Additional Details Revealed On Why Wes Lee Was Released From WWE

Wes Lee was released from his WWE contract on October 10, a decision that took many fans by surprise.

In the latest edition of Fightful Select Answers, the reasons behind Lee's release were discussed. According to sources, Lee had been with NXT for five years, but there were no main roster plans in place for him.

The report also indicated that NXT has generally been tolerant of keeping talent on the brand for extended periods due to their television deal. However, in Lee’s case, this tolerance seemed to have reached its limit.

During his time in NXT, Lee was a part of MSK alongside Zach Wentz (formerly known as Nash Carter), with whom he held the NXT Tag Team Championship. He also had a successful reign as the NXT North American Champion, holding the title for 269 days from Halloween Havoc 2022 until July 2023.

Most recently, he had been teamed with Tyriek Igwe and Tyson Dupont as part of The High Ryze. His release coincided with those of other talents, including Stevie Turner, Lance Anoa’i, Jin Tala, and BJ Ray.
