Backstage News On AJ Styles' WWE RAW Promo Airing During Netflix's Commercial Break

As previously reported, WWE star and pro wrestling veteran AJ Styles delivered a worked shoot-style promo on RAW this past Monday night. In his promo, he mentioned that “someone” didn’t want him in the company and referenced the recent releases of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, which left him without backup.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Styles’ promo quickly reached U.S. audiences, even though it initially aired only internationally. The spread of the video through the internet and social media contributed to this, and the fact that it wasn’t aired domestically led many to believe that it might be real. A significant number of viewers perceived it as “more real” than a typical promo shown during the U.S. broadcast.

Styles’ WWE contract is set to expire in February 2026 after he signed a short-term extension earlier this year. Over the weekend, he sparked speculation with an Instagram post featuring an hourglass, suggesting that he may be considering retirement soon.
