Backstage News On AEW Reportedly Changing Women’s Tag Title Finish On Dynamite Due To Injury

Last night's episode of AEW Dynamite featured the AEW Women's World Tag Team Champions, the Babes of Wrath (AEW TBS Champion Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron), defending their titles against "The Megasus" Megan Bayne and "Superbad" Penelope Ford of Megabad. During the match, Ford executed an Asai moonsault onto Nightingale and Cameron, which resulted in an injury that forced her out of the match.

According to Fightful Select, Ford's injury has been confirmed and is considered legitimate. The report also noted that AEW had to call an audible from the backstage area to address the situation, leading to a change in the match’s finish, which ended in a disqualification (DQ).

It remains unclear how significant the change was or who was originally slated to win the match. However, the report suggested that Ford's injury prompted some immediate adjustments to the show, though nothing drastic occurred. There is currently no information on the severity of Ford’s injury, but updates will be provided as they become available. Ford had previously returned from a UCL tear in January that had sidelined her for three months.
