As reported earlier, WWE and Mark “Muhammad Hassan” Copani have parted ways. In recent weeks there were already rumblings of this happing soon if not already. Since being removed from WWE as an on-air character, Copani took off to Los Angeles to launch an acting career.
One source within WWE said Copani wasn’t the most well liked person backstage. There was feeling among the wrestlers that Copani didn’t have a passion for the business and was only using it as a stepping stone. When asked by WWE to do angles that would further push the Hassan character (before the controversy I assume), Mark reportedly shot down the idea. Management asked him to head on over to Ohio Valley Wrestling for repackaging and to work of ring rust following the Great American Bash pay-per-view, but that idea was also shot down by Copani.
For those of you wondering where this leaves Khosrov Daivari, he debuted in OVW at last week's TV taping under the name Sheik Daivari. Daivari is thought of as a strong performer and is well liked, so the feeling is he'll return at some point down the line when the right slot opens up.
