AEW RAMPAGE RESULTS (10/28/2022)

This week's show kicks off with the usual, "This is Rampage, baby!" theme song and then we settle inside the Uncasville, CT. based Mohegan Sun Arena where the AEW Rampage commentary team welcome us to the show.

AEW Championship Eliminator
Matt Menard vs. Jon Moxley

From there, we head down to the ring for our first match of the evening. With that said, we see Matt Menard already settled in the ring. "Daddy Magic" from the Jericho Appreciation Society had his special exclusive entrance take place on AEW's YouTube channel prior to the live broadcast on TNT.

Now we hear the familiar sounds of "Wild Thing" as Jon Moxley makes his custom entrance through the crowd to the ring for this scheduled title eliminator bout, where Menard earns a title shot if he can pick up a victory here against the champion here tonight.

With Mox settling into the ring, we prepare for this opening contest here on this week's live edition of AEW Rampage from Uncasville, CT. The bell sounds and we're off-and-running with this one. The commentators talk about Angelo Parker being in Menard's corner.

Mox and Menard close in on each other and immediately we see the referee getting onto Parker's case. Eventually Mox loses his cool and goes out after him. Menard gets in a cheap shot while this is going on. This gets Mox's attention, and he begins beating down his opponent.

Mox brings Menard out to the floor the hard way and pummels him with rights and lefts as he's backed against the steel barricade. He poses to the crowd briefly and turns around into a low blow from Menard. Menard gets in some offense but then Mox turns the tide in his favor as the action re-enters the ring.

We see Mox climb up on Menard in the corner and bite away at the forehead of the J.A.S. member. Menard comes out of a whip into the corner with some rapid-fire combos of punches now, which shifts the offensive momentum into his favor, as the commentators point out on the broadcast.

Now as Menard continues to beat down Mox, he turns and ties the referee's attention up enough that Parker gets in a cheap shot from ringside. The battle moves out to the floor again where Menard slams Mox into the steel ring post just before we head to a mid-match commercial break as the action continues in our AEW Rampage opener here on TNT.

As we settle back in from the commercial break, we see some more back-and-forth action until finally, Moxley finishes Menard off and picks up the victory. After the match, Lee Moriarty comes out with Stokely Hathaway and confronts him. Mox agrees to a showdown with Moriarty in Baltimore.

Winner: Jon Moxley

Jade Cargill Addresses Nyla Rose

We return from the break and see Jade Cargill doing pull-ups in a room somewhere as she addresses Nyla Rose and vows to regain the title that is rightfully hers, the TBS Women's Championship.

Keith Lee vs. Serpentico

From there, we shoot back inside the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. where the theme song for Swerve In Our Glory's own Keith Lee to make his way out and head down to the ring.

Dasha Gonzalez handles the ring introductions for him and his opponent, Serpentico, who is already in the ring. The bell sounds and we're off-and-running with this singles showdown.

Jim Ross literally calls this one before it begins, talking about how he's confident this one won't be lasting long. We see Serpentico charge the much larger Keith Lee, who brushes him off with ease before responding with his finisher for the extremely quick pin fall victory.

Winner: Keith Lee

Shane "Swerve" Strickland Attacks "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn

We see Tony Schiavone head into the ring to handle a post-match interview with the victorious Keith Lee. He introduces him but before he can say much of anything, we hear the sirens sound and the theme song for The Acclaimed hits.

Max Caster and Anthony Bowens make their way out. They head to the ring but there is no rap this week, which Bowens addresses and apologizes for. They quickly settle in the ring and mention that Billy Gunn is missing.

Shane "Swerve" Strickland appears on the big screen and we learn that he has Gunn tied up in a dark room. He creepily circles him and taunts him as he mentions that he is going to make sure Gunn won't be at the match when The Acclaimed defend their titles against himself and Keith Lee.

The segment ends with Strickland using some bolt cutters or something to cut something fingers off of Gunn's hands. Gunn screams out in pain and as we return to the live shot in the ring, we see The Acclaimed run off to the back as Keith Lee looks on in shock as well from the ring.

J.A.S. Hypes Next Week's Dynamite & Tonight's Rampage

We shoot to a pre-taped interview segment with Jericho Appreciation Society, which features Chris Jericho promoting his ROH Championship defense in his Open Challenge for next week's AEW Dynamite. The segment ends with Tay Melo and Sammy Guevara hyping Melo's showdown tonight against Madison Rayne.

Tay Melo vs. Madison Rayne

It's now time for our third of four scheduled matches here on tonight's show. With that said, we hear the theme song for Tay Melo. who makes her way out alongside "The Spanish God" Sammy Guevara.

Guevara dips her and they do their pose together before he and Melo makes their way down to the ring for this match. Now the theme for Madison Rayne hits and out she comes, settling inside the squared circle as well.

The bell sounds and we're off-and-running with this women's contest here on tonight's live episode of AEW Rampage from Uncasville, CT. The two do a test of strength / Greco-Roman knuckle lock to start this one off. They hit the mat and work their way back up, where Rayne gets behind Melo and takes her back standing.

We see the two hit the mat again where this time Melo controls the action from the top position. She swings to the side mount and looks to secure a straight arm bar, however Rayne defends it well. The two end up back on their feet where they trade smacks to the face.

As Melo continues to dominate the offense, we see she and Rayne on the top-rope before she hoists Rayne up and leaps backwards, dropping Rayne back-first across the top turnbuckle in a wild back-breaker spot.

After that, we head to a mid-match commercial break as the match continues with Melo dominating the action. When we return from the break, we see Melo still in control of the action, which the commentators inform us she has been dominating throughout the break.

Finally, we see Rayne connect with a big DDT that helps her slow Melo down long enough to work her way back into competitive form. Both ladies work their way back to their feet where Rayne starts to shift the offensive momentum in her favor.

We see Rayne continue to control the offense as she builds things up to a spot where she hits a big cutter off the ropes in the corner. Rayne tries a pin attempt and gets a close two count. She goes for another spot which Rayne reverses and counters with a move of her own for another near fall.

Things eventually build to the finish, which sees Melo hit her TayKO finisher for the pin fall victory over Rayne. After the match, Guevara re-joins Melo in the ring for a big celebratory kiss. Melo poses to the crowd on the ropes to end the post-match scene.

Winner: Tay Melo

"All Ego" Ethan Page Addresses The Firm's Attack Of MJF

We shoot backstage where Lexy Nair is shown standing by with "All Ego" Ethan Page. He is asked about The Firm attacking Maxwell Jacob Friedman on AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday night.

Page addresses this before announcing he is officially entered into the AEW Championship Eliminator Tournament. He vows to walk into AEW Winter Is Coming and do something that MJF will NOT be doing at AEW Full Gear, which is defeat Jon Moxley.

He vows to leave the event with the AEW World Championship. Nair sends us to a commercial break as Page walks away after making the aforementioned final statement.

TNT Championship
Wardlow (C) vs. Matt Taven

We see Mark Henry backstage and he has his regular pre-main event, split-screen interview with the competitors involved in our final scheduled match of the evening here on this week's live episode of AEW Rampage on TNT.

Both guys speak briefly, and then we return inside the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. where the commentators run down some matches announced for next week's AEW Dynamite, as well as next week's AEW Rampage, which will feature the AEW return of boxing legend "Iron" Mike Tyson.

From there, the theme for Matt Taven plays and out comes The Kingdom member accompanied by Maria Kanellis. He settles inside the ring and then the music for the reigning, defending TNT Champion Wardlow hits and out he comes.

The bell sounds and we're off-and-running with our final match of the evening here on this week's one-hour AEW on TNT television program. We see things get off to a hot start and then we shift gears and head to a mid-match commercial break as the action continues.

When we return from the break, we see some more back-and-forth action from these two leading up to the finish, which eventually sees Wardlow hit his Powerbomb Symphony for the pin fall victory to retain his TNT Championship.

Winner and STILL TNT Champion: Wardlow

After The Match: All Hell Breaks Loose!

Once the match wraps up, all hell breaks loose. First, we see some extra faces from The Kingdom and The Embassy hit the ring. They all begin attacking Wardlow.

Samoa Joe's theme finally hits and out he comes, but he too ends up beaten down by Shawn Spears, Powerhouse Hobbs, The Embassy, The Kingdom and others who have filled the ring.

WarJoe end up left laid out and the aforementioned heels stand tall hoisting titles in the air as this week's show goes off the air on that note. Thanks for joining us!
