-- The Long Island Press recently interviewed Mick Foley. Regarding the Benoit family tragedy, Foley said, "Everybody's looking for easy answers, and there are no easy answers." He also added, "If somebody's burnt out [in WWE], they ask for time off. That's what Chris had done in the past, and what I've done in the past. There's no question that working on the road full-time with WWE is a difficult lifestyle. But to try to even insinuate that a rough job can result in a double murder-suicide is really a stretch for me. The only person responsible at all is Chris. -- The theme for WWE 24/7 in August will be "SummerSlam: The Biggest Party of Summer." SummerSlam '89 and SummerSlam '97 will be shown during the month. WWE 24/7 will also feature the Monday Night Raw episode from February 1997 where wrestlers from ECW invade the show. They will also feature a match between Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage vs. Sting & Lex Luger at Spring Break in Panama City in 1997, Ric Flair vs. Kerry Von Erich at Texas Stadium in 1984, and Bret Hart vs. The British Bulldog at SummerSlam '92. The Hall of Fame profile will be on the Junkyard Dog. You can read the August preview at this link. Also note, they didn't list everything that's being shown during the month of August.
-- WWE will be holding some sort of red carpet event for WWE's "Biggest Fan Contest" on Friday, August 24 in New York City (they have house shows on Saturday, and SummerSlam on Sunday, so it will on a Friday), and they'll be deciding the winner of the contest at this thing. WWE has just announced that John Cena, Batista, Randy Orton, Kristal and Lilian Garcia will be on hand at the Spotlight Live Club in NYC on the very same day and they will be participating in the "Biggest Party of The Summer" finals, which seems to be another term for the contest. That's probably where the red carpet event and judging in the contest will be located, and those stars listed will likely be the judges. Anyway, here is what they posted regarding the appearance:
