doing this mostly from memory, so some of the matches might be out of
order. Real Rock's Buckethead (who has a really annoying voice but is always in WWE
shows in Orlando) started things off with a homemade bikini contest. After that, we
get into the matches.

Tyson Tomko vs. Eugene
Tomko comes out first mostly to boos but a few fans stand up and do the Christian
chest slapping thing towards him. Eugene comes out to about 80% cheers and the rest
boos. He shakes hands with everyone at ringside and takes as long as the Undertaker
to get in to the ring. Once he does, he gets out again to mess around with a fan in
the back row of the floor seats, then hands something to the bell ringer and gets
back in the ring. Once he does, Tomko knocks him out and the ref calls the match.
Other refs come down to get Eugene out of the ring. Tomko is mostly irate, but does
an ok job to keep people interested. As Eugene gets escorted out, Viscera music
plays. Big Vis comes out to a huge pop, and we now have our first match of the
night.

Tyson Tomko vs. Viscera
There were a lot of blown spots some seemed to be because of miscommunication in
this match. Your average big guy fight match with Viscera winning on a sitdown
powerbomb.

Eric Bischoff gets announced and his music shortly follows (Eric Bischoff at a house
show?! Smart idea). Bischoff comes out to mostly heat, though a few fans worship
him. Bischoff slaps the person holding the mic and starts insulting the crowd. He
brags about how it was good business to fire Jericho which gets cheers (Jericho was
never really liked in Orlando. During his Undisputed reign he never came here). He
then talks about his big acquisition in Torrie and Candice and says we're welcome.
He says we'll see Torrie take on Victoria tonight and Candice will be in Carlito's
Cabana. He goes on to talk about doing good business tonight by putting John Cena in
a triple threat match with Kurt Angle and HBK. That gets some boos, but they don't
last long as Cena comes out and gets a loud pop. Cena says he's sorry. Talks some
more about the recent happenings with Jericho and Angle, then says that he'll do
what's good for business and gives Bischoff an FU. Cena then proceeds to march
wildly around the ring. Gee, I don't know who looked crazier, Eugene or Cena.

Chris Masters vs. Val Venis
Masters' music plays and he gets...a pop? Very weird. Masters comes out to a face
pop as he plays to the crowd. He grabs the mic and says that we all paid to see the
Masterlock challenge. He's from the west coast, we're on the east coast so he's got
10 grand for whoever is east coast that can break the Masterlock. Venis' music plays
and he gets an ok reaction. Match gets underway and again we see some botched moves.
Masters shows some improvement though and the end sees Venis trying to fight out of
the Masterlock (he goes from hyper to limp in like two seconds). As Venis leaves he
plays to the crowd and thanks everyone.

The Heartthrobs vs. Hurricane and Rosey for the Tag Team Championship
Heartthrobs come out to some boos and laughter, followed by a pop when they get into
the ring. Hurricane and Rosey come out to a pop. At the beginning of the match, some
of the audience (myself included) started a "3 Count" chant after someone yelled "I
loved 3 Count". This lead to a low but audible "Sugar Shane" chant. Hurricane gets
beaten down on for majority of the match. Ending comes up when both teams' double
team moves gets ruined by a member of the opposite team, but Rosey knocks out one of
the Heartthrobs to the outside. Funny part is that the Heartthrob went to punch
Rosey but saw he went back into the ring so he just fell down to the mat. Hurricane
and Rosey retain after using their double team move for the pin.

Tajiri vs. Kerwin White
Tajiri gets some cheers, then Chavo comes out in his golf cart and perfect music for
his character. He gets in the ring and makes it look like he's putting. The crowd
boos him, and only a few know as much to chant for Chavo. Still, White grabs the mic
and says "Ch-chavo? He's probably waiting in line for a job at a taco stand like all
of you unemployed people in the hispanic community." That got him some more heat
(Orlando has a large hispanic population). He makes fun of Tajiri's eyes, which
makes Tajiri spit green mist on him. Kerwin complains about his shirt getting dirty
and the match is underway. Impressive kicks from Tajiri and some crazy looking
chops. At one point, Kerwin got the hanger from the shirt he hung up, but the ref
caught it. End came when Tajiri had White in the Tarantula, but Kerwin rolled him up
and used the ropes right when he got out of the hold.

Interesting thing happened during the match. At one point, a boring chant broke out.
This gave the oppurtunity for some silence. During this time, a TNA chant broke out.
As soon as it was heard, Tajiri hit a big move on Kerwin White that made the rest of
the crowd react and effectively killed the chant. Just something I noticed.

Victoria vs. Torrie Wilson
Victoria comes out to an ok reaction. She gets in the ring and you just want to see
her grab her hair and give you that crazy look. Torrie comes out next in bright
green wrestling gear. It's been a while since she's actually wrestled. The DJ from
Real Rock (Buckethead) is announced as the special guest ref even though he wasn't
in the ring, and there was a real ref in there. This was mostly Victoria beating
down Torrie, though she did get a little offense in there. In the end, the ref took
a bump and Victoria kicked him out of the ring. She got Torrie up for the Widow's
Peak which got a huge pop from the crowd, but Torrie reversed it into a pin as
Buckethead slid into the ring for the three count.
Snitsky vs. Big Show

Snitsky comes out to a heel welcome, but it was still a large reaction. You don't
really understand why WWE gives superstars tv time till you see the reaction they
get live. Big Show comes out to a huge pop. Show is very welcoming as he gets into
the ring, waving at people and talking to them. I wish I could tell you a little
more about the match, but I went and paid homage to Viscera and by getting some hot
dogs. I did see Snitsky try to grab Show from behind, but he just butt bumped him
off. Crowd popped big time for the chokeslam as Show pinned Snitsky. During the
match, someone called Snitsky a snit stain.

After that match, the crowd went balistic as shirts were tossed/shot out. Plug for
merchandise happened and we got an intermission. During the break, I went to the
merch stand and asked if they had any Christian shirts. The lady just looked at me
all funny then said no. Of note, HHH's shirts were sold out, and Cena's Champ is
here shirt were in big sizes only.

Also, when I got back to my seat, I overheard some security members talking about a
huge TNA sign getting confiscated during Intermission.

Carlito's music plays as even though nobody's back from intermission. We get the
Cabana part of the show. Carlito won me over with his bit. He said that Carlito
liked Orlando. He said we have theme parks and....theme parks. He said we also have
the Orlando Magic which the crowd booed heavily for. This caught him by surprise and
he started laughing saying that he brought up our team and we booed them. He said
that it's ok, Carlito doesn't like them anyway which got cheers and laughter. He
asked if the guys were ready for a diva. He also asked if the ladies of that
persuasion were also ready. When that got a pop, he said that the guys in Orlando
better step it up. Candice comes out to an ok response. She dances for Carlito, who
teases her with an apple spit but holds back. He asks her to go to Pleasure Island
with him, and she says no. He asks again, same response. They do the whole bend and
pick the apple up bit. She goes to slap him as he catches her and gets mad. Flair
runs in and makes the save. While he's beating up Carlito he does pelvic thrusts
towards Candice. At the end, he asks for her music to hit and wants her to dance for
him. She kisses Flair which makes him do the Flair fall. He wooos and they both
leave.

Edge vs......Matt Hardy??
This wasn't advertised or on the card. Edge was originally supposed to fight Cena,
then it changed to Big Show. Edge's music hits. All together now...."You think you
know me....(drums and guitar).......my suitcase...with a contract..all insideeeeeee.
That I won...at Wrestlemania. Then I banged Liiiiiitaaaa...." I thought it was
funny. Edge comes to a...pop? and with Lita and the suitcase as the crowd chants
"You screwed Matt". He said we can chant all we want, but he is gonna kill Matt
Hardy. Tonight he finishes what he started at Summerslam. Matt Hardy says he'll
never die? Well he let him keep some life at Summerslam. Orlando will be his last
resting place (doesn't Mick Foley have a pic in his second book of himself, Matt and
Edge at IOA?). Hardy's music plays and the crowd goes crazy. No Matt from the
entrance though, as Hardy comes in and attacks Edge from behind. This just brought
the show up several levels. It was around a 4 and now jumped to an 8. These two were
just so intense as they literally beat down each other. At one point, Lita hits
Matt. He grabs her and calls for the Twist of Fate, but Edge clotheslines him. Most
of the fighting took place outside. A Hardy chant breaks out. They fight all over
the place, eventually taking it to the crowd over the ring barriers. As soon as they
step over, the ref calls the match. Hardy and Edge fight in the audience and goes
crazy as the crowd loves it. It dies down and we're now ready for the main event.

Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle vs. John Cena- Triple Threat match for the WWE Title
HBK enters to a larger version of the Eugene reaction; mostly cheers but some boos.
Angle comes out and gets the obligatory "You Suck" chants. Angle and Michaels have
an across the ring stare down until Cena comes out to a massive pop, as little
children everywhere gather in the aisles and sound like they're being strangled. HBK
was talking to some fans at ringside and messing around with the ref the whole time.
Cena gets in the ring and takes off his shirt which makes all the girls scream with
glee. Oh joy. After that, it dies down a lot. During the silence, a few "Cena Sucks"
and "Let's go Angle" chants are heard. Match starts with Cena and Michaels double
teaming Angle. The crowd loves this till Angle is out of the ring and Michaels chops
Cena. This gets him some boos which he just shrugs his shoulders to. Decent action
from the two until Angle comes in and fights Cena as Michaels goes down. Angle slams
Cena into the ring stairs as they fight outside. They get back into the ring and a
little 3 way fight actually happens. Angle gets knocked down, then Cena and Michaels
go down together. All three lie motionless till HBK kicks up. As soon as he does,
Angle gets up and runs over to give him an Angle Slam. Cena gets up and gets an
Angle Slam as the crowd goes crazy. We get a kick out, followed by Angle giving a
belly to belly suplex to Cena. Angle and Michaels go back to fighting, as HBK gives
Angle a shoulder drop. Cena and Michaels fight as HBK goes down. Cena goes to give
Angle an FU, but Angle gets out of it and gives Cena a huge suplex. We get Angle and
Michaels again, this time with Michaels tuning up the band. Michaels calls for Sweet
Chin Music, but Angle only gets up to his knees and grabs Shawn's planted leg and
drops him into an Ankle Lock. Crowd is really into it. Just like in Sunrise
yesterday, Michaels goes for the ropes, Angle drags him away, then HBK flips over
and kicks Angle into Cena who nails an FU on Angle for the pin. Very tight match as
it was only about 10 minutes. Anytime Angle and Michae
ls were in the ring together it was pure gold. Angle gets pissed and marches off to
the back, Michaels uses the ref for leverage and limps to the back. Cena stays in
the ring and delivers a speech saying the chain gang is strong in Orlando and that
the fans were responsible for making the show they just saw happen. He thanks us,
and the show is over.

All in all, it wasn't a bad show. Things really picked up after intermission. I wish
I knew who Christian pissed off to get his merch pulled. Angle had a great
performance as did HBK. Living in Orlando, I do attend TNA events as well as FIP
shows (you would also think that we'd be a big, informed market since TNA is shot
here. nope). The first part of the show was worse than both of them, but the second
part was on par. It's no wonder why Vince limits high risk moves like anything Paul
London does because fans get excited over an arm drag. I'll be there in Miami for
Royal Rumble and by then I hope to see CM Punk and Paul London in the same WWE ring.
