The newest edition of the Ross Report was posted today on WWE.com.
J.R. felt that the criticism WWE received for having Rosey come out on RAW last Monday with The Hurricane’s them music was unfair. The song begins with the words “Stand back! There’s a Hurricane coming through!” J.R. said that WWE in no way wanted to make light of the recent devastations of Hurricane Katrina. He goes on to say that the critics were simply “nitpicking”.
Ross says that “Internet pundits” continue to overanalyze the Edge-Matt Hardy program. He says he hopes the two will still have some gas left for Unforgiven after that Street Fight on RAW last Monday. He says that these “Internet pundits” are taking guesses at Lita’s “innermost thoughts by the expressions on her face and by backstage hearsay.” He goes on to call what “pundits” are doing is “Dr. Phil stuff.”
J.R. says that we should keep an eye on Ken Kennedy. “This athlete has a significant amount of potential. I honestly don’t remember a better time for talented, albeit unknown wrestlers to make an impact in the business.”
Commenting on the tag team situation in the company, Ross asks, “Where have all the great tag teams gone?”
Shelton Benjamin should be back on RAW this week after undergoing oral surgery last week.
Ross says he had a pleasant phone conversation with Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin is in Las Vegas doing some personal appearances. Ross reports that Austin is on a strict diet and workout regimen and will be ready to return to the ring on RAW in some way soon. He says that Austin is having quite the experience in Hollywood and has enjoyed his journey thus far.
J.R. spoke about getting a phone message from The Rock recently. He said that the Great One is quite busy filming movies in “Tinseltown.” J.R. said that he misses the guy, and Rock also misses performing in the ring in front of thousands and thousands of fans. Ross said he is really proud of what the Rock has done and continues to do today.
We should expect a star studded lineup for the USA Network kickoff of WWE RAW on October 3. The show will emanate from Dallas, TX.
