USA Network was publicizing all weekend the outcome of Batista's match and how that would effect the return of Jim Ross. Apparently, USA was doing this on their own with no input from WWE. WWE of course, had completely changed it's plans for that match when Steve Austin didn't participate.
USA has now taken down all references from it's website of Jim Ross/Batista. Apparently they have been informed today that the match between Batista & Coach didn't pertain any longer to Jim Ross's job.
Of course, WWE never did explain the status of Ross after Austin pulled out and has still not updated it's fans as to his status. However, it is expected with Ross still at home and unable to travel and with the emergence of Joey Styles that Ross will not return to WWE as an announcer anytime soon. It will be interesting to see if WWE decides to address the issue tonight on RAW and inform fans of the changed stipulation since they never did so before or after Taboo Tuesday.
