Survivor Series 1999
Shawn Stasiak vs Kurt Angle
Before the bout a video package airs introducing Angle as an Olympic champion. Angle proceeds to list all his accolades to date. Onto the match and Stasiak enters minus PMS but we see footage of his late father delivering a heart punch to an opponent and JR and King speculate on whether Shawn can follow in his father's footsteps. Angle comes out announced as the most celebrated real athlete in WWF history. The crowd are already booing this heavily which is unfair. Angle begins with a fireman carry takedown then a side headlock takedown. Stasiak counters with a headscissors then both get up and a standoff ensues which the crowd dump all over. Lockup, Angle with a go-behind, waistlock takedown quickly into a front facelock. Both trade hammerlock reversals on the mat before Stasiak counters a leg takedown with an armbar on the mat. Stasiak cranks the arm, works a side headlock, Angle sends off the ropes, Stasiak answers with a shoulder tackle and stepover, Angle catches him in a hiptoss but Stasiak immediately kicks Angle down. Angle with a slam and belly-to-belly throw, Stasiak with punches, Angle reverses off the ropes, Stasiak ducks Angle and levels him with a clothesline. Stasiak stomps Angle's back pulls him up and rams his head into the corner where Stasiak stomps and chokes Angle with his foot. Stasiak stays on the offense with an Irish whip, sidewalk slam and gets nearfalls after a suplex and flying backelbow. More boring chants ring out and are evident throughout the match. Stasiak applies a rear naked choke, Angle elbows free and fights back before clotheslining Stasiak off the ropes. At this point Angle goes out and grabs a mic to address the crowd: "You do not boo an Olympic Gold Medalist (x2). I'm the best in the world. I came here for you. You do not boo me". Angle gets in and Stasiak beats him down, Angle ducks Stasiak off the ropes but Stasiak catches him with a dropkick then goes back to the rear naked choke. Angle gets free again, Stasiak reverses off the ropes, Angle thwarts a tilt-a-whirl move by landing on his feet and sends Stasiak off the ropes who shoulder tackles Angle down. Stasiak puts the boots to Angle and struts a little. Stasiak goes for a suplex but Angle turns it into a cradle for a nearfall. Angle ducks Stasiak and hammers away before catching him in a powerslam off the ropes for another nearfall. Stasiak reverses Angle off the ropes and gets Angle on his shoulders and delivers a TKO type maneuver. Stasiak heads up top but Angle simply sidesteps a Stasiak splash/cross body attempt and Angle takes advantage by delivering the Angle Slam for the 1-2-3. Nice debut match. Angle's made phenomenal strides since then. Who would have thought back then that he'd turn into one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Here is Your Winner: KURT ANGLE.

WCW-The Final Monday Night Nitro-26th March 2001
WCW World Heavyweight Title & United States Title Unification Match
Scott Steiner w/Midijah vs Booker T
The crowd are firmly behind Booker in this one. Lockup, Booker with a side headlock into a hammerlock. Steiner elbows Booker's head to get out of it. Booker counters Steiner punches with his own, Steiner reverses off the ropes, Booker ducks and nails a spin kick for a nearfall. Booker with an armbar, Steiner takes Booker to the corner and knees the gut before unleashing a mixture of chops and slugs. Steiner talks trash to the crowd, Irish whip, Steiner charges into an elbow and Booker nails a clothesline for a nearfall. Booker with an Irish whip charges and hits a clothesline in the corner. Booker begins a mounted punch assault but at eight Steiner hooks Booker and powerbombs him for a nearfall. Steiner throws Booker through the ropes where Midijah gets a slap to the face in. Steiner drops off the apron with an axehandle onto Booker's back before resting Booker against the ringpost and grabbing his lead pipe. Steiner swings but Booker ducks and the pipe hits the steel so Steiner clubs Booker's back and puts him back inside. Steiner back in sends Booker off the ropes and into a clothesline. Steiner flexes his elbow and kisses it before dropping it onto Booker then breaking off to do some pushups. Steiner drives Booker's head into the corner and attacks. Booker tries to fight back but Steiner cuts him off with a knee to the gut and a belly-to-belly for a nearfall. Steiner stretches Booker's arms and pushes his boot into Booker's back for extra pressure. Booker slowly rises and looks like reversing until Steiner knees him in the back. Steiner goes to ram Booker into the corner but Booker puts the brakes on and attacks Steiner then whips him off the ropes but Booker puts his head down too early allowing Steiner to club the back. Steiner tries a back suplex but Booker rolls back and dropkicks Steiner. Both get up, Booker blocks then hits Steiner with punches, Steiner goes for a whip reversal but Booker reels him in and hits a knee to the gut followed by the ghetto blaster axe kick. Booker fires up and catches Steiner with a pancake coming off the ropes and quickly breaks into a Spinaroonie. Booker stalks Steiner and hits his harlem side kick before signalling for the Bookend. Steiner gets up and walks into Booker who goes for the Bookend but Steiner turns it round and counters with a northern lights suplex 1-2-kickout. Steiner hooks Booker and lifts for a powerbomb but Booker gets free, lands on his feet and catches the lunging Steiner in the Bookend. Booker covers and gets the 1-2-3 to unify the titles on an emotional last night in WCW. I haven't seen the WCW Booker with fire and hunger in his eyes in WWE for a while which is a shame. Just my opinion though. Here is Your Winner: BOOKER T.

SummerSlam 1996
Jerry "The King" Lawler vs Jake " The Snake" Roberts
The recently signed Mark Henry fresh from his Olympic stint is on commentary with Vince, JR & Mr Perfect. Harvey Wippleman is the referee for some reason. Lawler comes to the ring with a bag of liquor and begins to bring it out as he insults Mark Henry and mocks Jake's demons. Jake was in bad shape at this point in time. Lawler gets more heat as he wears a Baltimore Ravens jersey (they were in Cleveland). Jake finally comes out with his snake in the bag which Lawler's terrified of. Lawler removes his jersey and Wippleman steps in to stop Jake getting at Lawler. King tries to bargain with Jake by saying he'll reveal the contents of his bag if Jake keeps his snake hidden. Lawler pulls out a big bottle of champagne and Wippleman again blocks Jake's path to Lawler. Lawler laughs and offers it to Jake but turns away and as he and Wippleman fight over possession Jake gets his snake out and from behind drapes it all over Lawler. After a bit Lawler crawls outside and starts to head to the back. Jake puts the snake away and Lawler makes his way back inside. Cue a DDT chant as the bell finally rings. Lawler gets out and again on the mic offers Jake liquor. Jake heads out and punches Lawler before driving him into the ringsteps. Back inside Jake gets some shots in in the corner then delivers a snapmare followed by a boot to the nether region of Lawler. Jake steps outside pulls out Lawler and slams him on the floor. Jake rams Lawler into the ringpost then talks trash to him in front of the liquor bottles before driving him into the ringpost again then crushing his head in between his boot and the post. Jake gets back in, Lawler grabs a soft drink from a fan and throws it in Jake's face. Lawler gets in and a punch results in Jake getting tied up in the ropes. King heads out and grabs a liquor bottle. Jake boots Lawler's gut, gets free and goes for the DDT but Lawler counters with a backbodydrop. Jake no-sells a Lawler fistdrop gets up and delivers short arm punches. Jake winds up the arm and delivers a short arm clothesline. Cue another DDT chant. Jake goes to execute the DDT but Lawler pulls Wippleman in to block the move. Jake argues with Wippleman allowing Lawler to grab the bottle and ram it into Jake's throat. Wippleman doesn't see this bizarrely, Jake goes down and Lawler covers pulling at Jake's tights and Wippleman counts it 1-2-3. Here is Your Winner: JERRY "THE KING" LAWLER. Post match Jake tells Wippleman what happened and he confronts Lawler who denies it. Lawler grabs a mic and mocks Jake by saying his throat's dry so he must need a drink. Lawler forces the liquor on the fallen Jake and taunts Mark Henry who comes off commentary and takes a second bottle from Lawler and backs him up the entrance way. Lawler leaves looking happy with himself as Mark consoles Jake and helps him to the back.
