The rating is in for Saturday night's TNA iMPACT debut on SpikeTV - the show did a 0.8
While not the homerun rating SpikeTV was hoping for, this is a strong number and something both Spike and TNA can be proud of. The real test will be seeing how the show does over the next 2 months. If they can maintain that viewership base and grow to a 1.0, it will be a good sign of longterm potential.
TNA iMPACT! was getting 0.2 ratings when it was on FOX Sports Net just a few months ago. WWE Velocity had been drawing a consistent 0.5, so their 0.8 is a better number than it may appear. TNA was able to retain virtually all of the 18-24 demographic from UFC's Ultimate Figther, which airs right before iMPACT! The rating remained steady throughout the show, actually peaking at a 0.82 for the final segment.
