Ross Report: Brock Lesnar, Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, The Coach, Lex Luger & More

Jim Ross posted the Ross Report a little early this week.

Ross said a guy at an airport recently asked him if Chris Masters reminded him of a young Lex Luger. Ross said he first thought “Hell No!” but said that he didn’t say that to the gentleman. According to Ross, Masters understands his job better than Luger did at that age.

Jim Ross’ Internet observation of the week: “‘Ric Flair is a pervert for grabbing Carlito’s privates!’ Sure he is. Now, turn off your computer and go to bed.”

J.R. said Kurt Angle has been on a roll recently, nabbing quite a lot of wins. He goes on to say that “In all due respect to several WWE Superstars, including WWE Champion John Cena, I don’t know if I would bet against Angle vs. anyone based on what I’ve seen since SummerSlam.”

Ross is excited about returning home to Oklahoma for Unforgiven, but hopes he can leave the place without getting his butt kicked again.

He reminds us that The Coach will do play-by-play this weekend on CSTV for a college football game at 6pm ET.

J.R. hopes to be heading to Iraq again in December to entertain the troops.

An interesting point was made by good ol’ J.R. “Too many young wrestlers have the basic same look, tattoos, hair, etc.,” Ross says. “Individuality is seemingly becoming a lost art. This business is so much more than a mullet, a few tattoos, some baby oil and the willingness to execute untimely high-risk maneuvers just for the hell of it.”

Jake “The Snake” Roberts’ father, Grizzly Smith, was missing in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, but has been found alive.

There will be a huge Unforgiven press conference this Tuesday at Oklahoma City’s Ford Center at 10am.

Jim Ross’ take and random thoughts:

Rob Conway
“Rob Conway has the ring skills to be a star. He must be tougher than a government mule, or he wouldn’t be man enough to wear those tights.”

Brock Lesnar turning down WWE
“In my personal opinion, Brock Lesnar is making a big mistake by not accepting WWE’s very fair contract offer.”

Dusty Rhodes signing back on with WWE
“It’s nice to see Dusty Rhodes back working behind the cameras for WWE. I would love to host a DVD of the “Dream’s” favorite matches. Dusty is a future WWE Hall of Famer in my view.”

U.S. Open Tennis
“Are you excited about the U.S. Open tennis tournament? Me neither?”

This Season's NFL Champions
“In my opinion, no team has a better shot at making the Super Bowl this year than the New England Patriots.”

Giving Credit (or money), where credit is due
“I think I should be paid a royalty when football announcers use the term ‘slobberknocker.’”
