Additional Information On The Injury Darby Allin Suffered On AEW Dynamite

As previously reported, top AEW star Darby Allin was not medically cleared to compete after being rushed to the hospital following last week's episode of Dynamite. Allin was unable to travel or participate in the ring after his Continental Classic match against Kevin Knight.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Allin sustained a head injury. The report indicated that the injury was due to a single impact rather than the result of accumulated effects. Although it is unclear exactly how the injury occurred, it was confirmed that it was not caused by the coast-to-coast dropkick he received.

Subsequently, it was reported that Allin was released from the hospital and able to fly home. AEW plans to wait until Collision to provide an update on his condition and assess whether he can return soon. Due to the unpredictable nature of head injuries, there is no definitive timeline for his recovery; he could be cleared by Wednesday, but it might also take longer.

Since Allin has only participated in one match during the Continental Classic, finding a replacement for him would not be a significant issue if necessary. However, it is currently unclear how a replacement would affect his standings, given that he has already competed in one match. Last year, when Juice Robinson was injured, Komander stepped in and was assigned the same win-loss record that Robinson would have achieved. If Allin needs a replacement, candidates could include Komander, The Beast Mortos, Bandido, Sammy Guevara, Ace Austin, Big Bill, Anthony Bowens, Brody King, Toa Liona, Daniel Garcia, Jack Perry, HOOK, Hechicero, Josh Alexander, Shelton Benjamin, Powerhouse Hobbs, Katsuyori Shibata, or Wheeler Yuta.
